What's the current NA version number - I have 964485 and keep getting timeouts time and time again - been trying to log in for last 3 hours what's the go here

Same thing. Tried to log in and couldn't, go time out codes. Then closed the game and restarted launcher and the new patch started downloading.

Maybe it's worth changing the error code to let you know there is a patch that you need to download before you can log on?

O.k this just worked for me after all this time.

Ran game consultant from within launcher and let it do it's thing - on game consultant click check for updates and it tells you a new version of it is available then I closed launcher and clicked check for updates on game consultant again then launched launcher again and received 4 updates and now playing

Just fixed my set up,
Right click on the ESO icon on your desktop, on the pop-up window at the bottom click on Properties. Next go to Shortcut tab and look at the "Target" line. Remove all the words after "/InstallOrRun" Go to General tab then remove the word "Beta" at the end of the little title window. Click on Apply > OK, close the window > click on ESO icon and go play.

My launcher started updating while I was trying to log in... it just lags a bit, allows you to click play, then in the background starts downloading the new patch.

Just open your launcher and wait.

The only issue is it takes the launcher a while to realise there's a patch... just open it and wait.

Here's a fix which is the ONLY thing that has allowed me to start patching in 7 hours of attempts so far (still downloading on my slow connection at the moment). Follow his instructions very carefully because it involves adding a line of text to an important file:

Run Bethesda.net_Launcher from the game directory and the update should start working, like Brittany_Joy said in a previous comment.

Fingers crossed. After trying everything last night I went to sleep, woke up this morning and it's patching. Maybe the people suggesting there is just a chance of it working are right, and now many have patched it's working for me.

Edit - I tell a lie, that just got me to 209 patch manifest error.

I had the same issue. That fixed it.

Thank you! After todays patch, I ran the launcher, it said it was 100% up to date, but I kept getting Log In Timeout errors whenever I tried to log in. Came to forums, read your post, did the manual update check, and then the launcher finally updated. Tyvm for providing the answer

Thanks for the IP address for the hosts file, it has worked for me!

Pretty poor they didn't have the launcher server working (at least on that IP address), it needs more redundancy.

I have this problem too but I just go to \Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client and choose eso. exe It will run the game immediately don't have to go pass the Lancher -*-

I don't know why it happen to me tho , I did updated it just for 3 hour ago then i quit the game to get some dinner and then come back just got error -___-

Thank you Kazarr - this is the only thing that has worked for me, too. Simply waiting for the launcher to update itself was an excercise in futility. Hopefully the game will now launch...

This worked for my guildies and I. Technically savvy people only. If you aren't comfortable mucking around with windows files, then don't. Wait for Zeni to fix this nonsense. They are going to have to.

If you are getting the time out error, your game is failing to patch to the newest version. I followed these instructions and it worked fine.

Thank you. That's the only thing that was effective for me. Curiously I had characters on both servers and although the EU one patched fine, the NA one would not. Now it works.
