HACKERS IN PVP ( Wall cliping )

Walking through walls isn't a hack its a bug that sometimes occurs to player after zoning into campaign. All structures wall s simply don't exist for you and you can walk right through them. I've had this happen to me and had to relog to fix it, also dying fixes it. And yes abusing it is bannable!
I have to give a credit to AD pack of Vampires with VR10 Night Mistress leading them (seriously VR10 10 days after the official release?).

Night Mistress II - v12 Night Blade AD

@limeli8, I've seen that happen too (the geography fails to load in your zone) however it's also possible to effectively recreate that by enabling noclip.

You can also get into keeps to get scrolls by having a member create a character in different faction, guest to same campaign, and then pull your team up walls using Dragon Knight chain skill. That exploit has been around for, like, a year.

Just because they don't respond to every single whining post on the forums does not mean they read every single post and are working on it.

Life does not revolve around you.

Not to mention it'd be 3million times more helpful to report the actual name through in game reporting.

Didn't you troll on World of Warcraft forums too?

I was googling some strategy on keep combat tactics and found a site were guilds traded keeps for emperor points. So cheating is always something that some people want to stroke there epeen. Very sad these are probably the same folk who cheat at playing cards to.

I would propose that Zeni re-enable the original API pre-launch that enabled everyone to see magicka, stamina, and buffs of your opponent.

Those individuals who are using Cheat Engine or similar programs to have unlimited Stamina, Magicka, and ultimate to maintain constant Unstoppable, Absorb Spell, or other immunity or reflective spells up will be easy to detect, screenshot, fraps, and REPORT.

At this stage of AvA, who gives a crap if you can see your opponent's stuff, because anonymity allows exploitation!

They need server side positioning checks. This will probably cause some stress on the servers but it is needed.

Well, bans are happening: Checked a popular botter forum, and saw bitter complaints regarding botters getting perma-bans.

But it does seem that ZeniMax is doing little better than slapping Band-Aids on a sucking chest wound.

Saw this month-old post in a botter forum regarding bot teleporting; its more than a month old though:
Yea, I've done similar in at least 1/2 dozen games over the last ten years.
    • When ever a dev is foolish/lazy enough to allow this in the client
    • Often times finding ways to get around server side checks/sync when they do have it (where you would normally "rubber band" back).
    • Why bother waiting to run, path, clear obstacles, etc., when you can just teleport?

exploiters and cheaters who already reached zenith in pvp now are griefing, trying to make more people quit out of frustration, they then can go on the forums and say...'pvp sucks in eso'.

wish they would just leave and move on to trash the next game

Does ZOS need to take some blame sure, but no the blame rest squarely on the people abusing the system. Why are they doing it, because they can. Any game can be hacked no matter how secure you make the server there will always be a way to exploit it.

You want this really stopped then they need to close off the ability for any add on as well. I'm guessing though if they did this then you would be the first one hear complaining that you can't run any mods at all.

It's a give an take system. If you want more user controlled functionality then you will have more hackers/bots/cheaters/exploiters. If you want them to be gone completely then your game will be so locked down you might as well make it 100% solo player and even then people will still try to exploit the system.

You seem to have exactly 0 clue if you are here comparing UI mods (that are not much more than "skins" for the 2D UI you see on your screen) vs memory/client-server-communication injections. Seriously. If you can't understand the difference between client side and server side control of things in MMO and come here to talk again about UI addons... go home. please.

Ou well let me explain to the ignorant. EVERYTHING IMPORTANT should be controlled in every mmo on SERVER SIDE - that is character location, their movement and clipping (so characters can't fly/walk through walls/walk underground and use speedhacks), their recource availability (so one can't hack their own computer memory to gain infinite ultimate/mana/hps/damage), loot rolls, exp, stats and skills they have etc. Whereas we see that some of those things are in fact here also server controlled (exp, loot etc), MANY important checks are left to users client side (character movement being the prime thing here atm). Everything that is left for the client to control and check is pretty much easily hackable = hacked already.

It's AS STUPID AS IT WOULD BE TO WRITE ONLINE CASINO SYSTEM WHERE CLIENT COMPUTER DECIDES WHAT CARDS ONE GETS ... oh let me see ... 5th ACE in poker game ... 1234th time in a row! ... it would be absurd. Yet, ZO thinks they can pull this thing off...

