Look, nobody is a bigger fan of this game than me. I’ve played since the beta. But the event isn’t fun. I’m generally pretty happy with the game but this event is a huge disappointment.

I'm finding it great fun. There's a reason the adage exists.

how long do you play? couple months? year? do such stuff for 9 years and you won't find such stuff fun.

It's a bummer seeing everyone, except Gabriel H (Zos always has at least one), not having a good time. I've yet to play it, and I will. I'm actually leading a rostered, very full group for the dailies tonight lol. The officers have been hyping this stuff up for weeks, making groups. Sharing info. I hope we can all be Gabriel H tonight.

Backed out of the event after 30 minutes. Running in circle except for the Armorer quests.

Yeah I’m about to give up on it too tbh. The vitrified souls is another terrible one. The drop rate is atrocious and you need fifteen? I don’t know who thought this would be fun.

They drop like candy from the siege camps.

Not for everyone. The game's notorious RNG design often leaves players entirely out of luck on a daily basis. For every player that is having great luck, there's another player who's having horrendous luck. Been that way in ESO from day one.

That is how randomness works will low drop rates. I generally don't like much randomness in drops in gaming unless it is something I can ignore. Randomness for something that fulfills a quest is trash game design, but, sadly, popular for people that are into grinding.

Yeah, a bit disappointed with the siege camps. Obvious they're designed to be soloed 3 years from now when no-one shows up (to avoid the Harrowstorm situation).

Got a setup with Thrassian, Dead-Water, Shooting Star/Soul Harvest under the assumption that it would be swarming with adds.

Nope. you fight only 3 adds at a time and chonky DPS checks. And the public dungeon is practically empty with higher player participation lol (what a double-edged sword).

Here's hoping things ramp up with more enemies and multiple camps being sieged at once (with uncontested siege camps detracting from siege progress meter).

Also gotta say like, wow, I can't see the ground at all anymore, so many VFX's. If these bosses actually had punishing mechanics it'd be reoccurring insta-kills outta nowhere, lol.

    Title says everything.

Same dolmens as in base game, just a daily grind, nothing unique, nothing interesting. Shame, ZOS, you promised something interesting, but made a copypasta.

There is a very obvious reason to it: everytime ZOS was making a one-shot event/promotion/FOMO, people were crying and complaining on this forum.

    Every. Freaking. Time.

This is the same reason why you still have people in 2025 asking for the Dragon's Treasure Trove to be available again. I personally don't have this item and I'm 100% against the fact of making it available again.

Too many people nowadays need to get everything everytime everywhere. I just feel like we're evolving in a childish system where some good balanced frustration can't be tolerated anymore. And this is how I personally explain the fact that so many endgame players have fled and left ESO behind: ZOS has become far too easy in any of its aspects and doesn't bring any challenge anymore.

Pretty sure this dude's talking about the actual gameplay itself, not the rewards.

I actually don't know what you're on about either regarding rewards. What if the Dragon's Treasure Trove was reintroduced behind challenging content? Tacked onto a Vet Trial relating to dragons, a rare drop. Gives players interested in it a method to acquire it and engage with other players, and if unbound can create an economy of vet players farming the item to sell on markets.

FOMO rewards create content gaps in the playerbase: Were you a player at this time? Did you have the time to put in or did other responsibilities prevent you from engaging? If no: You never to get to interact with this content, with no possibility of future engagement.

Now, not saying that FOMO rewards should never be a thing (gotta rope people in), but take the approach of: This FOMO means you can access the thing faster and easier, perhaps with narrative ties, but it will return next year as a permanent item, though with much harder requirements to acquire.

Don't complain, this is only phase one. It's already on 2,2%.... No wait back down on 0,9%.... Does this mean the Worm Cult is winning? Either way, as I said, this is only phase one. Phase two and phase three are going to blow your mind for sure!! Siege camps will stop bugging and resetting as soon as they spawn, enemies will start dropping the quest items with 100% chance, and the new quests will be something unlike anything ESO has ever done. /s

In any case, I've run a load of quests and what I noticed is the coffers that drop after the 4 golden ones have literally only decon trash in them, therefore making it pointless to farm. As with so many of these events, the real winners now are people with multiple accounts that can farm the Golden boxes several times. Everyone else has 4 chances at something interesting and that's it.

    the problem with this event is the phase division. The first phase is extremely dull and identical to everything we've been doing in ESO for the past 11 years;

That said, I tried the full version on the PTS, with phase 3 included, and I found phase 3 particularly fun.

I don't mind doing the camps and stuff, but the purple reward boxes are essentially pointless. In most of them, all I get is one piece of overland trash. Not even a treasure item that I can sell to a merchant. As far as rewards go, this momentous event is a huge fail.

Once I finish the golden pursuit, I'll just be doing three dailies for the golden box. If you want me to repeat quests, make it worthwhile.

OTOH, I'm enjoying the story quest, and I like the concept of the three phases and supporting the war effort. The camps are fun as long as there are enough people there. It's great to see so many players around, and I'm curious to see what phases 2 and 3 bring.

But please...ZOS, if you want players to participate beyond doing the minimum for GP or golden boxes, you must do something about your reward system, if not for this event, then for future events. It sucks. I mean, it really, really sucks.

I think folk are forgetting that completion of this event is the only way we can get the part 2 of solstice. Content we paid for

On top of that, this is like any other event and golden pursuit ZOS has done in the pass only difference is they're going the Gw2 living world route. We've all gotten mounts and pets from events previouslly

You know what’s fun? Spending 20 mins light attacking trolls in Eastmarch in the hopes of getting to drop “creature fat” for a quest when the majority either don’t drop anything or only some gear. If only this had been called out on the PTS… oh wait it was. Three months ago. A shining example that PTS is just for marketing purposes.

This was the worst part of it. Most of the enemies were already dead from other players and when I found one it dropped nothing. Then you had to do these quests multiple times! Events that force competition between players for drops are never fun.

I don’t understand how these soul reapers just magically appear at the siege camps either. It would make more sense if we were actually fighting enemies that came through the wall, at the wall. I guess that is stage 2?

Three hours to do all of the daily quests today on one character. That is too much of a time commitment to do each day.

After getting the golden boxes you’re better of doing the regular Solstice dailies. The rewards are better since the blue event boxes only seem to be rewarding blue overland gear.

Except the progress bar back then was real. You had to put your back into it to get the new concent unlocked.
Later on we transferred servers to help smaller servers out so they could get their war efforts done too.

Eso doesn't have that. The progress bar isn't real. They already sold us the entire DLC with the content pass.
It's a timer at best. Displaying roughly how much time they give us to keep the player count high.
To keep the twitch viewer count high.

And what we get in return? Watch 8 hours to receive a pet and mount they sold you already in previous years. Farm the event like a madman and maybe get a super rare chance of receiving the coldharbor estate you already bought for milions of gold or, for whatever reason, actual money already. Or spam uninspired dailies on multiple characters. Maybe even multiple accounts because your fear of missing out runs just that deep, and have your own live report on just how bad the drop rates for everything just are to make sure you spend as much time ingame as humanly possible. Stay engaged. Not entertained, just engaged.

Sorry, this is more of a rant than anything. But my disappointment is immense. And I'm an idiot for actually paying money for this while the "new" stuff gets shoved into the store and new crates on end for every person out there that grows tired of this and seeks their reward differently.
