No, this isn't a rage thread. lol

I'm just curious what the actual process is for dealing with our in-game reports.
Specifically, what do you do when we report bots?

Today I found nineteen (yes 19) bots all running around together in Shadowfen (specifically in the open swamps just north of the Gandranen Ruins). They were on (what was for all intents and purposes) a fixed loop, only stopping their jog to kill whatever respawned in their way.

Before we suffer the trololos, yes, I'm sure these are bots. --Or harvesters or exploiters or whatever you want to call them.
Their names are(/hopefully 'were'):
-ghjjgh
-opper
-aasdww
-eessw
-qqvqq
-wwdss
-aauaee
-deeig
-vvgvv
-woeer
-chjjui
-ggmgg
-icsld
-tuanaa
-yuaaw
-wghyy
-sdfssdd
-qqeea
And my personal favorite: "hahaa"

It's as if that last one was specifically pointed at us legitimate players.
Not cool, man.
Not cool.

So-- what exactly happens with the player reports I submitted for each?
Do you auto-ban them? Do you have to make inquiries with account holders first? Do you have to have a dev go in-game and try to track em down for verification?
How long is the process?
Is there anything we can do to help? Should we include more specific information with the reports like exact times, places, etc?
In your ticket, it says "Please include whatever details you feel are important."
Umm.. shouldn't we be writing the details that YOU feel are important?

HELP ME HELP YOU.

If any/all of these are questions that you can't answer lest the exploiters learn your trade secrets, I'd be content with a simple "Yes, they get banned and good riddance" from you guys. :]

Respectfully,

My point exactly in my post, Zenimax needs to tell us at least "something" and not just "work in progress".

Naming and shaming bots on forums is against the terms of service. Just so you know in case it gets removed.

Ultimately all we know is report the users in game, nothing else is exposed.

The in-game reporting system is not just set up for bots and gold spammers. It is there for any type of activity that a user may be up to that is counter to the TOS, such as abusive language, exploiting etc. So that being said, there are no specific reporting rules tailored to bots in particular.

    Really?
I feel like the "players" listed above might have very little by way of opinion on the matter...

That said: hey "hahaa," how does my thread make you feel? Are you upset that I'm naming/shaming you here on the forums?
You didn't really seem to care/notice when I did it in-game, so....

I really don't understand why people like you get upset when another person in the community does the NICE THING and tries to prevent you from getting banned from the forums.

You ARE breaking ToS. You are likely right - they're probably bots. However, that doesn't make breaking ToS okay. This player was trying to prevent you from getting in to trouble.

A lot of this may subside when the free period comes to an end. Then comes all the phishing emails in droves to steal your account details. Just hope ZOS has bought up all the similar sounding domain names in advance????

@Sidney -- I apologize for having allowed my post to be misinterpreted; it was meant as a joke.
The "Really?" was without sarcasm, though in context it definitely seems to be nothing but.

I was unaware of the ToS regarding such things and was merely marveling at the irony of "shaming" a computer program.

@GossiTheDog -- If you, too, believed my reply flavored with disagreeable angst, I apologize.

This conversation, as stated, is not intended as a rage thread.
I actually am curious what we, the players, can do to help out the already-inundated folks at Zeni in dealing with these fiendish metal and plastic friends-o-ours.

I always--and will likely continue to--spend an inordinate amount of time reporting bugs, breaks and bots, and am simply curious as to how effectual my reporting really is.

Ohh I see :) Thanks for the clarification.

I think really the best thing we can do is just continue to report them in game and use the screenshot button.

When you open up a report chat usually disappears, so look in the bottom left corner and you'll see a small yellowish arrow and you can click it for your chat to re-appear.

Then you can click "submit screenshot" button and it's supposed to automatically capture/submit it with your report.

It may take some time for them to get things sorted out as they do have a lot of work cut out for them but I'm sure they are hiring more and continuing to better their processes.

So I ran into another mob of international harvesters this morning and decided against taking another hour out of my day to record and report them all.

I'll keep reporting them in 1's and 2's, but that stint of 19 at a time was both too disheartening and draining.

Reporting the gold spammers in both chat and email are easy enough because of the built-in "Report Player" functions, but doing so for the bots who are constantly on the move is a tough gig.

I'm gonna keep bumping this bad boy until I hear something from one of you fine folks at Bethimax, so feel free to chime in whenever. :]

The question stands: what more can we do to help?

    HELP ME HELP YOU.

The only thing I know that happens if I report a bot or gold spammer is that I get my email spammed by freaking Zenimax. I have tried to unsubscribe from everything email related to ESO through account settings to no avail. I have at least 1 email from Zenimax and sometimes multiple emails for each report I have made about the bots and spammers. At this point I have given up on reporting these ***, because it was either that or add Zeni to my spammers list.

I know, I have the same problem, I love the way the tickets say "closed" 30 seconds after I report them....
