Will current problems continue in console release

so as a golden opportunity for consoles, ESO can fix a lot of what is wrong at the moment. There will probably be fixes for bots, farming, loot stealing, bank bugs, the dungeon chests, etc. Do you think console release will have same stuff as the official PC/Mac release? or will it have everything fixed that was was fixed in the PC/Mac game at the time of console release? A lot of the bugs and game breakers are hurting the ESO economy, so will console have a better economy that isnt damaged by as much gold selling and people doing game breakers like the killing wolf packs in vet zone, earning 20k gold an hour?

They'll have to fix a lot of this for console release or its going to be a nightmare for them.

Not to bring the dev team down or anything, but if it takes them this long to sort out a couple of bugs i doubt the game will be bug free once the console version hits.

exactly, they have to, I just wonder if they will. Like will console get ESO 1.0, or ESO 1.# whatever they are up to on Mac/PC...i mean the consoles are being released later that PC/Mac so that also probably means we will get craglorn months later as well right?

Your idea of a 'couple' is vastly different from my version of couple. In your terms, there's a couple people in China.

lets not turn this into a hatorade post on Devs, I'm just curious on the original question of basically console will be 1.0 or 1.#

First off any MMO will never be bug free. Just won't happen.

OP- The console may not have some of these issues. They are on different servers. 1 of the biggest differences is that consoles all have same specs, PC's don't. There will be bugs yes. But as far as adding in patches that are for PC 1.# will most likely not happen unless it is just QoL stuff. Reason being that some of these bugs may not be present on console version (no one knows.) and pushing fixes for bugs that aren't there can really break stuff even more. Not to mention im sure they have a whole separate development team for consoles.

I doubt they will successfully pass submission with the current bugs that blocks progression at so many points in the game.

Console will have more complaints thats for sure since mmos are a new thing for the console players. The Dcuo forums for console were swamped with angry people, twice as bad as the pc forum.

so do the identical specs for consoles make it really easy to write patches vs patchign the Pc/mac version?

Seems like it would have to, because you don't have to account for various hardware differences in the code.

Easy, consoles will be delayed. FFXIV is out now, why wait.

The answer is no. Sony and Microsoft won't allow the game to be release the way it was on PC/Mac. Especially Sony, they have to keep their PR satisfaction rate high.

The client code does not have to address PC hardware differences. If it had to do that it would be a complete nightmare.

Anything that is hardware specific is handled by API calls, drivers, Direct X etc.

So, patches for PC are no harder/easier to write than for console. And, obviously as it's an online game there will be no problem delivering patches to consoles.

But, as already pointed out, Microsoft and Sony do not let any old crap be released to consoles. Well, the game itself might be crap but it needs to at least work. I doubt if either of them are going to let constant weekly patches be the norm.

They probably won't experience as many issues. There will be less players, which means less server lag, which means they mightn't ever experience all the issues we're having. Disappearing bank items/characters and many of the other issues seems to be from server stress.

Why should the console owners miss out on all the fun that we're having?!! ;)
    NA Mega-server
Basilthwaite - male Nord Templar Ebonheart Pact (unwittingly looks like Hulk Hogan. Trying to find some bright gold breeches to match the persona.)

Arwen Basilrond - female Wood Elf Nightblade Aldmeri Dominion (this character is smoken', but she's been advised to quite due to 'elf reasons!)

Sir Basil Ozarian - male Imperial Dragonknight Daggerfall Covenant (this character is titled, but not entitled!)

I would bet that smoothing out the game is the exact reason the console version is taking so much longer than the PC version. With all of the complaints the PC version is getting, giving the game as it is now to a console audience that isn't used to how buggy games like this can be at release would be a disaster.

Like someone else said PC is beta for console version, but realistically PC release is beta for PC version as well.

thats what I c, lots of delays. I ve said once, they must be extremly fast, but they are extremly slow.

At least lets see if they keep their promise about content every 4 weeks. And here is the catch, consoles will have the same content as PC? It will limit the PC joy allot if we have the same content... because consoles are consoles and with lots of limits! They already struggle with their HDD...

If the game needs 30 gigs and each content patch is 1-2 gigs, then consolers will need an exclusive hdd for it...

I feel you Perseas. That is the one thing that scares me about this game. The game already has a *** quick-slot system to accommodate consoles(only one button for potions, siege weapons, and food? are you kidding me? there are more types of siege weapons alone than there are quick slots); and in my opinion the 5 spell max had to do with console as well. (although I understand why many believe this to be false)

I can live with some compromises but i really hope it doesn't go too far. They should just design some things for PC only and for console only. Having the current quick-slots for PC is just silly given the amount of items needed to be quick slotted in PvP.

The spell bar is a HUUUGE problem for a summoner sorc! 2 slots for pets, 1 for shield and 1 for heal... We only have 1 spell for dps! And the pets are not that very damaging!! They just keep the damage off u.

Also 5 slots is not good for a combination of spells for more than 2 skill trees.

What's on your second skill bar?

I have a dps staff that I never use. Because I have dps spells and when I turn it from 1 ---> 2 I loose my pets!! And all the mobs running to me! I die very fast. In order to keep my pets, I have to use again 2 slots for pets.

They have to expand the spell bars for the PC. Its not convenient to change 1-2-1-2-1.... I dont use joysticks, I use a keyboard and this system is like piano... no fun

Eso is the first game that forces PC act like console in the spell bars. Even dragon age with HUGE spell bars in the pc, was made for consoles, but it have a different system.

The pc spell bar is very limited the way it is now. We need at least 3-4 more spell box's, overall 8-9 per bar. Or at least the way I imagine it for my sorc, 2 for pets, 1 for shield, 3 for dps and 2 heal spells (1 area and 1 dot) to be perfect and enjoyable.

I wish them to ubber fail with their console launch... So they focus in pro gaming, instead for noobish consoles. And that, because they meddling PC with the kiddy consoles and fanboys.

Perseas i agree about that with summoner sorc. I play a sorc too and I just stay clear of pets in general besides the ultimate pet. If i only have 5 spells, and two of them are pets, I don't even know that's just strange to me.

Perma buffs and pets should have their own bars. FACT.
It is a clumsy and poor ui to cater for console players.
Seeing as they're the larger market/playerbase here /sarcam.

Yes the console release will magically fix everything.

    No.

If anything the console release will have more bugs, and will result in fixes for the pc version taking longer to produce because they will have to do them for more platforms.

Plus M$ requires insane certification checks and charges huge amounts for patches, so they will be VERY penalized for patching the xbox version that often, resulting them in working on longer, more tested patches, rather tehn quicker fixes taht pc users would prefer.

(Sony isn't nearly as bad, they pretty much allow publishers to handle the patching on their own end.)

PPS: This game is incredibly polished and bug free compared to the vast majority of mmos i've played, so these complaints aren't really justified. Sure report the issues, but these types of topics aren't helpful.

re: sony/ms will block a release?

    lol. omg lol.

    You guys are pretty funny.

First off, they have right/desire/interest to do that.

They will certify eveyr title a major publisher (Like Bethesda/Zenimax) releases. Regardless of how bad/bugged the game is. Tons of incredibly worse and buggier titles already exist on both consoles, pretty silly to think it would suddenly change.

All that matters is the publisher, nothing else. M$ and Sony make sure the game runs and they get there cut, thats it, nothing more.
