Did the server melt?

I've been trying to log in for the past hour and half, and I'm getting everything from login timout errors, to cannot connect to server errors, to infinite loading screens.
What is happening in there?

The server is working fine for me 10 minutes ago.

    Short answer: Yes.

I'm planning on spending the next couple of days doing something other than ESO at this point. Hopefully it will all get fixed soon. I'm not bothering to ask for compensation, since I'm sure that they will be giving out extra game time to make up for all this. I'm just logging in occasionally for crafting research and to feed my horse.

NA or EU server? I just logged into the NA server less than 30 seconds ago and the process went smooth as silk.

Getting a bit scared to log in when we get these endless log in times. Am afraid I will end up with a corrupted character with no skill points... :(

The server did indeed melt, again... second time in less then 24 hours.

I am also going to take a break from ESO. I am going to be dusting off the xbox one and playing titanfall. In the hopes that when I do come back to ESO some of this server lag, infinite load times and server downtime have been repaired.

Not sure what else can be done other then sending in tickets when said server crashes like it has been. Then sitting on these forums waiting for an official response to the issues.

Then on top of that finally waiting for said above issues to be 'resolved' only to resurface hours or days later.

Though one can hope they will eventually find the root cause of the issue and nail it down to finally solve the problem once and for all.

Well it seems they didn't find the problem yesterday but simply made it playable for a few hours... im currently stuck in one of those infinite loading screens on NA server that i got after the game crashed in cyrodiil I guess once i'm in ill get outta cyrodiil for a while since thats the only place that i get those infernal loading times...

That was my plan, though I have been spending the last 90 minutes attempting to get out of Cryodiil. But these darn loading screens have halted all progress back to shadowfen.

Agreed, except for the being sure about Zeni giving out extra game time to compensate.

I've not been able to log in or stay in the game for two days now.

Wait, are you being sarcastic? I hope you are because if you aren't, then you're going to be disappointed. I will be shocked if ZOS offers any kind of compensation for this down time. They've proven time and again that they will not go out of their way do things like this.

Actually, no, they haven't. The game has been up for 2 weeks (including early access). That's hardly enough time for them to "prove time and again" about anything. And in that time they have been giving refunds to those that want it, and they have given out extra early access time to those affected by issues in early access. So, they have actually shown they *are* willing to do what is right.

My bank was emptied, like many people, and has been reset to 60 slots. 60 of the items are back in, and the other 10-20 items I lost are possibly in my character inventories (as I've heard has happened with others). I haven't received my extra slots of money back, but as their customer service response said they are working on it and they aren't lost. I will get them back once the problem is solved.

So, what I seriously expect once the issue is sorted, is to get my bank slots back, my banked money back, and extra game time. I really doubt that won't happen. Zenimax hasn't actually been evil at all in the last two weeks. They're having issues, but they are dealing with everything as I would expect (though they may need to pick up some more Customer Service personnel to keep up with the current demand)

Well, I tried to use my roomate's computer to get my character out of Cryodil if possible. It didn't work, infinite loading screen on login. It looks like I'm not going to be playing for tonight :I

They said that people who "lost" items from the bank havent actually lost anything. They have records of everything you ever sold, bought or deleted. You will get your stuff back just going to take some time.

I must respectfully disagree with you there. Check out my signature and the links there. Not to say that ZOS is "being evil", but they are being neglectful to hundreds of people. I'm glad that you've personally had such a pleasant experience and actually saw some resolution for your issues, but hundreds of others have not had such a walk in the park with ZOS's customer service. In fact, hundreds are still waiting to get in and play due to no fault of their own.

I'm not going to rant about this or get off topic, but I did want you to know that you do not speak for everyone when you say that ZOS is diligent or that they've helped people with early access issues. You're welcome to state opinions, but please don't speak for all of us when you pat them on the back :(

I'm confused and that is not hard to do... but how could you skip a patch? The launcher does that automatically when it's opened.

    1.0.0.968197

Make sure you give it time to download and install the patch. Sometimes it does not start right away. Restart the launcher after the patch downloads.

I suspect that if you do not have the patch installed, you cannot log in

Edit: I logged out to get the version number and logged back in with no trouble on NA server.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom‌ : Do you think it would be possible to give the client version number in the patch notes when a patch updates the client?

maybe he's running from the .exe file not the launcher?
doesn't seem like a good idea though

    Can you even do that?

I didn't think you access the load screen without going through the launcher.

I have the latest patch and haven't been able to login after the past hr and a half.
