alright, I’ve thought of various suggestions that would make the game more special and neat for players.. and throughout that time, I have submitted tickets/feedback suggestions in-game. I finally am throwing a list together that I will update and add future suggestions to as a consolidated list.
List:
-a feature to allow players to buy ESO+ tokens and trade/gift them to other players. This is great for introducing a new friend to ESO+ or helping out an old friend in need of a little extra help this month. Additionally, this can be a solid source of revenue to the game in which players can buy these tokens and trade them for gold in-game. Players who otherwise would never buy ESO+ can get it through in-game work, while ZoS still maintains the same income per subscriber (just via a different player). RuneScape for example allows you a similar method, but once you buy this token, you receive a tradable item in-game that can be posted on community traders. Highly recommend!
-a wayshrine furnishing. A furnishing to allow for players to exit a home to any wayshrine they choose. This would be a great furnishing to offer as a quarterly event reward OR sell directly for a large sum of crowns to guilds.
-always on mount animations. The ability to maintain mount “rear up” animations. Some of the older radiant apex mounts feature a nice animation that does not stay up for very long. This can COMPLETELY change a mount from something awesome to something bleh depending on the specific mount. I know server load is a hot topic, so maybe we could prohibit this setting in cyrodiil. As of now.. rearing up is still something people do often enough in most places, so I don’t believe it’s a huge ask since not a lot will change.
-account wide armory slots that are more expensive. Maybe you could sell an account-wide armory slot that’s more expensive than the single character one we have now. I don’t buy these ever, so I may not be in the market consumer you’re selling to, but I would absolutely buy all of them if you had an option for account-wide.. even if it was a bit more expensive. Call me crazy, but 5,000 crowns per account-wide armory slot would even be a consideration.. while it may be a bit harder to swallow for many players.
-maybe a crown token that can be purchased with one account (say 1000 crowns per token) and then traded to another player who can then “use” the token and get the 1000 crowns on their account to prevent scamming during gifts. There could even be a tax on top. Say I had 2,000 crowns. I’d be able to buy one of these tokens with crowns or even one of a few different options (1,000/10,000) and receive a physical item that can be traded in-person or via guild traders. This will sink gold into more revenue for ZoS while significantly opening doors for players to feel safe trading gold for gifted items. Even if ZoS wanted to put 10% tax each time the token was purchased to prevent fraud/manipulation/etc: you could charge 1,100 crown for a 1,000 crown token.
-chat system set up to carrying over and into character selection screen. It would be so nice to not lose messages when switching characters. Even if it pulled us out from getting new messages, maintaining a history of whispers could be instrumental in re-connecting with someone after “swapping”. Many times I’ve lost that connection when someone needed help and I needed to switch roles. Also, if I need to switch characters while in a conversation in guild.. I would love to not play the wait and swap until a moment you don’t think people will type something right away (as to not miss something and seemingly ignore someone).
-a customizable polymorph, such as a ghost that matches the costume and character customization but all blue like other drowned ghosts. This polymorph itself doesn’t need to be customizable.. but to carry over things like costumes or body marks or skins albeit while polymorphed. So a good example would be like a drowned ghost.. maintaining your male/female choice, your costume, your hair style, other character customizable features, and so on. This obviously wouldn’t be for previous polymorphs, but could open up a new polymorph genre for future releases.
-maybe an eleven or twelve piece set that lets you toggle werewolf ult on and off without needing to farm ult and without a timer. This could be a REALLY nice set for those who like to roleplay more than push the hardest content. I’m not part of these communities, but there are a lot of them and it would be very functional for players to change into a werewolf without having to constantly stop the immersion to feed. This would even help non-roleplaying players: in dungeons it’s common to have someone who NEVER wants to stop being a werewolf. They are so far behind in the dungeon because of constant feeding and it creates tension because they want you to slow down (because they don’t want to walk around as a humanoid) and you want to run a dungeon that is not essentially three player.
-stacking surveys for redemption. Say you have 12x a summerset blacksmithing survey… each map would return 12x the allotted amount saving you from having to run back and forth to reset it 12 times. You still get all the resources from traveling to the specific point on the map, but saves you from resetting the resources 12 times. That’s such a chore….
-cross progression.. meaning champion points save across all platforms, crown store purchases (if possible or collectibles if not.. so houses, mounts, etc carried over across all platforms). Maybe achievements too if that’s not too big of a task. This is a suggestion that is VERY dependent on how the game is coded. I already know that there is an account server of sorts, and so why is really like to see is things like champion points, crown store mounts, maybe even achievements/skins, houses would be soooo nice (not necessarily even furnished, but just purchased so I don’t have to buy them multiple times… not that I do, but this is a big reason for not being willing to play on a different platform).
