Guys... hear me out. This game just came out, it's been a month. You guys speed rush to the end game like your lives depend on it. Now you have to wait for the game to catch up. Relax, EVERY mmorpgs has these issues. If you went at a normal pace like most people that stop and smell the roses you would not have these issues. You have got to give ZOE a chance to work on the game before you start griping about quitting. It's been a month, I am level 30, I do pvp, I quest, I explore, I goof off. I have literally no problems. I've played mmorpgs for going on 30 years now. This is the smoothest rollout of a online game I have ever played. Games like EQ1 and UO had more downtime than uptime when they were released. You are the only ones to blame if you spend every waking hour in game playing instead of a healthy mix of RealLife and gaming as a hobby. Do you really expect 10 years of refinement from an MMO in the first month? Some of you started playing WoW years after it was released and so think because it was new to you there were no problems. Give ZOE some credit. This is a great game, so enjoy it. The game will still be here so you dont have to try and beat it in the first month.
If I am going to quote someone, it's going to be me.

I played crappy games in my time. This, isn't one of them. People of the Sega generation will remember one game that was hastily ported. A game that is unforgiving. Collision control that makes water torture look like a disney ride. That game? Shadow of the beast.

I've seen 10x worse MMO's that's a fact. I hope ZOS fixes the problems with the game because I want it to be around a long time. It's been one heluva ride up until I hit Vet rank 2.

Easy for you to say. I been playing since a day after launch and my best character is just 26...but then I always did have a problem with alting too much. >.<

Anyway, I have no problems waiting for some things in the game to change but the one thing I cant and wont abide are the game killing elements, the bots and the spammers. Aint saying ill quit my sub if those are sorted...but if they are not, if as example in 3 months I still go into dungeons to find out what's at the other side and see bots farming the dungeon boss...not sure I can stay then. For me this game would be 7.5 out of ten, were it not for the gold spammers and bots...right now, I hate saying it but its less than 5/10. Yes, that's how much those problems are affecting the game. [that and it don't seem to know what it wants to be yet]

This is a great game. Angry Joe is an internet idiot, I wouldnt listen to him about anything. You don't need any kind of formal education to be a critic or a reviewer. You just have to attract like minded people to support you, like a cult.

How many hours have you played? Because IF you play the game is one of the most generic answers. What is 'playing the game'? Killing mobs 8 hours a day? Playing a couple of hours a night chilling with mates while exploring and reading lore books?

    Rush?

I got to VR1 just from questing, no exploits (all Daggerfall zones complete) a few days after early access was over.

I've got alts from level 10 to 20....

The only possible way to make levelling slower would be to log off and not play at all.

You slow YOUR roll, I've got 5 characters at level 10 which means techinically I am 50th level:P

Agreed for the most part, though...if that is their style, rushing through things thinking it is all about the end...more power to them.

Though...I feel sad for their wives or girlfriends. Some things shouldn't be rushed, they should be enjoyed for the experience they offer.

Maybe I'm just easily amused, but I've been playing since the 5-day early access and my highest alts are level-11 (almost 12). Granted, I've fiddled with builds and started several classes over after reaching level-10, but I've also learned a good bit about game mechanics, found builds that work for me, have maxed all the crafting professions (with respect to level capability); I have a TON of materials, and considering my levels, I'm comfortably wealthy.

Character Level means absolutely nothing to me. More than anything, I'm enjoying living in Tamriel immensely. And when I do reach higher levels I will have ample materials and crafting skill to make whatever I need.

What could be better than spending a lovely day gathering materials at a pleasant pace? In some respects, I feel sorry for the player that feels he has to scream through the game with his hair on fire.

I've had my beef with ZOS over lost bank slots, have a few petty peeves, but I'm otherwise completely thrilled with the game.

So all these people saying they've been playing 'casually' and are VR... Yeah okay. I've been playing every day for many hours a day (at least 5 hours a day) since the 5 day early access exclusively on one character, exploring everything, trying to do all the quests, collecting all the skyshards.... and I'm only level 45. That is ALSO with straight up skipping A LOT of dialogue because I already know the dialogue from the beta.

So how in the hell have people played 'casually' and not skipped dialogue and not blown through quests and areas and reached VR already? To me, you ad to have grinded or done SOMETHING differently. I'm to the point where I've done every quest I can that's not bugged, and now I'm grinding quests and doing public dungeons in Cyrodiil just to level up.

    These threads always amuse me.

Some people play much faster and more efficiently than others -- sometimes 2 or 3 times as much. Some people also want to level to cap and see everything it has to offer before deciding whether to sub for a month. I am not one of these people (my main is 33), but I do understand them, I think, and I respect their playstyle. There isn't any need to denigrate them for playing a game differently than the more gradual playstyle. It's their game to enjoy as well as ours.

