My bad, I thought since you're old enough to buy computer games and have a credit card, you would be a college student.
And yes, every subscription MMO has you put in financial information when you add your game code. If they actually verify the funds at that time or not varies.
You seem to be the ignorant one who can't plan ahead 30 days for a financial responsibility. You obviously aren't in the financial situation to play this game right now. So, wait it out or return the game/apply for a refund.
Also, instead of starting the 30th thread on this very issue, perhaps you should of added your issue to the many others or contacted support directly. Ranting here just begs to have others comment, both positive and negative.
On a side note, you're welcome for the bumps keeping your thread at the top and visible to mods and other players in your predicament.
If you have PayPal setup with a valid CC or debit card on its files then you will NOT have the verification charge on your card. I did it this way and at the time I only had about £3 on that card has I only use it for the internet purchases and transfer to it from my main account.

Thanks to everyone who actually tried to help, instead of all the spoiled richkids who just came here to rant me about my lacking "financial education", even though I stated multiple times I saved up for something! Sadly, this seems to be a problem for many, so if you read this Zenimax, please get a better system for handling game time and/or subscription plans!
Good thing the support is competent in my case

On the guide, it says that people that pre-ordered automatically has their game time enabled, but I still can't play, it just says I need to set up subscription.. Now that's fine with me, but due to the crappy system, that you need to have $15 available to put on hold, so it can be authorized. I have never ever seen any subscription based game, that promises you 30 days of game time on purchase, but you still need to "pay" to play, before you have access to the game time. Honestly, what is the point of promising people game time, if they don't have access to it immediately after purchase? So, it's a MUST that you have a subscription, even though on purchase you had 30 days of game time, that you don't have access to? Wtf...
Since I am a "poor" student that lives at home, and have to pay most of my expenses myself, and I saved up to buy something certain, then I cannot play the game until next month, or what the ****?
Thanks Zenimax,

Yes, she did, and I have taught my three children how to read and plan financially for things they want.
File your ticket and wait like the rest of us trying to get account issues resolved. Complaining here does nothing for you. Bugs in game, sure, ZOS needs that info. Your financial situation can't be helped by ZOS.

I also have to point out that every subscription based mmorpg that doesn't have a free to play model wrapped into it, ALWAYS require you to setup a subscription plan before you're able to use your game time.
Yes it's true some companies are moving away from this, but it's a fact that 90 percent still do this. And like I said in my other post. Setup up your subscription ( yes it may show up like a holding fee ) and wait a few days then cancel it lol.
No, they don't... I've played both Warhammer Online, World of Warcraft, and Rift. All of them you had immediate access upon purchase, without being forced to make a subscription to gain access to the 30 days. Only game/company that did the same as Zenimax is supposedly SWTOR, and see what happened to that.
No, they didn't. Selective memory FTL. Every sub game makes you set up a subscription. Now they may not have all done an authorization test as not all of them actually do. However, it is their game, it's their rules. Setting up a subscription is done in every game. I have always set them up and cancelled in case I forgot later. Then if I wanted to renew I did prior to the end of billing.
Duh, please think. I never said they had no subscription plan, I just assumed you would think for yourself, and see that I meant "authorization fee". None of those games forced you to make a subscription plan before being able to play the 30 days of game time. Is that hard to understand?
See, this is where you are wrong. Check your bolded part before you talk about things you have no concept of. Go pick up ANY sub game right now, before you can play you MUST set up a subscription. Again, they may not all charge, but you MUST set up a plan
Now, if you want to continue to make a fool of yourself, by all means go right ahead.
Already did earlier. Picked World of Warcraft up again a few months back, no sub plan, just bought the game, activated the game, boom, 30 days of play, no sub, same with all the other P2P games I've played.
Now leave, please.

LOL - You are full of *** and you're post just proves it. The only way you can play wow without setting up a subscription is a free trial. Nice try though.
Keep digging that hole is getting rather deep.
felixgamingx1 wrote: »Maybe you should stay in the free MMO area?
Since when is it relevant what other companies do?
There was a statement about "free" 30 days.
As we all paid for these days with buying the game, they are not free but I understand that for some people that´s too much.
The statement about the validation was about the subscription.
These 30 days ARE NOT A SUBSCRIPTION!
So I assume you didn't read this, which is included on the back of the box AND listed at all retailers websites:
Acceptance of End User License Agreement, Terms of Service, and Privacy Policy, and account registration using enclosed one-time use activation code, required to play. Must be 13+ to register. The 30 days of unlimited game play begins when you select your preferred subscription plan on store.elderscrollsonline.com. Subscription fees only charged for game access after the first 30 days, subject to cancellation by you at any time. No refunds or credits for partial months.
Anything else I can help you with?
krilleyy95 wrote: »And no, I didn't read that actually, since I bought the game directly through this website digitally, which didn't state any of that.
BTW this is directly from the ESO store for digital purchases:

It's good that they have added that now I guess, so no one else will fall for it. When it was pre-purchase, there was nothing about must having/be able to make a subscription with a temporary hold fee, that first came extremely late when the game was about to be released.. Why do you think so many fell for it, rant about it?

Again, incorrect. I clearly remember reading it and I ordered from them. Just drop it. You got the help you needed, no need to keep acting foolish.
So for a laugh, I asked my teenager:
"Hey, honey, if you wanted a game that cost $60 and it had a $15 monthly subscription, how much would you save up to buy the game?"
Her response: "$75. Why?"
LOL Even my teenage daughter knows to be prepared for a subscription game.

Maybe I was incorrect about the sub plans, but I never had that when I bought World of Warcraft though, but that is a long time ago.. Though I still think it's a bad system, if people get in the same case as me :P

I know it doesn't matter now but I meant use PayPal for the sub and not for buying the game.
