The Prismatic Core - "Find Aelif" part BUGGED

Hi.

Already submitted a ticket. This is probably the 7th or so bugged quest, but first GUILD quest bugged I've come across that is now blocking progression; yet again.

Cannot speak to or interact with Aelif one bit that's near the entrance like we're suppose to.

Startin' to get upset.

its bugged for me as well. I can't find Aelif although she is standing right there.

Wasn't bugged for me this time around. I followed the other NPC right after I guarded the forge thingy and they had their conversation and was able to speak to Aelif.

Probably had something to do with staying behind for a few minutes and not following the guy to her.

Just try doing what I did. As soon as the other NPC runs to the entrance, follow him. I stayed behind and when I arrived, nothing happened; but when I followed him the dialogue between them and another ghost NPC began.

Drop the quest (Abandon it) and then relog.

Had the same issue, that's what worked for me. Make sure you walk OUT of the portal first (So you are not in the same place as Aelif) and do not tell Merric "Goodbye" in the dialog preceding it. Tell him it's time to get out of there & then he'll chug along.

Edit to clarify: When I say "relog" I mean "Close the game entirely", not just go to the character select screen.

If,at the end of the battle, Merric has no health left, the quest bugs. I had to restart it and keep him alive.

DO NOT abandon the quest unless you want to have to do the entire thing over again. That's not made clear in Hyperventilate's comment above.

It may be inevitable until they fix the quest, but I just wanted to make sure people know what it entails.

Yep, still a problem after the patch on 8/4. Also all the guild & social abilities are disabled temporarily... since last night.

Dang, same for me. Merric is just staring at the lava, he won't move and Aelif won't speak to me.

I had to do it again. This time I waited for Merric to run off to find her first rather than a quick kthxbye and going first myself.

I just had this, and have been told to log off for 15 mins, relog, and try to speak to Merrick again. Will let you know what happens...

Hey everyone! This quest was fixed with today's patch (it's currently live on the NA megaserver and will be live on the EU megaserver after tonight's maintenance). Can anyone who was having issues with it try again and let us know if you continue to experience issues with it?

@ZOS_AmeliaR, I just finished this on the EU server (MEST 21:05). I see that it's meant to be fixed tonight. What I want to know is should I stay right next to Aelif and log, coming back after the patch or do I need to do the dang thing all over again?

Edit: Nevermind, sorry. I already know the answer to this. A log of any length of time will chuck me out of the "instance" which means I will have to do this again. Gnah!

Oh well, at least it's fixed. Guess I should have waited instead of "just one more quest before bed".

Well, after logging out for 15 mins and logging back in, the plus point is that I was able speak to Merrick, the minus point is that I had to do the boss fight all over again Anyhow, all done now, and very happy with the prompt response and help from Zeni.

This is not fixed. He is still sitting there with %42 health after the boss fight and not moving. I cant believe this is still going on from April.

Same for me Merric just standing there at 42% health and when I put my cursor
on him it brings up my skill bar indicating he is an enemy!

I have been having issues with this quest. I have dropped quest 3 different times and it still will not finish. Meric just stands there like a tard....

I had this same problem, this morning. It may be noteworthy that Merric stopped fighting during the battle with the queen, after all the skeletons attacked in the earth forge. When I talked to him after, he was at 30% health and not regenerating. As described above, the quest description said to Tavel with Merric to Aelif, but Merric never moved after that, and wouldn't talk either. I dropped the quest, picked in up again in Marbruk, and redid it, and everything was fine.
