Or, you know, have zone turned off because of all the *** goldspammers... because not wanting to see goldspammers blathering at you constantly is like being a bot... right?

I admit I haven't seen a gold spammer in zone chat yet, maybe because I have only one character and in I play VR zones, same with botters in dungeons, didn't see any.
Is it so common in low level zones?

First- You shouldn't need to send a tell to someone to determine if they are a bot. It is pretty obvious. If ZOS hasn't banned them by now, you reporting them isnt going to do anything.

Secondly. I usually farm dungeon bosses by sitting here, watching a movie and tapping the 1 key for about 45 minutes. I it is very unlikely I would respond to you if you were sending me a whisper. But, I am not botting, so, your plan is not exactly fool proof.

Then your behaviour is functionally indistinguishable from a mindless bit of code. You deserve to be reported and banned as well.

Extremely. Most of the goldspammers are in the first zone. The bots seem to be slowly grinding up the ladder. They're becoming more common in the 30 - 40 delves. Low level delves (anything under 20) will be utterly swarmed, sometimes to the point of unplayability. I've started seeing delves where the boss is camped by 10 or more bots who will immediately slaughter the boss with the starter aedric spear power as it's spawning, and before any real players can get a hit in. Those complaints about players not able to score a hit on a boss are valid.

I'm not sure if every delve in the starting zones is saturated, but every one I've stuck my head in over the last week has been.

Easy way to determine a bot or not is to lure another mob close. If its a bot they will spam attack it just like they would with the boss. If Theres some dude watching a movie pressing one key over and over to farm wont attack it. Theres some good videos on youtube that clearly shows how the code Work. report as many as you can please ^^

swept from his divine head, and all Mundus was shaken.

    1. Bots sit there for a lot longer than 45 minutes.
    2. If he isn't using a third party program to automate his actions then he isn't doing anything wrong.

So no, he doesn't deserve to be reported or banned.

If he and a dozen other people are sitting there spamming a single attack on a single boss (as he admitted to doing) the effect on other players gameplay is exactly the same as that of a bot. So, yeah, he should be banned.
