Iv'e been optimistic about this game since the start, iv'e put up with a fair few things.
but in this case i want to atleast get my opinion out there.
I'd say about 90% of the time i die in cyradiil it's me being killed in say.. idk 10-13 seconds maybe less by some dude who literally charges at me, and shield bashes me to death, i mean it sounds stupid but there's no honor in this.. it's literally a skill-less kill, i mean yeah i'm a nightblade, i spend most of my time poping out of the shadows and killing people before they get a chance to do anything either.. but i mean atleast i have a variety of abilities i need to use in quick succession in order for me to simply stay alive, these dudes are dragonknights most of the time and they just charge and shield bash, dying isn't fun, and i guess no one would like it, but this isn't fun to the point where i'm actually getting frustrated and logging off... i'm not going to do anything drastic like threaten to cancel my subscription if it isn't fixed or something, but idk.. i just don't like it, it's an annoyance... it's bringing my fun train to a rocky halt.
no more fun choo choo for me.
So yeah, thanks for reading my rant, have at me.
TL;DR
So basically i wanted to make 3 points here.
1) If you're running around shield bashing people to death, know that you're not playing with any skill, or honor if that comes into play anywhere, and that i have no respect for you as a fellow player.
2) i think that something does need to be done here i don't have a clue as to what, but i'm sure i'm not the only one who feels similar to the way i do.
3) if you feel the same way feel free to rant below, but don't get too out of control yeah?
This thread is hardly a customer support issue. You should take your whining over to the game discussion section. By the way, you are full of crap. There is no way 90% of your deaths are to bash. Learn to pvp, stop crying.

✭✭So this guy probably spends the majority of his pvp life hiding in the bushes, waiting for someone to run by on a horse so he can jump and smack them to death in complete suprise, with little to no risk, then complains because someone smashes him in the face with a shield, and says they have no honor.
I play a nightblade, and I hate DK, and I often...OFTEN jump people on horses and gleefully kill them. Theres no honor in any PVP kill. First thing I learned in this game in particular, if you try to play with some class, you're an idiot. Personally I dont like being an idiot, which is why I also use a shield and bash people in the face, after I knock them off their horse.

I disagree that there's no honor in PvP. To illustrate, I'll share a little story.
A while back, me and my group were running through Cyrodiil doing daily quests and collecting Skyshards. There was about 10 of us or so. One of the daily quests from Vlastrus took us into a public dungeon. We got down there, but I made a bonehead move and killed the boss before everyone was in range (quest was to kill the boss) so they didn't all get credit.
We decided to wait around in the cave until the boss re-spawned. While doing so, a level 14 wandered into the cave by himself. My group was much larger, higher level (all vets I think), and comprised of experienced and organized players. The guy didn't have a chance. My group (including me) also tends to have a squirrel mentality. So when we see an enemy player, we often drop everything to run off and slaughter them. That was the case here and some guys got a few hits in on him. I on the other hand noticed that he was just trying to get the Skyshard at the bottom of the dungeon.
I instructed my group to leave him be until he'd gotten it. He didn't catch on at first, and he started attacking us back. We just blocked and healed since he didn't really pose much of a threat. Slowly but surely, he came to understand what we were doing. We let him get the Skyshard and then brutally murdered his face. He whispered me afterwards to thank me.
Now that sort of thing isn't a common occurrence and you've got no right to be upset if your enemy ganks you on sight. But being a good person does make you feel good.2 -

I'm surprised people haven't realized that every skill or weapon you don't have/use is OP. It's easier to say "everyone is OP, but me" It's a conspiracy by devs to choose a few randoms and nerf only their characters. By doing this they can keep spreading the wealth between the different MMO's as player get mad and move to another game.
I love shield charge/bash, I just wish Zos would change the stun animation from a halo to little birds or stars.
I get so tired of people complaining about op this or why'd you nerf that. With the right gear setup a wood elf can out run a horse, with a full set of magicka furnace a sorc can have almost unlimited mag regen, with twilight armor a dk with green blood can almost never run out of health, its not op its strategy.
So long a people are too lazy to read or do a little research and experiment, I will keep bashing you in the face and posting it on youtube with the Benny Hill theme song for everyone's enjoyment.0 -

Go into cyrodil, and watch a dragonknight charge some random person in a zerg, shield bash them to death activate his coldowns, and walk out at a leisurely pace while the rest of his team catches up to him... Full heavy armor, shield and dk cooldowns in pvp is fine... but coupled with ungodly dps with shield bash, just makes it stupid.

Bash spam (when geared with passives) is completely overpowered. If you can't admit that then you are clueless about pvp. It's being nerfed, and it will get nerfed more. Mark my words.
I was just watching a youtube video of 2 pretty well known pvp guilds fighting a set up 8v8 over and over. Guess what the #1 rule was in their fights? Yep, No bash spam because it's way overpowered and required zero skill.
Enjoy it while it last buddy. My guess is the dev's see Bash as a defensive ability, not a major offensive ability that can be spammed for huge damage.

This is just a symptom of a bigger problem: Players are inherently lazy and refuse to adapt to anything. Therefore, any skill or ability that kills them becomes overpowered by default. Shield bash, for instance - the guy doing the bashing moves at the speed of snail, even with 2/2 in battlefield blocking. Bash can be blocked, stuns can be broken. What's next, after shield bash gets nerfed? Crystal Shards? Biting Jabs? You'll die faster to both of those abilities. One can be executed from range and hits much, much harder (along with instant cast proc), and the other is AoE/interrupt with double melee range....they're both far better skills, so they're next on the chopping block would be my guess. You can CC break while laying flat on your back? Cause that is how this is happening. DK Rushes and knocks you down, then does several shield bashes and your dead.
It's getting fixed in 1.1.1 so we can all look forward to it.
Hopefully Bolt Escape is next because that ability needs a mana cost increase.

Then clearly you haven't been playing pvp much. Simply put a dk can do about 5 shield bashes in 2 seconds. And knockdown times depends on each ability. Some knock you down for longer.

What. No. Shield charge has the knock down. Shield bash does not knock you down. You can easily CC break out of shield bash after you get up from the shield charge.
Oy. The only morph to Shield Charge that grants you added time is not much. Like .5 seconds to 1 seconds and it's based on distance traveled. In real life if someone smacked you around the head / upper torso with a medieval shield you would not stay upright for long. IMHO the shield mechanics are OK.

Dude, If someone irl smacked someone with a shield or made a threat on someones life they could be looking at the bottom of a barrel, which is a lot scarier. js.
I see you managed to completely miss the point I was attempting to make.Shields were / are very effective weapons. We know this from history and the research of medieval weapons.