-a cp 3600 mount. Just some special way to recognize all that work. As of now cp3600 is just ehh. A mount would be such a nice little way to recognize some of your most dedicated player-base.
-a “catch all champion passive” in each tree that goes up indefinitely and offers a very minuscule buff (think .01% extra gold find for green, .01% damage/defense/lifesteal(reaving blows kind)/or recovery type passive for blue, and .01% recovery buff or movement speed or similar for red). This would be instrumental in cp3600 players as well, because all my characters just have about 75 green, 680 blue, and 508 red UNSPENT champion points, which feels very lackluster.
-a champion point to reduce research times.
-Caldwell as a companion. Enough said.
-a vanishing dye (similar to Diablo 3) that could remove entire parts of armor. Soooooo many costumes are ruined by one little part. So, I have a real problem in ESO. I LOVE the detail put into the player skins. I collect them, I wear them, but I can never really display them well enough. There is ALWAYS something small off about the costume or outfit I make. Having a vanishing dye would go soooo far in key little places. Adding the “hide shoulders” collectible was a HUGE change that I used to vanishing dye in Diablo 3 for the most, but there are times I don’t like the extra parts of a costume/outfit.. think wristbands and clothing that covers the shins that isn’t attached to the main piece of clothing. And on that front… PLEASE design some legs/pants/bottoms that show off all the hard work and creativity of skins. The styles completely negate customizable outfits that have any sort of decent looking bottoms. 95% of the time I have to use a costume rather than an outfit SIMPLY because there are no leg options. Also… can you add a toggle to “Carnaval Celebrant” to remove that huge flower. Maybe categories that as a shoulder?? That costume would be perfect for displaying certain skins but completely is ruined by the “showgirl” aspect of the petal.
-the ability to use costume part combined with outfit styles to better build a unique look. As it sits now, skins have so much detail but finding the perfect outfit to display those detailed artworks is very hard. And as stated above, there are NO leg options outside of costumes. AND this would be sooo nice to customize costume styles by combining two or three different costumes into a really unique option. No more will you see the same costume everywhere.
-sets to support crafting/gathering/non-combat. Think COMPLETELY non-combat sets. Every bonus is strictly geared towards a specific style of play that is not combat: movement speed, gold find, gathering booster of some sort. Essentially there is a huge market that is so far left un-tapped and this could add a lot of very awesome options that will really get a large group excited. You could have a crafted set with smaller bonuses, a dungeon set with stronger buffs, and a trials set and even perfected options to really open a whole new world of gear. I’d love to see something like: 2pc: 1% speed boost, 3pc 1% gold find, 4pc, extra lock picking time, 5pc when you loot a container you have a 5% chance to cause an explosion of gold around you. These 5pc bonuses could be so exciting!
Think things like:
“when x, you cause a goblin hoarder to spawn”
“when you gather a resource, you cause x to happen”
“when you when you catch a fish, you have a 1% chance to filet all fish in your inventory automatically”
“when you craft an item you have a 1% chance to save 50% of the base material cost needed (12 leather goes down to 6 leather)”
“when you craft a glyph you have a 5% chance to create an extra one”
“when you pick up a resource, you gain major expedition for 15 seconds”
“when you research an item, you have a 10% chance to reduce the research time”
“when you sell an item to a merchant, you have a 10% chance to get double the gold”
“when you open a daily reward coffer, you have a 1% chance to get a second drop (whether just a zone gear piece or full benefit such as motif and so on”
“on successfully unlocking a chest you gain 25% increased gold find for 30 minutes”
“you attract a companion squirrel who follows you and has a chance to periodically finds you provisioning materials”
“when entering combat, you have a 50% chance to stun and break combat-locks (can stealth or mount or so on) for 3 seconds” (for gathering purpose, can’t be used in PVP/dungeons/trials)
AND these are just SOME of the super fun and cool ideas you could introduce as 5-piece bonuses for a whole new line of gear tailored towards non-combat players. If other players have set ideas, PLEASE post them below!! Whether it’s a 5pc bonus level or just a 2pc/3pc/4pc. Additionally maybe there could be an 11 or 12 piece set for non-combat and/or gathering buffs.
-A way for guilds to track dues and even better if you can implement a system to automatically grant and remove access based on dues paid or not.
THATS ALL FOR NOW! Thanks for reading and supporting and commenting to add your very own exciting ideas!
Edit:
A couple community suggested ones I want to highlight as well (THANK YOU!):
-portal furnishing to transport a player from a given spot to another spot within the housing instance.
-the ability to pick where players spawn/enter in a player house.
-a weekly highlight on a zone to encourage higher player count for that zones dailies.
