Writhing Wall Event: What do you like about it?

Love the siege camps even if some of my characters have to go else where to get their vitrified souls, it is still fun to work with others to kill everything. Like the new furnishing plans, and the field marshals, the new pet we collected the bits for. The crafting is not really overwhelming, but at least it is an easy way to help the war effort. The new motif was OK, still getting it after all this time it is not something I look forward to seeing though.

And the Coldharbour Estate for my second account was nice, even if at first I did not notice they had got it. Main account already had it for years and at least it gives something for my third account to try and get.

the 3 daily golden boxes, otherwise events are pretty repetitive and the purple boxes don't seem to give much loot.

I loved the fact that although I hadn't forked out for the Season Pass, I could still participate and get the mount, two pets and the style pages. I haven't got any of the motifs, but they seem to be quite reasonably priced at guild traders.

Forgot to mention the horsey and doggo from the Twitch drops - they were actually nicer than the GP rewards B)

Yeah, the crafting dailies are great. Boom, boom, boom, and you're done with them for the day.

I always manage to get the vitrified souls, unless I arrive at the camp quite late.

Related to this, as far as looting the big baddie goes, I think it's bugged. I've been at a camp with fewer than 12 people, but I wasn't able to loot the boss. OTOH, yesterday I rode up as the last boss was down to about 3M health. So I missed all the mobs with the soul reapers and hardly did anything to take down the boss. I got something like 4 hits in and I was able to loot the boss, and there were way more than 12 people there. So in terms of looting the big baddie boss at the camps, something isn't working right.

It's weird that the Coldharbour estate isn't gold, or flashing, or anything when it appears in the loot for a box. I've seen others comment on that elsewhere.

I think you took a wrong turn somewhere. This is a thread for what you like, not what you don't like. There are 300 other threads for complaints. What do you like about the event? If nothing, no need to respond.

    - I like the quick XP you get, though it's a pity mobs from the siege camps give none.
    - The new furnishing plans are nice, though it's annoying how phase 1 plans drop constantly and phase 2 ones barely do.
    - The invaded delves (I haven't checked the public dungeons) are a nice touch and the furnishings the bosses drop are cool.

A good idea for a thread! OP is right, there is plenty of discussion of what folks don't like, but I agree that it is important to let our devs know in what areas they hit the mark in a good way. :)

I like that the event does not keep you in Solstice. Vitrified souls can be gathered in most zones. The supplies quest is nicely done back in the wonderful basic nonDLC alliance zones.

I also like the wide variety in the four daily quests - something for everyone.

The lens does look pretty cool as it slowly burns into the writhing wall.

I like how nice the Stirk Fellowship Motif is and that it dropped at a high enough rate that I was able to quickly get into the spirit of the event by using it. I have been using my mage's guild girlie for it rather than my main because I just feel like she'd be the one most involved. And I like how nicely the motif dyes, it really makes her look like a guild mage participating in this fellowship. I like how many people are participating. I like the looks of the camps and Meridian lens. I also find the NPC outfits being bugged to be so fun and funny. The random outfits that can spawn are great.

i think at its base its a really good concept for community events it does have flaws but those can be learned from biggest issue i think is lack of quality loot for vet players and drop rates for good stuff is a little to low but it having it own line of quests is great compared to just basic quests we have been doing for zones

This event proves to be very useful indeed. Apart from the many people who are so fed up with the Stirk Fellowship that they decide to join us, we have plentiful opportunities to test and improve our Soul Reapers. Since the beginning of the event on the 13th of Frostfall, we could conduct about 7,200 Soul Reaper tests on willing Stirk participants. Lord Mannimarco is very pleased with the progress we made. He also really appreciated the gift I brought him in person. Please continue with the event so we can bring our Soul Reapers to perfection. Praised be Mannimarco!

Of course now I have to ask: what gift?

You know, considering that soul reapers take any soul, Stirk or Worm, and that so many "tests" have been conducted, and that the souls go to power the Wall...well, is it really any surprise we haven't gotten it down yet?

I also wonder what the numbers would look like if players could have actually chosen a side in this war--Worm or Stirk--but this really isn't the thread for that discussion.

It looks like the event isn't going anywhere anytime soon, so you'll have a chance to get those Reapers perfected, I'm sure.

I like the idea, generally speaking, of the camp getting more decorated/built as we contributed to it. An expansion of this or cleaning it up a little would be an awesome thing to see in the future if they tried to do something with a contributions counter again.

The haj mota is nice too. I collect haj mota so expanding my turtle pond was pretty swell.

Well, actually we always send the same 15 people. We just recycle them (resurrecting a thrall takes 5 minutes). The Order of the Black Worm cares for the environment!

The meridian lens and way the camps develop is cool.

While the drop rates are not good, I like the rewards quite a bit - from twitch drops, to golden pursuits, to the delve boss furnishings, to the actual drops from the quests, I quite like the range of things available. I just wish they had structured the release of rewards and drop rates differently.

The ability for people who didn't buy the pass to still participate and get many of the rewards was nice.

I do credit them for trying something different, even if it was under baked.

Honestly, nothing. The competition, the inaccessible zone, the repetition, the obfuscation of the progress bars, the lack of interesting rewards. And that it has been going on for almost a month now. It is maddening and I just want it to end.

I'm still waiting to get to the part I like. Nothing has brought back any nostalgia from the past or revamped my passion for the story as of yet. I am someone who reads and listens to the whole story and even as someone who like Darien, the reunion was emotionless to me. His new super powers and lack of old self aweless is like greeting a pal with Alzheimer's. I'm sure it will get better because it couldn't get worse for me.

A lot of good points with which I agree in this thread (thanks OP for opening it).

I'd add: after dry months for traders, this event let me made millions - nice!

Also, aside from peak times when insane DPS gets poured on incursion's bosses, those fights feel worth like something big, that "war", is really happening. It's not like Alik'r Dolmens where you spend more time riding horses hoping to give a hit; the ride to a camp feels worth the battle it offers, and when main camp spawns it's hype.

I collected the Stirk motif and the Wormwrithe outfit style, and I have different alts wearing them. I was fortunate and had the Coldharbour property drop from a siege camp box. I fought the Worm Cult bosses at several different delves and public dungeons. Lately I have been doing siege camps and a crafting quest to get three gold boxes per day. I am curious to try the dungeon we see through the wall once PS/NA gets update 48 on Nov 12 and Phase 2 finishes.

things I like with this event:
    • it's new
    • a community event that brings everyone together around a shared story
    • some loots are cool

Apart from that, it's extremely boring.

I think it would have been BETTER if we could clearly see the progress, other than just a simple progress bar. If we could see the camp improving, the number of warriors increasing as, I don't know, buildings gradually being constructed, then yes, that would have been really nice. In 2025, ZOS isn't capable of doing that?
