Hi there,

Here's my ESO story,
It starts in November, 2013 when I got selected for the 2nd round of Betas. I dedicated 5 weekends to testing the game for them, reporting bugs and supplying my feedback from then until release. On pre-release I find that a lot of the bugs I found had been fixed, however some still remained. I accepted this as most games on release have quite a few bugs and continued playing. 17 days later (today), after being affected by the bank bug (losing slots, items, and 30k+ gold that was banked) 3 times and reporting several other bugs that still had not been fixed from the betas, I ordered a pizza. I got up, paid for the pizza, sat down and watched some TV remaining logged into the game. When I went back to the game I saw I had been logged out with the error "Another user has logged into this account"... which makes me think immediately that my account has been hacked. I try to log in again (to kick out the hacker) but it says my credentials are incorrect. So I go to the account server to change my password quickly and report this incident and find an error "You have been suspended from the site.". There was no justification for this that was given to me, simply I have been suspended from the site.

So after giving Bethesda $80, a 1/2 year subscription, 5 weekends of my time to test their game, and after putting up with all the *** that comes with a new release of a game, they randomly suspend my account with no e-mail to me, no message in game, no notice at all.

As a developer of safety critical systems all I can say is if I released a product with as many bugs in it as this game I'd be fired on the spot. And if I alienated my few supporters after releasing a software product with this many bugs by arbitrarily stopping them form using my software I would hope nobody would ever hire me again.

PS. Thanks @ZOS_JessicaFolsom for being active on the forums and for controlling the downward spiral that started when people were reporting the bank bug individually.


In order to get someone to pay attention to this post and not just have it swept under the rug I linked as many ZOS people as I could find on it.

***UPDATE***
I like many of the rest of you were unbanned last night after being suspended without notice or cause. My response from customer service was unsatisfactory at best. I'm posting here because if you other people that were falsely banned agree with me, I want you to request the same things from your CS reps.

What pissed me off about this banning was not the fact that I was accidentally banned during a round of much needed mass banning but that I was not contacted in any way about it, that there was no sticky post on the forums by an admin about it (Until I requested one) and that people on the forums were allowed to talk *** about the large number of us that were requesting our accounts back. This act along with the incredibly slow response to several exploits has put me on the list of players that will not be playing past the 30 day free period unless some compensation is provided to me for my lost game time and lost play time.

My recommendation is:
1 day free game time (to make up for the 1 day you cost me)
1 day of double experience and drop rates (to make up for the 1 day of play you cost me)
A public apology on twitter to all those who were falsely banned (most important one to me)

I guarantee you that continuing actions such as this WILL cause your company to fail unless you make a serious attempt at regaining the trust of players you've alienated.

    I'm also hoping to hear something reasonably soon, since my account has also been suspended I have no idea why. Could it be a consequence of the bank bug? That's the only thing I can come up with.

    I haven't received any notice or explanation for the suspension, nor any email or acknowledgment of the support request I submitted via the website..

    I still haven't received any word either, sent another ticket

    I admit to farming motifs from logging/in out but you never got them every time and sometimes it took hours to find one, also it has been up on Youtube since day 1, so I didn't think anyone thought it would be an exploit, has been posted since April 4th never got fixed or anything, Ive been doing it for the past 3 days. Just thought it would've been fixed in the first patch if it was possible to do the first day the game came out. Also found out that the way the boxes/chests open and close have been in game since beta and day 1.

    To reiterate for any mods that might be perusing this thread: I was in Siliumm, reported 5 apparent afk botters on the boss spawn. I only participated in one boss killing and then moved on. Went to Daggerfall to sell/deconstruct my full inventory. Got kicked to character select while deconstructing at the woodworking bench. Loaded back in, continued deconstructing, then got kicked to login screen. "Account information is incorrect, please try again". Multiple attempts yielded the same results. I went to my account page to check for problems and got the "You have been suspended from the site". I then came to the forums to look for help and found this thread.

    I haven't have any problems except for the occasional falling through the world, and for some reason was banned today. This comes just as I completed my 10 page research paper for school 4 days early so I could play all weekend.

    I've also been suspended today. I have not cheated, exploited, botted, or duped anything. I don't generally participate in the ESO economy. I'm hoping this can be resolved soon. I've filed a few tickets and a phone ticket with no response. Also, waiting on the phone in queue for customer support.

    This is a load of BS. I have never duped anything. So far, here is what I have seen happen in the game:

    Zenimax has broken the guild functionality numerous times. I have (had at this point) a level 33 toon that just barely managed to afford a horse upgrade.

    I have no gold to speak of, no mats to speak of, and the only trades I made with people I didn’t know in RL are motifs that I tended to find commonly.

    For god knows what reason, Zenimax keeps mailing me a new set of map scrolls, mara rings, and pets about every 4-7 days. I had assumed these were for new characters at the time, but now who knows. I’m going to go out on a limb and guess they will accuse me of “duping” those, even though Zenimax is the only one that can generate them and they are nontradable and can't be guild banked. This should be verifiable through mail logs (if the dingleberry that wrote the mail subroutines isn't a total tard like the one that wrote the guild bank coding).

