Ultimate points resetting to zero

Good lord this is getting old.... I'm getting mad now, this is so stupid. This last time (out of many since my last post) I KNOW I was doing nothing when it reset. I'm in a battle area standing in a safe spot and go afk for two minutes. Out of habit now I made a point of verifying my Ultimate points, which over 500. I come back and it's at 0. This is horrible! PLEASE fix this!!!

I haven't had an opportunity to test this since launch. I'm taking turns with all my alts and none of them have an ultimate yet.

I also have this problem. My ultimate points reset to zero without using an ultimate ability.

I beleive I sometimes lose the charge while entering/leaving area that are separated from the main maps, i.e. Public Dungeons. Just adds to the general irritation, as if unsummoning pets and remmoving buffs each time wasn't enough.

Would be niuce if that goet either fixed or very clearly defined as to what exactly makes one lose the charge.

Changing zones isn't what resets it. That's easy to test. There doesn't seem to be any real pattern to it. I can go to another zone and then sit in town doing nothing for 20 minutes and I still have my points. Log out then back in the next morning and they're still there. But other times I've been hunting out in the field and simply go afk for two minutes and they've reset to 0.

The only sure-fire way I know to keep my points from resetting is to hunt non-stop until I use them. And this completely sucks because now I either quest, or level up my werewolf. It's impossible to do both at the same time with this bug.

I was starting to wonder whether my Ultimate reset because I logged out, died or entered a new zone. I never knew this was a bug. o.O

Werewolves in my opinion need a massive overhaul, along with an entire update dedicated to bug fixes
I love being a Werewolf, its just really frustrating sometimes.

That isn't the only time mine has reset though. I've had it reset while in combat when I haven't used it. I remapped it to F4 just to be able to avoid accidentally setting it off so I know that isn't what's happening.

Heh, with me it's usually hitting R rather than E by accident. Given how many 100's of times I have to hit E in a session it's really not surprising. I should really change the binding.

I've had it happen to me a few times as well. I've noticed them disappear when I've come back from a 2 minute AFK or after using a wayshrine.

Mine have disappeared but I thought it was my lack of sleep and me accidentally pressing the button to use it.

Also if a skill requires 250 ultimate to use and I have 1000 ultimate it will drain all 1000 of it not just 250, is that intentional or another bug?

I've had this happen to me several times. The worst is during PvP.

Yeah, I've died a couple times due to lacking an ultimate even though it was fully charged a few minutes prior... Very exciting stuff. >.>

same problem il be questing with my ultimate close to 900 points then bam 0. i had this problem before i was a werewolf but to a much lesser extent also i was told about a week ago by support that they would be looking into this issue, i was hoping the maintenance might fix it but no dice just had another reset.

This is just annoying. Reseting Ultimates to zero is happening all the time. After porting to another zone, after a short break (few minutes) now and then the Counter is reset to zero. Even after yesterdays patch is still happening.

I am getting frustrated after playing ESO now since release with all those issues left. Every 3rd quest is bugged or needs to be workarounded by a relog...but that is another topic...

Yeah, I wished we would see a ZOS comment acknowledging this. It has been extremely frustrating building up ultimate charges for werewolf just to lose them because I'm running to someplace nearby so that I can TRY to devour mobs after killing them to keep werewolf up for a little bit longer. Various things seem to trigger the reset. It's even worse on one of my nightblade skills that I can build ultimate up to 2000% and just have it go poof after all that work. Ultimate charges need to be retooled badly.

This just started happening to me today(4/22) after the patch. Haven't had my Ultimate points randomly reset until now but I see others have had this happening for a while.

They just randomly seem to be resetting back to 0.
I am trying to figure out what i'm doing that may be causing it or if it truly is just random.

I wonder if any of the developers are even aware of this. @ZOS_GinaBruno @ZOS_TristanK

EDIT: I may have figured out something that can be useful. Each time mine has reset it "appears" to be when I am ALT+TABbed out checking something. Maybe a place to start looking. I will keep an eye on this.
EDIT#2: Well it just reset when I opened my Skills page(K) to spend some points. So it's not just when I alt+tab. Guess it's just random.

Larger zones, like cyrodiil, seem to be split into "chunks".

A group of 10 of us were running around Cyrodiil at different Ultimate point values, but all 10 of us had our ultimate reset when we crossed this "line"/"chunk"

Some of us were ahead of the others, and noticed it happen first... once everyone else caught up with us and "cross the line" they had their ultimate reset too.

It is like the world is split by invisible lines/zones/instances that force the reset as if you had entered a dungeon or new map.

This is pure speculation, and I've had the issue since January beta, but I've noticed it disappears when attacking lower level mobs and when attacking lower level players in Cyrodiil. Attacking similar ranked players in PvP gained me ultimate points last time I was there, so it could well be an unexplained mechanic by ZOS.

Let's face it, they're not exactly the best when it comes to explaining or elaborating on how the various game mechanics work.

It really sucks even more having a werewolf as an ultimate since it takes a long time to charge up.

Yea that is intended. You do not gain Ultimate killing anything that would be considered "gray con" in other games.

But I am level 46 in Coldharbour. We aren't talking about not gaining Ultimate, we are talking about the Ultimate we have gained suddenly disappearing.

Makes it really difficult to level Werewolf when it relies 100% on us using that Ultimate to gain WW levels.

I've also noticed it disappearing when attacking lower level mobs. I can have about 50% stored, then I go attack lower level mobs (currently at VR1 so everything is lower) and I notice the ultimate points have reset to 0. It might well be an active, if possibly bugged, mechanic when attacking lower level mobs.

Wow, this is really annoying. Had a full Ultimate ready to go, spoke to a quest NPC and then the points were all wiped back to zero.

Guess I shouldn't open and menus or talk to any NPC's or enter any doors unless my Ultimate points are already zero!
