Finally got my GF so far to play ESO with me. But no.

Thanks. I've been waiting for this game for years, and i had finally gotten my girlfriend so far that she finally would play ESO with me.

Then the following things happend to her:
1. She had 1 month free. Which was not free. She does not have an CC and therefore had to buy a full other month.
2. The client, After finally downloading the 24 gigabytes, Decided it was not installed correctly and couldn't be repaired. 6 hours went to waste.
3. She could log in and made a character on my pc.
4. Came home and installed again where suddenly her character was gone, and she decided to log off for the night.
5. Next day, Wanted to log in and play. Launcer corrupt. Had to Re-install the whole thing, another 6 hours wasted. After the reinstall the client yet again still didn't work.
6. After a dreadfull yet again 6-7 hours too install the game it finally worked.
7. Logged in, Suddenly the launcer had installed US instead of EU.
8. Re-installl because for some reason you need to download 24 gigabytes too switch clients.
9. She said to me she broke the CD and would never try to play this sh*t game again and is mad at me for trying to get her in such an awfull experience..

Wonderfull Zenimax. Just wonderfull.

Etc etc, aka you know the deal.

I did understand the subscription, The thing is, there are only options for americans. The dutch have to either have a CC to set it up, OR have to buy a full month through ideal of a game card.

Have you tried updating the drivers for the GFX card?

1 is not entirely true. It is true if you use cc/paypal but for other payment methods you have to buy 30 more days to be able to use ur free 30 days.

This one feels saddened by the story of yours. Ri'Dariit's pet had no problems installing and playing with client, but then both of us had time to fix problems in beta with client. She is first timer to Tamriel too just like your friend. But one day long ago this one wiped all her data on accident. She was very mad even when this one scraped all data back together, but still lost much. Why does Khajiit tells you this story? Game frustration bad, yes? But make sure frustration doesn't go to Treluk or friend of his. This is first test in series of many tests. Ri'Dariit hopes that endurance and compromise might help this one to re-convince her to try again. Or even better, Treluk should let friend of his play on his machine until Treluk fixes problem on hers. Shows, sacrifice and dedication. Will pay off more than once to you now and later in other adventures with friend.

Ri'Dariit had share of frust with his mate in past. Large raiding group in Azeroth and mate shows up as healer in "pretty, but useless" dress. Lots of convincing and headache this one had, but this part of life. Fusozay Var Var

As a fellow Dutchie, i can tell you that this is wrong information.
Dutch people don't need a credit card or iDeal in order to set up a subscription. You can use PayPal which is way faster, way easier and doesn't require a CC.
Simply make an account, link your bank account to your PayPal and use it to set up a subscription.

As for the installation loop I've had the same issue during the beta, so after the launcher installed the game I've stopped it, copied the game to another location and started the game directly from the eso.exe. It took me a day and a half, it was 5 or 6 times I've had to download 22 gigs so i know how frustrating this is!
I've then suggested ESO guys to just eliminate their whole team developing the launcher and hire some guys with at least a clue how things should be done It seems no one listened!

As a fellow Dutchie, i can tell you that this is wrong information.
Dutch people don't need a credit card or iDeal in order to set up a subscription. You can use PayPal which is way faster, way easier and doesn't require a CC.
Simply make an account, link your bank account to your PayPal and use it to set up a subscription.

Still though, that wasn't the biggest issue, just one of many (Btw, Zenimax only accepts Paypal with cash on it or a CC connected, refuses bank links)

Anyhow, With her 5mb/s connection at home it's very frustrating to be having to download the game 7 times and it still not being able to work.

It's not an GFX issue, we both have the exact same set up and drivers as of last week.

That's quite odd then. My PayPal doesn't have a credit card linked to it nor does it have money on it and it still went through.

Same here, I'm Dutch and when entering my paypal account it states that I need to link it to a CC.

Anyhow,
The launcher issues are quite worrying since i had the same launcher issue on the first patch release. And also had to re-download everything.

In theory, this should work.

In practice, only PayPal accounts that have a credit card or debit card linked to it can complete the subscription process. Having a bank account linked to it isn't good enough, apparently - it'll just ask for your credit card information after you log in to PayPal.

@Treluk - her character probably went missing when the launcher switched from the EU to the NA megaserver (or vice versa), since characters aren't shared between the two servers. You could probably find her character again after switching servers.

Yeah, i think the character should be on the EU realms since the char was made on my client. Just need to wait for the 8th re-install to complete and check..

Hopefully everything will work out after the 8th re-install. I know my wife would have totally said screw it if that would have happened. Luckily installations for us has been good and we have played together since beta.

She almost totally flipped yesterday because she was not able to activate the subscription because of missing game registration code, that I didn't notice was on the instruction leaflet of physical copy until bit later.

Well she quickly calmed down once I actually read the leaflet and found the code but yes it was my fault as I bought the game for her so I was responsible of making it work. She was just afraid that she cannot get into the game while all our friends including me are playing.

Would have bought the digital edition but there was no possibility to buy as gift in elderscrollsonline store so it would have not been surprise if I would have asked her to create account and then go to the store etc etc.

If there are this many install errors, I am likely to believe there is a HD write error or something.

ETA: slow download speeds aren't zenimax's fault.

This game is a *** fail, it still has the same issues it had when the closed beta events took place. this is why i didnt pre-order, this is why i will not buy it. but they still defend the monthly sub because that money will make this game a godlike. and look at this ***.
