ChatBox in middle of Screen

For no apparent reason my chatbox moved to the middle right of the screen. It blocks my inventory and well looks ugly and is not practical. I cant move it back. Treid relogging/restarting/restarting my PC and nothing changes. Sent bug reports and in game help.. no help from anywhere, SO, any advice?

Also I dont use any addons

so if you hit enter to bring the cursor up, you can't move it like any other window?

I have a similar issue, right after a loading screen the chatbox moved to the right a bit, not as drastic as your issue but it's kinda irritating.
Most MMOs these days allow you to move things like this around for customization reasons & so that issues like these don't happen.
I have tried using /reloadui also but that has not worked.
Neither has changing the resolution, quitting & logging back in or putting it in fullscreen.

What it looks like on my other character. A minor change but still annoying.

This can not be true. There are no bugs in this game.

What you have there is a feature, so you don't miss any texts you might get.

I might be wrong, but I thought you could drag it around? Can you not?

If not I'd look for a default settings option and see if that helps. Beyond that, backing up and deleting whatever file holds the options would be what I tried next, but I don't know what file that would be offhand.

I can move my chat window around by clicking and holding on the word Chat in the upper left corner. Does this not work for you?

Everyone point & laugh at the stupid scaly one.
How long have I been playing MMOs & I couldn't figure that out.
Thanks for the help, I'm just going to crawl into the dark corner of shame.

you should be able to resize it. expand it left to the edge then down to the edge. then shorten the top and right sides

Can you right click the chat box and get more options? Look around for a lock/unlock window option. I know the game UI lacks many basic functions but I'd hope this one would not have been overlooked.

Yeah I figured this one out (after an embarrasingly long time) that I just needed to click on the 'chat' tab to drag the box... felt like a total head box afterwards I can tell ya!
