Is there any way to get a refund for my purchase? As everyone's aware by now you have to set up your subscription before you can even play the 30 days that you already bought, which personally I think is outrageous.
Dont really have a problem having to set up a sub for the game personally, what annoys me is the fact that they perform a check to see if you got funds in your account, regardless of having cash or having no cash at all in their accounts, people should have automatic access to their 30 free days... without any checkups or any bs of the sort, if the CC applied has no funds, they can freeze the account after the initial 30 free days the player is entitled to has run out, but before that, they shouldnt be able to do ***.

Its not their *** business what we have or dont have in our accounts, it only becomes their business after our 30 free days are gone and we decide to keep playing or not, and with the horrid decisions they are taking, i can see them loosing a lot of potential players.

Its obviously a marketing scheme. This is a corporation ran by business men and not gamers. there here for the money not the art... This is all about number crunching and greedy foresight. Like i said before, makes me sick!
    Welcome to capitalism, buddy.

    yup, again makes me sick...

If you purchased with a credit card digitally call your credit card company and have them charge it back to ZOS and explain that they are charging you in advance for a subscription when their own FAQ had stated they wouldn't be charging you until after the 30-day free access was done. Also tell them you created a ticket to resolve the issue and you have asked for a refund and they have not contacted you back.

Now that I think about it I bought it with Paypay and they're usually pretty good about refunding stuff... I'll give Zenimax/Bethesda until tomorrow to respond to my refund ticket then I'll contact Paypal.

Seriously, going this route could present you with real legal difficulties down the road. Please check if your state AG has a FAQ page about consumer protection laws.

I'm not going to just relentlessly pursue my money back at all costs. I'll tell Paypal exactly what transpired and it'll be up to them whether I get my refund back at all. I've got enough sense to avoid getting myself in trouble, but I do appreciate your caution.

Excepting the fact that I'm not giving them access to that information regardless after what's going on, so it's still not their business.

This! Being confident I had 30 days until subscription time started I didn't bother recharging my credit card, I have like 5$ left on there. It's Sunday, banks are closed, I can't play nor can I choose a subscription plan because apparently it requires the full amount 30 days in advance to be able to do so. Eeehrr... I mean, I can do that tomorrow, it's not the end of the world, but I wasn't really expecting this kind of procedure.

    "Greetings!
I'm sorry that you feel this way about the game. I know that there are some issues presently with it, but they are hard at work fixing the issues that come up. I would (sic hahah) give up yet!

For the refund policy for online games, usually after a certain amount of time, you are not able to refund it (virtual items/games/etc). I've had this happen a few times to me and I ended up having to keep a game that I did not want.

I will migrate this ticket to the folks going through refund requests. I can't guarantee they will be able to refund, but if they can, we'll process your refund for you.

    Regards,
    (servicerepsnameistheirbiz)
    The Elder Scrolls Online Team"

Good news! After 2 and a half days my ticket is going to the right department. It started in accounts/billing: other.

Not too worried in my case since my ticket clearly started less than 12 hours after official launch.

"Response By Email (thisguydonegood) (04/07/2014 04:04 AM)
    Greetings (Me!),

Please, allow me to preface this email with a sincere apology from The Elder Scrolls Online Team. It is always in our interest and genuine intention to assist all of our customers to the best of our ability and to make sure that the players are happy with the game and with it's customer support level.

We have reviewed all of your cases and case tickets in our system. Also, we have seen the posts you have made on the forums. As a point of interest, we do in fact scour through the forums looking for concerns. Yours, especially, was brought to our attention and has since been given to me, personally, to review, and act within your favor.

As I understand it, you are unable to download and play the game, due to there not being enough room on your C:// drive, at this time. Our apologies again, for anything you feel may have been misrepresented in the minimum system requirements. We realize that all you are asking for is a refund for your game and were told previously that we could not do such. We are reviewing why that information was provided to you, but have gone into your account and provided the requested refund. This refund may take 3-5 business days to show on your financial institution's records and show in your account.

If you have any further questions or concerns at all, please feel free to reply to this email. I will be more than happy to assist with any other concerns that may or may not have arisen. Also, I am going to close your open tickets within our system. Please do not be alarmed by this is any way, shape, or form. I am simply marking them as such, so that I can be your current main point of contact through replying to this email for the next 5 days, at which time this case will move itself to solved. You are always more than welcome to place another ticket after the 5 days, though, and we will still be more than happy to assist you with anything you need.

Thank you for your consideration and may your feet always fall in warm sands."

All very standard, thanks so much for getting this taken care of. So, if anyone is in my boat and just wants to get out, THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU, it... just takes a significant amount of time. Thanks guys!
