not really. plunder skulls are really Blah this year. Time was I could get 100 - 200 and have the entire Hollowjack Motif. Or Dremora. Not anymore. I have gotten well over 100 from different sources and only 3 different Dremora pieces.

Also not a fan of - Boss superpower of Instant Death - no save, no resistance, do not pass Go, do not collect $200, plus Boss is Faster than you are and his area effect stretches from Portland, Maine to downtown London. Did I mention you are in an enclosed area and literally have no safe spots to avoid the attack and wait until it's safe to go back to attack him?

but of course, the reward is reeeeeeelly wonderful

Like always, it's fine. Extra stuff to do, extra XP, drops and ticket items. I think that some more Halloween quests would have been nice, but I realize that ZO might be busy with the season content and they supposedly have less staff working there now.

I would actually love more solo quests for the event, I don't like having to find groups to do the Crow and Hollowjack fights so I pretty much don't bother. But they have been adding little things here and there to events and we're also going to get more quests for New Life so here's hoping for next year...

It's my favourite returning event because it rewards doing all kinds/levels of (PvE) activities while still nudging you towards different types of content. The special bosses are pretty decent for event bosses and you can manage the amount of 'challenge' with your group size which is good. It's obviously not as good of an event for people who have been playing this game for years and have all previous rewards, but if you are that kind of player you really don't have to go out of your way to get the new rewards anyway.

It is nearly the end of 2025 and ZoS is still releasing new identical, unstackable, runeboxes...

Can we not apply the lessons we have learned? Where did the focus on QoL go?

I love the event and it's one of my favorites, but as a vet player, I was a bit disappointed that there wasn't more new items to work towards or farm.

dremora pieces drop from specific gold skulls, basically been that way since the gold skulls were added

• dremora legs and bow motifs can come from the arena plunder skull
• belts and staves can come from delve plunder skull
• helmet and mace from group dungeon skull
• glove and dagger from incursion skull
• boots and shields can come from public dungeon/sweeper boss skull
• chests and swords come from trial skulls
• shoulders and axes come from WB skulls

unique cases from that is

• the infinite archive skull can drop any weapon from dremora motif
• the wiki did not appear to list the specific motifs that come from the crow and hollowjack quests

Coming late to the OP's post, but it's not hugely different from the other Witches Festivals. I like the Fall/Halloween vibe and it's an excuse to wonder how many of those decorations the crows will hide from the devs this year so they can be chasing them down for the next month or two. My characters are still chasing a few scattered Dremora chapters and a handful of recipes (completionist characters, not necessity). Having fun with both event bosses, though.

Just wanted to add to my earlier comment that my favourite part of this festival is the unique quests and encounters. The loot seems worse this year than before though. I don't even look forward to the golden boxes anymore, which only drop dremora pages and the face marking, and prefer to get the mats from the purple boxes.