    Zenimax has repeatedly broken the bank to which I lost my upgraded slots numerous time, and the mats they contained.

    Now they have banned me for simply playing the game. I have gone out of my way to report teleport bot hackers and gold spammers. I saw a post on REDDIT indicating customer service was in some cases banning the person reporting and not the person causing the TOS violation. Sweet!

    This makes me livid. *** poor programming, and poorly implemented bans. What a great combination to kill a game in its infancy.

    This makes me so mad, even if i am un-banned, I don’t know if I’d be comfortable investing any more of my time in it for fear of another unannounced and undeserved ban because of bad coding or bad training on the part of Zenimax.

    I look forward to a response, and I look forward to sharing it on Reddit and other places. I think it is time Zenimax enjoy the rewards of its customer service... be it good or bad.

    Ten-to-one this is tied to the bank wipe bug that they didn't fix in beta. I was hit with it 3 days ago (ticket 140416-024199) and received a re-mailing of all the pre-order/imperial items (still sitting in the mail box because lets face it, those vanity pets sound effects would drive a normal person insane in hours). In that ticket i pointed out that the first alert i got that something was amiss was receiing the re-mailing, and mentioning it in guild. Someone in guild said that that had happened to a couple of their friends right after their bank had been wiped due to the bug (a bug which i personally reported in beta), and i should check my bank.... which i then noticed was wiped and empty (still missing 30 slots and 13,500-13,800 gold).

    CS clearly didn't do a damn bit of investigating anything; their CS so far puts Verant/Sigils "the customer is always wrong, and we will beat that into their heads" methods to shame for ineptness. At this point, even if ZOE pulls their head out and fixes this crap, they may very well have gotten the last penny from me they'll every get....ZOE or Bethesda.

    heh, yesterday I got kicked while in the middle of a dungeon, for some sort of 'message limit passed' (implying spam, while gold sellers spam their butts off every time I go town to stash or manage my inventory) while hardly talking at the time cause we were killing crap. logged back in with no problems, but maybe the system thinks some of you guys were spammers if you didn't get any of the bank or mail bugs.

    similar issue, game says account information incorrect went to change password, you have been suspended from the site, only thing I can think of, is in my guild my role is to organize guild bank and I had noticed there were 5 stacks of 1 or 2 trait gems I had removed combined and replaced to make more room in guild bank (cant combine in guild bank without receiving an error). Only thing I have a duplicate of is 4 mud crabs from the pre-order bonus from each time the bank bug tried to nail me (and all 4 are still in the mailbox)

    I have not been suspended, but my husband has. Similarly, we have been ES fans for YEARS. He was an early beta tester and I came into the Beta later. We each paid for 6 months, bought imperial editions, bought the big beautiful set of books for my birthday. We each have spent lots of times (enjoyable time) discussing character creation and the game. We have several characters and share items across accounts through in game ways such as mailing and trade. He has done a lot of crafting...maybe something tipped it as seeming to go against the TOS, I don't know, but if the system can't tell legitimate play from people who are exploiting the game, then there is a SEVERE problem.

    We have also have been bothered by the extra imperial things being sent to us(!) how could that be OUR fault, get your programming right, lost bank spots, and now lost gaming time together because he has been banned with no explanation. This may be the last Bethesda game I ever buy. If he doesn't get his account back, I'll definitely drop mine. I think I might even go and throw out every single tee-shirt, game, and book I have in the house that is from ES if this is the way Bethesda treats all its players. For those of you saying, "if you were banned you must have done something wrong" I hope for your sake you don't do something wrong unknowingly OR don't get kicked out because you "look suspicious" It really feels very crappy for me to be sitting here with my husband feeling bad that his account was suspended. Plus, I feel like we are losing the money we paid to play the game. Not good.

    UPDATE:

    We are very happy that the suspended account was reversed. It was a very stressful evening and we are glad they quickly recognized that the suspensions to kick-out bad players also hurt a lot of legit players. I seriously considered how disappointing it would be to cancel the subscriptions... I think it great that so many people did step up and point out that they were wrongly suspended. For those who said stop complaining, all I can say is that it takes a lot of interaction on the forum so that you know that 1)you are not alone and 2) for the developers to see there is really a problem with who was suspended. Many thanks to people who did step up and post to the forums so we could see we weren't alone AND to ESO for acting quickly.

    Friends account was banned Ref Number #140427-098553.

    He's level 10 and had like 500g to his name, was playing at my house just yesterday after not playing for a week or more. Tried to login today said account info was wrong went to the website to check said his account has been suspended. I don't see how he did anything wrong since we played the whole day together to get him to lv10 for pvp. I didn't cop the ban but he did? Only even remotely possible reason i can see for him getting banned is maybe that i was helping him do world bosses/dolmens to get him fast exp? Is that even a reason for a ban?
