Why does ZOS not ask for my feedback on why I cancelled my subscription?

Because they really dont care. This game was never ever about he subscription. Nor was it about releasing a quality product ready to play. It was about getting people's 60 or 80 bux up front releasing a game barely playable and hoping to suck a few people into to long term deals before they realized what they had bought.

They made their money on box sales. They will also undoubtedly get a few people to sub. I suspect more than a few, and many of those for longer term deals. But those were the specific target group they were aiming at. So their all gravy to them.

Only issue I see is that I suspect the box sales for this game were a fraction of what they anticipated. So they might try and get a few more random subs here or there, but from the looks of the game and the forum I dont see where those are coming from. At every turn this game has alienated or upset someone along the line. I surely dont see many who had reservation or outright disliked it that had their minds blown by how epic the game was and became an instant fan.

This is not a goodbye thread. I hope you enjoy playing a game which I feel is somewhat broken in many ways, and is not improving in ample time. Good luck to you.

I completely 100% agree with @Crush83 (the OP) in this discussion.

Zenimax should be gathering information about why players are unsubscribing to know where they need to begin focusing their efforts.

It should be a simple poll that shouldn't take longer than 10 seconds to answer.

Sorry to hear you go Crush, thanks for making this discussion before you left.
I appreciate it, even if nobody else does.

Just wondering why you were such a fanboy. No, I wasn't invited by ZOS. Most people weren't in fact.

It sounds to me like you might be friends with an admin, to be quite honest.

    P.S. I am the OP.

Think what you want...as the OP...you are proving your trolling by the simple fact that you're willing to cast aspersions at anyone that may disagree with you, instead of standing by your point.

I MUST be a "fanboi" because I think you're wrong?

I never once said that ZM was "right"...or "great" or " the bestest game in the whole wide world"...but I DID disagree with you , and you felt the need to look up my forum stats (paranoia much) and call me a fanboi...good stuff.

I guess you'ld have to ask the Z that invited me why he/she did it. I personally couldn't tell ya. Kinda cool though.

    *EDIT
Since you edited your's...i have to now edit mine. Caring about a company and wanting them to get better is honorable. your other activities here towards forum posters that question/disagree with you is somewhat debatable.

Leave the "slap in the face" stuff out of your post. It makes you come off as a drama queen who is getting overly emotional. It seriously detracts from the point of your post.

"Slap in the face" and "Shame on you" are two phrases that have exploded recently and are overused to the point of losing all meaning. There is no need for these dramatic catch phrases when your point can stand on its own merits.

I take it you don't understand the literary device called idioms.

This idiom is precisely meant to conjure up images of being disrespected. Being slapped in the face is a sign of disrespect.

    School failed you. I'm sorry.

I know what an idiom is and school served me just fine, thank you. The current proliferation of use of this phrase has brought it to the point of being a crutch more than it is a literary device. Calling it overused is an understatement.

Now, in no way is this your fault. You may very well use the phrase sparingly and save it for select occasions. However, my commentary on the overuse of the phrase and how it conjures up images of overblown and sometimes false outrage still stands.

I'll also point out that I was, in fact, agreeing with the point of your message, if not the way you chose to address it. You, on the other hand, chose to respond with a personal attack. With that, I'll leave you to continue with your thread.

So basically, this is an I'm leaving and cancelled my subscription thread, with a twist, but really not a good one.
Side effects of reading messages on forums can cause nausea, head aches, spontaneous fits of rage, urination due to intense laughter, and sometimes the death of your monitor or other object in throwing range. If you find that you are reading forums more than 24 hours a day, please consult your nearest temporal physicist.

I like the game - but they really should ask for feedback - thats a pretty standard procedure.

Somewhat off topic - IIRC AgeOfConan didn't care either; or their questions were so off the mark I didn't remember being asked.

I was just wondering the same thing when I went to cancel my subscription.

Any company that does not care why a customer is leaving or might be unhappy is not a company that has any intention of offering a customer focused product on a long term basis. This might work in certain spheres of business where repeat sales aren't important, or churn can be relied on, but it's a rather dangerous approach for a subscription based service.