On the other hand ... things that are actually controlled server-side ... are far more complicated to hack/abuse... and MUCH MORE EASILY AND FASTER FIXABLE when discovered ... but the big problem right now is that because so many important things have been left for client side ... it's rather harder, more complicated and far more work demanding process to make things being controlled server side (which would be ideal and only actually working solution) ... but essentially this means rewriting big parts of game systems and the game engine.

Of course there are many things that can never really be server controlled normally, like game world models and graphics rendering and aiming etc - so hacks that let you see through walls or see enemy players as big white blobs and even all kind of auto-targeting systems and whatnot remains still possibility... and to prevent those it's also good to have some working warden or anti-hacking system in place. Buuuuut it's very different if your enemy can see through walls (if walls were made transparent by hack for example) vs actually walking through them.

It's just HORRIBLE GAME SYSTEM DESIGN at 2014. ... It's almost like none of the design team actually played any MMO-s ever before if they designed the entire thing this way as they did it. I mean like they never ever saw any hacking and bots running in other games if they failed to design better system from scratch and stepped into the same pile of poo that oh so many have previously stepped into. Smart people learn from others mistakes so they don't repeat them - ZO obviously dismissed this wise thought and repeated the very same *** once more over that almost everyone had done before.

Today In Dawnbreaker pvp a hacker was able to clip threw the ground and keep walls to steal a elder scroll. this hacker came up threw the keep floor took the scroll and went back into the floor and sat there to taunt us then he came up threw the floor and went into a wall. then he came back up threw the floor again where he was killed by 30+ players waiting for him. something needs to be done ASAP about these hackers. in chat ive herd about the speed hackers but have never seen any hacking until today. myself im not going to pay to play a game with hackers. to me this is crazy how do you release a game these days with out a anti cheat?

I was at EU Dawnbreaker tonight. And I saw what I thought were speed hackers. Got bit pissed when some of them just landed on top of me while on the horse and knock me down.

Went to play an alt at Khenarthi's Roost, and there were half dozen people roaming the lands at high speeds with their heads only showing above the ground. (other players there were normal).

Given that the game SHOULD run on the server with data verification and not accepting such primitive hacks that were used back in 1998 in UO for heaven sake, ZOS needs to get their act together NOW. Forget about the new PvE areas and address the game breaking issues.

Also closing Cyrodiil until the issue is fixed, or else the scores and "Emperor" ratings are getting very badly manipulated. (adding also the Emperor point trading that is going on behind the scenes between big guilds).

I for one going to put a hold on TESO for the next few months and wait for the PS4 version, even if I have to start from fresh. It will have less (if any) bots and going to be clean of those stupid hacks and the parasites. Because their OS is more strict and actually not much can be done there to manipulate a heavily DRM system. Might go and play WT Ground Forces and War of the Roses until then it seems.

Which Dawnbreaker? (EU/US) What fort/temple are they at? What is your faction? Did you get a name? When did this happen?

Hmm, you didn't provide anywhere near enough information for even the most skilled CS or QA employee to go off of and you wonder why you don't get a response. Next time you go to a mechanic make sure and take a bus then just repeat "but my engine's making funny noises!" over and over and see how far it gets you.

    There is only one.

There is no client-side anti-cheat. You can hack the game client all you want with your only concern being player reports. There are players using minor hacks to imitate dodge-rolling and sprinting without actually consuming stamina to gain an advantage.

Yep, the only anti-cheat appears to be GMs catching such folks in the act, or acting on player reporting. And there's little chance of that being able to keep up with the sheer volume of hackers.

All of the above is why I advocate re-enabling the full API. Let's see with our own eyes just who is hacking, with logs, and fraps, and screenies. We could have pics, and hey, it did happen! That would enable some righteous bans. Not to mention we will be able to document the broken skills, unbalanced abilities, and straight out gamebreaking mechanics.

And spare me the whines about bots. They work perfectly well without the full API.

Wall clipping is also a bug. It has happened to me twice, changing from Home campaign to Guest campaign. I would see no walls, but could see lanterns and other objects around the keeps/gates. I could pass through the walls.

The bug doesn't let you use wayshrines and the map is nearly blank. Just 1 or 2 combat icons, no other map icons at all.

I did a bug report both times it happened.

part of the problem is that no one takes the time to report actual names in pvp...sometimes it is tough to get the names. You have to report the names of the characters or they don't know where to look. Keep reporting them and include their names. you can't just say "ppl are doing this and that"... they need names. Put yourselves in their shoes.

But I agree that sometimes there are things that can be done on a larger scale that can be done to prevent certain hacks.
