First off, I would like to congratulate you for coming here and asking for help, instead of asking for nerfs.

I mean that quite sincerely. You're doing it right.

Second, it could be helpful if you would post your build. Try using the Skill Calculator as ESOhead.com and posting a link here for us to look over.

There are a few tricks to this fight. The first is simply popping to orbs, for which you'll want an AoE skill.

Whirlwind, Volley, and Wall of Elements are all low level, easy to unlock, and good for this purpose.

Next, you'll want some self sustain. If you're a Templar you can use Rushed Ceremony or Healing Ritual. If you have a Resto Staff you can use any of those skills. If you are a NB you can use Strife. If you're a Sorc....well you don't have any healing yet apart from the Resto Staff and Potions. Use one of those or just try to turn it into a DPS race.

I am definitely going to look into the settings for my graphics card and see what I can do to make this fight better. First I might just change the gamma (a lot of times it's just light level that makes a difference).

Thanks for all the help. I'll be sure to come back here and report on my victory. :D

I suspect I need to go find another skyshard and take Green Dragon Armor for the sustain...I can bash pretty effectively, and if I open with Dragon Leap then use Stonefist later in the fight I should be able to keep her on her back and not casting orbs/killing me.

I had a similar problem when facing her. When I fought close quarters combat with Doshia the orbs never seemed to appear. To defeat her I had to kite her with a bow, hit the orbs (which miraculously appeared from a distance :-\), use ranged attacks for about 7 minutes untill she died from lack of orb health.

Ya, for sure go buy Dragon's Blood. You're not even going to believe how crazy good it is as a self heal.

As soon as you get that ability, this fight will be a cake walk for you.

I just wish they'd let you get a friend to port into the instance.

My gf isn't a gamer, but plays ESO and likes it a lot. But these fights like Doshia and such are really blocking her in the game.

Yeah I mean, I know it's not a big deal for most players, they will just go grind up and come back, but for people like my gf who aren't gamers and still like the game, they get blocked by these enforced-solo instances.

I'd just like the ability to go help her with fights like Doshia... she *almost* got it but wasn't fast enough on killing the orbs to prevent Doshia from healing, and it's really frustrating.

She actually told me she wanted to quit after she had tried to beat it for an hour or two.

I just wish I could help her get past some of these things so she can continue to enjoy the game.

Note though that I don't think it really needs a nerf, if you're a level or so above and kill Doshia's orbs, the fight is tuned alright.

But for *really new players* to MMOs and games in general, it's a hard fight and it would really make it less frustrating if they could have a friend come in to help (and no, I'm not suggesting they rebalance the entire thing towards grouping, I'm just talking about being able to have ONE person come in to help on these otherwise enforced-solo quests).

If we can't get some solution like being able to have one person join in to help on these fights, ZOS is going to lose a sub (my gf's). And not because she doesn't like it, but because she is blocked by fights like these, and can't have more experienced players help her (even just ONE person would be fine - not talking about "full groups" or anything).

It's actually kind of entertaining to watch and see how many people post without reading anything but the title lol.

This could be turned into a drinking game for geeks...

That seems to be quite the trend on these forums. Or people that don't bother to read anything at all, even the title.

For a level 8 quest, it was one of THE hardest quests in the game, hands down. It was way harder than it needed to be for that level when compared to bosses at higher level content.

The part that makes her so hard to me is not the actual fight itself. It is that at that level you have so few points. So you can gimp yourself. At the level having or not having 1 skill can make things go from super easy to near impossible.

But i couldn't imagine trying to do it if you cant see the orbs.

I agree. I'm glad that they fixed the exploit with Vamprism and I just hope the bugs with Werewolf get ironed out to make it more viable.

    Well said.

For a Templar try making sure you have Sun Fire morphed into Reflective Light, and Radial Sweep (which is the ultimate from Adriac Spear). RS is only 75 ultimate, and is a pretty good aoe.

Combined with learning the timing, AoEs should be able to help you as it doesn't seem to take much to actually kill the orbs (they seem to be one-hit only). Reflective light is especially nice since the "AoE' portion of it auto-targets other nearby enemies, so even if you have trouble seeing them it can take them out.

Actually I would use nova if you can get it. Generally if you save it till the orbs are in range you will only need it once. Same with the DK's "dragon standard", they are both DoT AOE's. Mixed with silver bolts (and since nerf) this is a potent combo.

How ever you do it, don't worry about self heals as the orbs will keep you up as you take them down.

The best piece of advice I can give you is to calm down. Slowing down the fight in your mind will make it easier see and hear the que's you need to react to.

That is an interesting dilemma. I don't think I've ever seen any mainstream games built with colorblindness in mind (bearing in mind that color blindness comes in many flavors).

You have two options that I can think of:
    * Outlevel the content, come back when you're like level 15-20.
    * Focus on burst DPS. Watch a video on her to see her behavior when she summons orbs. Wear her down, and when you see that behavior in-game, do as much burst DPS as you can to her. It may take a few tries.

I finished this fight at level 9 doing the latter, I couldn't be bothered to kill the orbs. I circled around her throughout the fight and took almost no damage thanks to avoiding her spells, and when she summoned the orbs I emptied my entire mana/stamina bars on her. Easy kill.

Many "mainstream" games have colorblind mode.

My advice is to try AoE like crazy.

A tip from someone who was in your shoes a while back: make sure you actually "target" the orbs, i.e. click whatever preset you have for targeting to ensure you can quickly identify them AND increase your chances of hitting. I kept missing the little buggers even when they were RIGHT in front of me before I started using the "target/lock" capability. That made it MUCH easier.

Ding, ***, the witch is dead!

Took me 3 tries tonight. I pumped the gamma one spot and the orbs were visible. I had to change my action bar to use Ardent Flame abilities (Flame Slash mostly) and build ultimate, but when the orbs popped and I dropped the Banner of Win, they died, I went to full and she fell.

Thanks for all the help and advice. I think I'll leave the gamma where it is for now...

Beat her again, and I think people might be confusing the ghost effects around her for the orbs. I'm still only seeing one of them coming out at a time.

Dont know if this has any difference with colorblindness, but you can activate hp bars to always visible. the moment you are in range of a mob, either neutral or agro it will get a red or yellow hp bar on top of it.
Its very helpfull to give away "hidden" mobs. One of the dungeons, i believe its crypt of hearts has a corridor and in cisterns has several skeleton mages easily overlooked because of not being in plain sight.
I could see them because of the hp bars and was holding, but then i saw rest of team just ran past them and agro the whole bunch, and was like huh?
Those orbs will have hp bars aswell and youll find much more of those pests later in game, but if gamma correction fixed it, guess hp bars isnt needed anymore.

@JBerkleyJr - Oh boy, I missed the color blind in the OP also.

Because most people probably regurgitated their opinions after reading the second paragraph.

I struggled mightily with my Templar on Doshia and I too am colour blind. Once I learned the script a bit better I was able to handle it quite easily although my mostly healer build didn't help at that low level.

I have had major issues on several quest involving matching coloured spheres/lights etc. I looked through the settings and did not see any colour blindness options although I have played major MMO's previously that did have that functionality - EQ2 in particular.

The suggestions are good ones, in particular the Silver bolts or AoE to get the spheres before they get to her.
