Finally got my GF so far to play ESO with me. But no.

Did you try to unplug the computer and wait for 1 min or two to check if it works better. Problem with MS-OSes and systems is that sometimes a crapload of stuff stay buffed somewhere and screws everything up.

Also close every possible running program before kicking of the download again, and do a full install from the account link (right corner) and nothing from CD/DVD.

Hope your stuff will be fixed asap bro.

Okay, so you're on the forums of a game you refuse to play, why?

i came to see if the status of the game at least changed a little, so maybe i could buy this, i really like TES, i want to play it, but no. it did not change a bit.. still the same problems with that *** launcher/installation. so thats why i posted. sorry if u didnt like it

If you go onto the forums of TERA, WoW, Wildstar Online, SWTOR, EVE Online etc. You will probably find similar problems people have with those games. Name 1 MMO without bugs or problems on launch, or still is bugfree for that matter..

Since he said that both he and his GF got same matchup in hardware and it works fine on his computer. I would guess usererror is the most likely case before anything else.

I've never said the slow download speed was their fault. I've only said that their patcher is faulty.

What user error would you suggest? Trying to install the game? Because that's litterly all that has been tried so far.
Everything is up to date, and all the hardware works fine. Its a problem in the launcher, the PC runs all games to this date on Ultra and has never encounterd any problems, Nor did it ever encounter errors with any other launchers from other Mmorpg's.

I have a tendency to see so many failures to be user error but I will give you the benefit of the doubt on this one. I can understand her irritation but I wouldn't let all that hinder me mainly because I'm such a fan girl.
I got my boyfriend into this game with no problems, minus the 7 hour download time. The only foreseeable issues now is me yelling at him because he doesn't pay attention to stuff.

Humm a little bit late, maybe but do you know that, if you have the game installed and working on a computer, you can simply copy the game folder on the 2nd computer to have it works ?

Detailed steps :
- download and installed the launcher
- run launcher so it install per-requisites
- continue the process until launcher begin to actually download the game. I.E until it creates the "The Elder Scrolls Onlin" (or "The Elder Scrolls Online EU") folder in the installation folder you choose.
- at this point pause the launcher then close it
- copy the content of this folder from the working computer
- done

Apart from this,prior to each patch, I always made a backup of the game folder, in case the patch corrupt it.

So she can see just how really amazing this game is. It does have a few early days hiccups for sure but once you get going it is so immersive, so enjoyable, so much fun and so beautiful. It is worth the early pain. Really it is.

I have been stuck on a few quests, I have almost lost my character when they were endlessly falling through the world screaming and I expect more hiccups along the way. I have three alts and I am enjoying levelling them all. I am enjoying the crafting greatly too and am in a great guild (The Imperial Trading Company on the EU server).

Once the journey begins you will never want it to end.

If the game is working on your PC/Mac, why not just copy the entire game directories and files from your system to the GF's ?
