I made the perfect looking character... Then realised I assigned her to wrong faction.. Argh!

I made a High Elf female, I don't know what I did exactly to get her to look so awesomely striking. But she is, she looks both beautiful and stern at the same time. She looks like a soldier for the Aldmari Dominion as she should be... But when I came out of Cold Harbour, it was to discover she was assigned to the Ebonheart Pact! Argh!

I forgot to change the faction, and if I did I re-do, I just know I won't get that perfect combo of features again. As they had come about by accident in the first place.

I'm sure there are a few of you here that know of this pain too. Oh the trails of character creation.

Edit: any possibility of having her moved to the Aldmari Dominion?

But I prefer to be lore aligned...what sort of back story would she have if aligned to the Pact?!

I was working on a wood elf, and was getting frustrated with not getting it right. So I ended up switching over to different races, to discover what ever your slides are at it stays there ... And there she was, that high elf!

No, one of the reasons she looks so cool, because it's look like she actually has a unique character... Not just a generic barbie doll.

For me, it was a Bosmer archer that ended up in the Covenant. Fortunately. this was in beta, so I could just roll with it without it being permanant... but it was definitely a headdesk moment.

I share this pain. I've mistakenly made characters in the wrong faction a couple times, even though the first thing I always do is select the faction I want to play. I've found that, at some point during my process of character creation, the faction might reset without my input. o__o Not good.

Make it up yourself. Maybe she simply lives there? There's no lore, anywhere, ever, that has said all Altmer belong to the Dominion, or any other race is tied to specific factions. You'll get Khajiit in the Covenant and Imperials in the Dominion and it makes sense without anyone needing to ask why.

That said, because of things like this and beta wipes, screenshot everything before you create. If something goes horribly wrong, you can recreate without trouble.

I didn't know that could happen! I wonder... No, in this case I think it was entirely my own fault. Sigh.

I'd agree that a faction change option for a character would be something very handy, especially during the first levels when you don't know what awaits - not to speak of mistakes like the OP described, those happen to all of us.

I wonder if we could get such, e.g. as a purchasable item (ingame or item shop, I wouldn't care!) to start a "faction change quest" which in my view would be the best implementation. This quest obviously could only be done if you didn't start a campaign yet.

Same goes for guilds, in my view - but that's most likely quite a bit more complicated.

Meh, we can all dream, right ?

I do know this pain!

I've actually started creating a series of screenshots for my characters looks now.

It takes about 5-6 screenshots total but it's worth the work so I can remake my characters in the future.

I requested a feature in beta where we could copy settings from our already created characters (or better yet, save a "pool" of looks to select from).

The pool of looks would be nice because we could create a bunch of our own presets!

I feel your pain. I did this earlier today when making an Altmer sorcerer. I usually spend 1/2 an hour to an hour creating each character to give them an unique look. But, I accidently put her in the pact since that is where all my other characters are.

I guess the option that I like for it would be to take numerous screenshots, so, if a player did make their character in the wrong faction, they would have a reference to recreate the character.

I did the same mistake! Spent loads on my char. My first char is my main and I just play one! Already had decided ebonheart with my friends so that was it.

After I was done, even with the newbie area......I was in the sissy Dominion!
So I had to delete and redo my char and guess what....someone took my name lol!!!!!

Then again, I came up with a better one.
Ebonheart Pact rocks. The Honor code suits me perfectly. Sure, the pact kills, maims, hurts, and all that cool stuff, but they do it with honor!

I've long since gotten used to her being in the wrong faction now. I tried a few times to remake her, to get the look exact. But I never was happy with those. So I've made up a Ebonheart Pact for her, she's a high elf originally from Solitude. And she is badass!