The above makes the assumption that they intend to keep this as a subscription based service. But the more I see of how this game is being handled, the more I question if the subscription is nothing more than a cash grab before the game goes F2P. They really don't care if people unsubscribe because it seems likely they were expecting it all along.

They have more important things to worry about than "why you left" at this point.

That isn't a slap against you... just a simple statement that their time and energy is better spent elsewhere.

Sorry, but by calling my post overblown and overly dramatic, you, in fact, were accusing me of making a bigger deal out of this than it was.

Now you want to agree that "slap in the face" actually fits here? (because it does)

If you want to comment on the overuse of the phrases, I can agree with that, but I used it effectively in this post.

I was very displeased and feeling disrespected when they failed to ask for my feedback about why I was leaving.

I hope you can understand where I'm coming from. Communication 101, don't offend your audience if you want them to hear what you have to say.

You broke that rule first, I broke it second. Let bygones be bygones, and get back to the heart of the discussion.

Probably they are not interested why you leave?
I wouldnt be interested in the exact reasons if i where in charge, this game needs fixing lots and lots of, a consolidated playerbase that like the style of the game and then it can start to analyze churn...
Now you would get all kind of noise, but hardly useful data.

I tend to agree with the OP. I canceled my account about 4 nights ago and was prepared for the usual survey style question screen asking:

    Why are you leaving?
Are you leaving for another MMORPG?
Is there anything we can do to improve your experience?
Do you plan to return to our game?
Would you recommend the game to friends?

    Etc.

I was shocked to see "your sub has been canceled, Thank you"..and that was it.

If they did have the survey upon account's being canceled now, I would venture a guess and say 80% would be fed up with bots/spammers / 20% because of poor CS and bugs blocking progression.

I know I canceled because of the first reason honestly. I kind of lost my faith when I see Port hacks, Speed hacks, and invisible hacks running rampant - and bots taking over. Add in the fact that I was banned for no reason at all last week-A first in 15 years of MMORPG playing for me - well yeah.

I still have active playtime, I'm still playing. If I resub or not depends on how they handle things over the next 10 days or so.

Not having some form of exit poll/questionnaire for people canceling accounts is just poor business. All business should ask for customer feedback, good and bad. That's how they keep customer retention, and attract new customers. No matter how busy they are at the moment, it would have cost them nothing to get the feedback, even if they can't act on if for months. It is simply another sign of an organization that is struggling at the customer service side of the business
  • ZandrenVexx
As I mentioned. I'm here because I wanted (still want) this game to get better. I love TES, but this is not a TES game. Not by a long shot. The fact that they aren't asking for feedback from people who unsubscribe tells me that they don't care.

If you honestly can't comprehend why I'm here bringing up this point, and defending it, then clearly you don't care if they fix the issues either. Sounds to me like, in fact, you are the one trolling me. Now stop derailing my thread with unconstructive comments.

Yeah...figured as much...You derail your own thread by attacking me...personally.

Al I did was ask "why are you still here" others have made much harsher statements...yet me...you attack and post forum account info (as if to "prove" some sort of paranoid conspiracy). You call me a "friend of an Admin"...as if that would be a bad thing...

An interesting attitude for someone that wants the game to get better...I don't think so.

I think you dislike the game, as well as anyone that enjoys it. and therefore you must spread your hate out into the world by hanging around and trolling the forums and anyone that disagrees with you (I've seen you do it in other threads).

You will NOT make the game better form HERE...LOL!! If you believe that...well
    you obviously don't forum much.

That is "why" I disagree with you, and your post. k.

Can't wait for your troll response...

Submitting another customer service ticket to clog up the already bogged down system, isn't my idea of submitting feedback, but I can see how you might call it that. Yes, I dismissed it as a form of "feedback about why I'm quitting" and looked at it more of a last ditch attempt of "if you're quitting because you're hindered by a bug, try our excellent CS system"

But you're right. It sounds like maybe they are suggesting that if I want to leave feedback, just submit a ticket to the CS system. I have a problem with that as well.
