Can't fight back bug....

I've had it happen often. I'm thinking after an interrupt. (have to watch more closely next time) but it never lasts for more than a few seconds. I figured it was a "silence" gone wild.

I can confirm this happens to me and my wife also - like others, I thought it was a stun at first or lag, but it happens at least once a day and really annoying.

as someone suggested, /reloadui works, (I guess this confirms it as a bug), but more often than not, /reloadui causes your character to die to the mob you were fighting.

An interesting side effect, occasionally, when I use /reloadui my character returns and is only able to move at a walk. When this happens, only a re-log will work.

Had this happen quite a lot but more so today.

Start fighting then I can't hit anything.

I can walk slowly and block but no skills or abilities work.

Still have it on all my character with the worst being on my 2H Templar. About 90% of the time that I cast with my sword still sheathed it will bug out. Draw sword then cast and the bug rate drops to about 10%

I do a quick double esc esc to clear it up. Problem is on bad days(it's worse for me on some days) I will no sooner fix it than it bug right back out with next attempted attack. Very annoying. Very frustrating trying to lvl my Templar with this bug

I have had this bug happen also, first time I thought it was a bug second time I pressed F1 by accident and then ALT to close the window and it fixed the problem.

I have this bug happen on every character at least a couple of times per session. Opening a menu window and closing it "fixes" it.

I've died from this bug. Frankly I'm about sick of it. As much as this next statement might annoy folks, I have to say it.

I am seriously reconsidering subbing further into the game. Haven't played in a couple of days because I am just tired of the bs.

reporting spammers in chat, reporting spammers in ingame mail, and dealing with bug after bug, disconnecting 2 or 3 times during play. I am a patient person, I may come back and check the game out in a few months or six...hoping that by that time they've polished this up a bit.

I like the game, but...frankly my patience is wearing due to bugs like this.

This is the one bug that almost makes me quit the game every time it happens. Which is almost every day since launch.


I finally found out about alt-tab to get out of it by accident.
I'll try the escape and enter work arounds now as well.

As this happens to me too, I have found that simply opening the mail screen (hotkey ") will fix the problem.

I play a Nightblade and believe this is happening due to delays within attack animations of your character. I have not fully tested this theory, but it seems as though if you try to rapidly use an ability after one that has a longer animation you will get stuck trying to perform the secondary attack and never get it off.

For example, Soul Swallow has a very long animation (god knows why) where your character extends his/her arm and after a delay will launch a red bolt at the enemy to deal spell damage, then must pull his arm back into his chest. If I move into melee range before the spell animation has finished and cast say Puncture (a physical and different ability) my character will begin the animation for puncture but never finish it, thus resulting in me unable to take any action save for run and potions.
Potions are on a separate action queue since they have a CD to them, which might explain why you are able to still use a health pot.

I get this quite a bit and have reported it probably 20 times. Press ESC twice and you should be able to use your abilities again. Very annoying especially when you are fighting some tough VR content.

Yeah, this still happens to me too. At first I thought I was going nuts, as my husband said he didn't have anything like that happen to him, but now he's had it happen a number of times as well. It seems tohappen at random times during combat, to both my sorc and my NB, no specific skill or ability causing it. It is very annoying to die at least once per play session to something that isn't my fault and can do little about. The ESC can work, but often by the time you realize you have the bug, hit esc twice, you are 90% down and have no chance to recover the battle, and you die anyway. Hope they fix is soon, but as it's been a known issue since early beta, I'm not holding my breath.

Yea I get this a lot more it seems like lately. I can't do anything except hit Esc twice and then continue to fight. It's incredibly annoying and resulted in my death a few times. I thought I read in one of the patch notes that they fixed it but clearly it's not.(I'm a NB does this mean I am whining?)

I've been looking for answers to this everywhere. I've likewise experienced this since Beta on every character I have (from 30 Nightblade to V5 Templar). I've submitted bug reports as well but in absence of any feedback and not seeing it in the forums lead me to suspect it was somehow....me? Finally asked about it in guild and learned it was common. Now I'm seeing reports of it in several threads but still no official comment / feedback. I'm guessing that it's low on the priority list given the broken quests, economy wrecking motif farming/hoarding fiasco and the war on RMT Bots...

...Sigh...I guess for now we just have to hit escape as fast as we can