I have no problem whatsoever in making the ESO experience last as long as possible. I am happy with the game world, I am aware of the things the ESO MMO has not got, which it should have, like a proper crime system and *cough* specific other guilds but I am sure those will be added in due course. I cant help but feeling though, that perhaps console ESO when it comes will be better than PC ESO [hear me out] because, frankly, the PC game makes my hands hurt, I don't know about others, but changing direction with the mouse...its distinctive, and useful, but DAMN it hurts a lot after 3 hours or so. With the console game when it comes, there wont be that issue. There will also be no issue with undesirables, as in the cheaters whom you know what I mean, as their online gaming access would be removed. Would a loot-bot creator be stupid enough to program a bot for xbox-live? Risking online access to other titles. No, I don't think so, because on the PC they just have to contend with the MMO creators. Their internet wont be cut for what they do here...but on console on-live...they have to contend with the console companies live community, and think, if one was stupid enough "please, that's £350-£400 for a snazzy new console please" Ah, loot bot creator not so keen to risk it, eh?

    1) you can use a pad with the PC version, there are a few tutorials on the forum

    2) crime and punishment is the name of one of the content update, I presume it will come out after Craglorn. That will include Thieves Guild. DB is set for the future but no ETA

I'm thoroughly enjoying and savoring every single moment in Tamriel. My highest of 3 active toons ( and 4 banker / name-holders ) is 26, the others are 16 and 12, all three in different factions. I have no desire to burn through content. For me, it's all about running about, finding treasure chests, nooks and crannys, the odd little delves and side quests, crafting mats and lore books. I'm a completionist, I love seeing -everything-.

If I was not an alt-aholic I would be veteran by now. I am in no rush, I am not a hardcore player, so I often just run around looking for mats, as I like crafting and I am making good money in Glyphs right now. When I get to 50 I get there, I love exploring every nook and cranny in this game. You will be surprised what you find, today I came across an NPC in the middle of no where who opened a portal through and let a mob thorugh, dropped a blue on me.

I'm not knocking the hardcore players by any means, I'm just saying that if you knock out all the content in some super marathon in the first month, well then you should expect to have to wait for the game to catch up. For some it is all about getting to level 50 as fast as they can, and thats fine, thats not how I play so I do not have the dilemma of having to wait for the next patch.

Some people also want to level to cap and see everything it has to offer before deciding whether to sub for a month.

In my opinion, seeing everything it has to offer and experiencing everything it has to offer are completely different. In my opinion, everything the game has to offer doesn't appear at the level cap. It's the journey from level 1.

I can probably list off everything the game has to offer; quests, storylines, monsters to kill, hidden treasure chests, easter eggs, crafting and materials for crafting, plot twists, lore books, skyshards, open dungeons (for everyone), private dungeons (for your group), trials/raids, guilds, guild stores, a shared bank.

I'm only level 15, and I've been playing since day 2. I've technically seen every type of thing that this game has to offer by now (with the exception of the trials/raids). But, as I level, I'm taking the time to really experience the whole game; I am sinking my teeth into the storyline. I'm loving all the lore books. I run around and collect skyshards, I play with my crafting, etc.

In fact, just last night, I looked at my map and saw an open space with no icon, and I said "ooh! Let's go see what's over there!" and I found a fun quest to complete.

If someone's just clicking through their quests, and being "efficient", then they're probably not taking time to experience everything the game has to offer. So, if they're skipping it all and then deciding not to sub because there's "no content", then they might as well save themselves the time and just not purchase the game at all. I feel a little bad for them.
The moment you call someone stupid, or try to display your opinion as "fact", you lose all credibility.

What? Thats crazy talk. I am quite certain that the most important thing about a new release is to overlook all the content and rush to the end and a make a post titled "Bored, beat the game, now wut?". Then proceed to list all the extra things you don't want to do.

My wife & I play daily 4-5 hours during the week, and much longer on weekends. We explore every nook & cranny, listen to every word of dialogue, seek out every lorebook, skyshard & treasure without using add-ons or online guides. We don't leave a zone until we have all achievements for it. We also spent most Friday nights exclusively in Cyrodiil. Despite our leisurely pace, we hit VR1 last night. We do both wear the Rings of Mara, so that may have significant impact there. I've also reached 50 Blacksmith & Provisioner, while she is really close on Alchemy & Enchanter during this time. We definitely have not spent 1 minute grinding (Giggity), although we do walk to our destination 90% of the time killing everything on the way, rather than blowing by it all on horseback.

Why would i pay , for time they are using the add stuff to the game?

Now , im still vet 2 , so yeah , i have all the way up to vet 10 ahead of me , but if i get there , and i find there is nothing that want to do , i wont keep paying a sub for , well , nothing.

Im not even blaiming zen , i totally got this game cost back to me already (this was a gift , so i never actually spend anything heh , you got the idea :P) , but , im not paying if i have no reason to do it.

Also , people need to understand a very basic thing , WoW , is out today , 2014 , that is the game you point at and say it is refined and all the other stuff , here is the problem , anyone can just go buy and play that. If zen does not make a product that can compete with WoW today , not back in 2004 , then yeah , they will have a problem. WoW is just one example , there are tons of MMOs out today.
