You only set up the payment plan, you don't pay. You are entirely free to play the 29.9 days you have for free and then cancel your subscription and wait till you can again afford the monthly fee. You can probably even just set up the subscription plan once, get the 30 free days and then cancel the plan straight away and enjoy the 30 days from then onward.

You know, if you can't afford $15, you shouldn't be spending money on video games. /rant off
Seriously, though I feel the full 14.99 being held as a verification is complete BS, some sort of verification is always done in these situations. Usually companies do a penny or two, maybe a dollar... so yeah, what the heck is up with this company? Just put the $15 in your account if you want to play.
I honestly can't understand how people literally don't have $15. I could probably check my change jar and have $15 in there, I know each of my kids have close to that in their change jars!
I had the same problem and told them in a normal way.
They told me to buy a subsription... they dont read most of these tickets and just send back a bunch of crap. You could be one of the lucky and get a "real" answere.
If it wont work ask a friend if he can buy that subsription with PayPal and cancel it right away.
In fact he will be lending you money as it will be gone from his account for some time.
If he is nice you wont have to hand it over to him and get it back afterwards.

Yes, but as I've been saving up for something, then I have no money now on my CC, as I stated in my first post.
I cannot "pay" for the hold to get my subscription, and as I cannot get access to the 30 days of game time that they PROMISE on purchase, then I cannot do anything with it now, until next month.
krilleyy95 wrote: »Seriously though, you should read posts before you comment. /rant off
Did you only read the part where I said "if you don't have $15"?
I think it's complete BS that they hold the full amount. You being a poor college student is no excuse from any other person claiming to not have $15. And yes, with this stupid system in place for this game, you wont be able to play unless you get $15 into your account (CC, bank, whatever, doesn't matter). Most CC companies will take a payment over the phone and funds will be available within 24 hours.
Hell, if you're that desperate to play, borrow $15 from a friend for a month and put that in your account.
I honestly can't understand how people literally don't have $15.

The " Charge " on your credit cared isn't real it's an authorization " Charger " to make sure you actually have the funds available, ( if you can't afford to play this game you should not have bought it, this is your own fault. ) So you setup your subscription, and you would be charged 1 month after your free time expires, and not before then. So to negate this, you simply setup your sub play your game and cancel the subscription so that you don't pay once your free time is up. How much clearer can this be?
I can't believe how many people are having issues with this, sadly most of you aren't mmo players so you don't know any better which is why you're all having these issues, and once again " Sadly" for you it's your own fault.

On the guide, it says that people that pre-ordered automatically has their game time enabled, but I still can't play, it just says I need to set up subscription.. Now that's fine with me, but due to the crappy system, that you need to have $15 available to put on hold, so it can be authorized. I have never ever seen any subscription based game, that promises you 30 days of game time on purchase, but you still need to "pay" to play, before you have access to the game time. Honestly, what is the point of promising people game time, if they don't have access to it immediately after purchase? So, it's a MUST that you have a subscription, even though on purchase you had 30 days of game time, that you don't have access to? Wtf...
Since I am a "poor" student that lives at home, and have to pay most of my expenses myself, and I saved up to buy something certain, then I cannot play the game until next month, or what the ****?
Thanks Zenimax,

I also have to point out that every subscription based mmorpg that doesn't have a free to play model wrapped into it, ALWAYS require you to setup a subscription plan before you're able to use your game time.
Yes it's true some companies are moving away from this, but it's a fact that 90 percent still do this. And like I said in my other post. Setup up your subscription ( yes it may show up like a holding fee ) and wait a few days then cancel it lol.

No, they don't... I've played both Warhammer Online, World of Warcraft, and Rift. All of them you had immediate access upon purchase, without being forced to make a subscription to gain access to the 30 days. Only game/company that did the same as Zenimax is supposedly SWTOR, and see what happened to that.
Apparently the college student isn't smart enough to plan ahead. The economics class they are sure to take at some point should help, I hope.
You knew there was a subscription with this game. Failing to save that additional $15 was your own short-sighted fault.

No, they didn't. Selective memory FTL. Every sub game makes you set up a subscription. Now they may not have all done an authorization test as not all of them actually do. However, it is their game, it's their rules. Setting up a subscription is done in every game. I have always set them up and cancelled in case I forgot later. Then if I wanted to renew I did prior to the end of billing.

Duh, please think. I never said they had no subscription plan, I just assumed you would think for yourself, and see that I meant "authorization fee". None of those games forced you to make a subscription plan before being able to play the 30 days of game time. Is that hard to understand?

See, this is where you are wrong. Check your bolded part before you talk about things you have no concept of. Go pick up ANY sub game right now, before you can play you MUST set up a subscription. Again, they may not all charge, but you MUST set up a plan
Now, if you want to continue to make a fool of yourself, by all means go right ahead.
