They did this yesterday. They just shut it down to prevent server crashing and turned it back on in a few hours after everyone went to sleep.

It's not a "single server" you bloody idiot. There are hundreds of servers. They work as an ad-hoc cluster. Every MMO does this. The only difference is that there aren't separate clusters.

Yes the Mac client memory leak has been around since beta. As far as I know I haven't seen ZOS specifically mention this issue publicly. It sucks bad especially in Cyrodiil. I hope this has a high priority on their to fix list.

@Moonraker‌ on the Mac technical subforum has taken the lead on this issue.

I really enjoy the game but the bugs, crashes, long load times, endless load screens, and broken quests are really making this game unplayable. Which stinks because i have really been enjoying the game up to this point. If by the day before my free play runs out they have not addressed and fixed said issues then i will cancel my sub, but i will give them until the free play runs out.Come on ZOS, had such high hopes for this game.

The Mac client memory issue was added to the ZOS - Known Technical Issues (Mac) a while back, just to clarify that. Other Mac specific bugs that existed were included previously and also added to the Patch Notes. Those have now been resolved. The memory issue is the last main remaining Mac bug which is being looked into.

From what I have seen there have been no PC client technical posts in patch notes or mentioned in Known Issues.

Exaggerating the current situation does little to get things fixed. As anyone can see from the crash reports posted to the Cyrodiil Memory Crash thread, the average crash in Cyrodiil big battle AvA is 25-45 minutes. The average outside of PvP is 2-3 hours. Longer in quieter times and zones.

Given that the first mass beta test for the Mac ESO client was 07 Feb 2014 it's just over two months, in just three mass beta test weekends before launch. The PC client has been in beta testing for over a year before launch.

When memory issues in Cyrodiil big battles were reported and data collected (this was most notable on the last mass beta weekend) the developers looked at the issue and made some changes which were added for the live launch build. These made some improvements.

It's well documented now there is still these (too) frequent crashes in big battles PvP. They have acknowledged the problem (in the Known Issues) and they continue to work towards fixing them.

The crashes at or shortly after login are not related to the memory crash which again can be seen from the reports and noted in that thread. They are most likely to be associated with the wider issues posted cross-platform including here.

the programmer of ESO OSX version had replied to me , and from their answer , its not gonna be fixed in 1 month , lol , too bad u decided to quit when the issue isn't not fixed after the first free month , thou are not gonna see anything else like ESO in 5-7 years and u knew it , big budget MMO with a series like this are so rare ! i won't quit this game because i am crashing in Cyrodiil , lol

ESO is running out of memory.
    It is 32 Bit app.

The PC guys are getting a way with a lot more since DX11 works differently from OpenGL.

Set your Textures to Medium or your Graphics all to medium and you should crash a lot less.
As that uses like 1/3rd LESS memory.

DO NOT send me any more crash reports, These are useless.
They are NOT the actually crash report or stack trace.
This is JUST The personal information thats sent in so you can see if you want to send it in.

Im working on a LOD system to help the Mac be more stable.

Eventually we will have a 64bit Mac version that will fix most of the crashes.

Until then the mac will crash every few hours at best

Ah I see @Moonraker‌ the list was updated April 8th to include the memory leak. That explains why I did not know they publicly acknowledged it. As good as their acknowledging the matter is, I am still a bit bummed that it's pretty much an open issue with no current ETA on a fix. Not to say it's not a high priority on their list but they created and advertised a Mac game, and these crashes are as game breaking as any bug could be.
