Tickets. I thought it would be a good idea to use my tickets towards the fragments of Doomchar Plateau. I have wanted this house for quite sometime and was excited I could finally purchase it after waiting since I first started the game. I check ESO hub and notice its not on the list of things being sold by the assistant event vendor for Jubliee. WHY?! There is no way to earn enough tickets during the previous Jester event to purchase for 50 tickets minimum (not including pet). I was planning on earning the rest of the tickets with this event to purchase the house, but it seems I have to hope it "shows up" whenever the next event rolls around. I hate you ZOS

Big ticket items like that are seasonal, each season divided into quarters. Indrik mounts are the same way as which particular Indriks you can acquire change each season. Doomchar was Jan/Feb/Mar. Now we're into the Apr/May/Jun season.

Making the player base wait for years so they can complete some event based reward is all part of their "player retention" strategy. :/

AFIK its fragments (returning from the very first appearance, where one had 3 months to get them) were sold for the last 3 months. Its not the game's fault that you realized it too late. Just tough luck on your side.
But now that you know that it reappears cyclic, you can be there when it is time next year, probably at the start of january. :)

This is a poor argument. It is in fact game design that allows these fragments to be available for a limited time. They want me to buy event tickets in the crown store to make up the difference. That's what rubs me the wrong way. Also, I am being punished for not playing the game in previous events before jester event, even though I started with 12 tickets ready to spend? That would mean players aren't allowed to take a break from the game.

I mean... I'm not a huge fan of FOMO, but that is literally the point. MMOs survive on players habitually logging in, so if the game encouraged them to take breaks, then that makes the game look less successful to the suits upstairs.

It's one of those things that I understand, even if it may not be "nice." Server hardware and developer salaries don't run on promises of "Oh, I'll come back and play when I get around to it."

ESO's event stuff fortunately is on a cyclical system, and FOMO is a lot easier to handle if there is a set date for something to come back. I'd be perfectly happy if any of the other time-limited things had a "this will come back on X date," even if it was a year out. At least then there's a way to plan for it. The other store stuff though that they wait two, three years and still not bring back? No, that sucks.

Its time for MMOs to move on and adapt to the changing game scene. Just as RTS have been dethrone, so have MMOs. There are too many games that exist now that this only encourages players to quit the game. I have already taken extended breaks and only come back for friends. If this keeps adding up, players just wont want to log onto a game that is inconvenient at every corner in game design.

The morphing collectibles is one of those things that's simple on paper when you're only looking at one simple daisy chain to get a specific item, and a complicated headache when you're tracking dozens of different fragments, some of which morph, some don't. Some are achieves, some aren't. Some are FOMO time-gated, some are tied to Events, some aren't. And if they're time-gated, sometimes they return, and sometimes if you stalk announcements and data mines you might possibly have an idea as to when. Maybe. Perchance. Best of luck and all.

Whew. It's just... spaghetti. MMOs aren't exactly a newfangled concept - I really wish developers could remember how to simplify and streamline an ongoing product. As it is, so many MMO developers just let the bloat fester for years and throw up their hands like, "What could we possibly do about all this bloat NOW???"

And people will rush to defend that absurdity. They will agree that yes, what could they possibly do about it? They'll say players just need to accept that's how it is or move on.

And I'm just like... It didn't have to be this way in the first place. They chose this. They could actually fix it. Yes: it would cost time and money, and not everyone would like it. But I think they'd have a healthier product if it got an overhaul. Systems. Hardware. Graphics. It all needs help.

Instead we're just supposed to accept the game rotting on the vine. They'll beat this dead horse for all it's worth instead of just feeding the horse.

Same. :/ I wasted 10 tickets on the 1st Doomchar frag.

From now on I will just use tickets in small consumables and stop trying to pursue one of the big things.

At the very least they should add in the fragments descriptions "this will be available until xxxx".

Honestly, the schedule could be A LOT clearer. I think I keep up fairly well with their social media announcements, and yet I was still blindsided when I found out yesterday that I won't be able to get my last Doomchar fragment this year.

These fragments, morphs and rotation schedules are finicky enough that we really need a clear schedule to plan our tickets.

DenverRalphy is correct, I wanted the Doomchar Plateau so I did my homework and found that it was available for the first quarter so I started gathering fragments and I have it. I know you wanted it but it will not be available for the second quarter. I wished ESO would place a schedule but if you go to the Events tab, you will see.

You weren't punished. If a player fails to plan properly, that's on the player.

I wouldn't put it all on the player.

The Current event you can get 1 scroll per day toward the super duper rare mount

There are 20 days of the event

The Mount costs 25 scrolls ....

It is Not possible to earn the mount in a single Year WITHOUT purchasing 5 scrolls using crowns.

      :#

I suppose you could hold your 20 and HOPE the same event happens next year

You do realize that you get 1 fragment per day from the gold box. That's 20 fragments right there. You only need to buy 5 fragments with tickets. So why buy them with crowns?

Just give them a call. I've heard they will sometimes allow you to buy the item, maybe in this case they will let you turn in your tickets for it. Just depends on who you get on the call and whether you are nice when you call.

No they are tracked in collections, so no inventory issues.

You could only buy the pieces for one season when they were first available in 2021, too. It is no harder to get now than when originally released.

There were 102 tickets available during Q1 2025. That is enough for all 5 pieces of Doomchar Plateau, all 3 pieces of the Deadlands pet, all 3 pieces of the Q1 2025 item, and 1 piece of the 2025 pet. You could literally buy everything to acquire Doomchar Plateau without impacting your ability to get everything for 2025 by the end of this year. Heck, you could probably buy an Indrik or two, as well, this year, without missing out on all the 2025 event items.

It seems like a reasonable balance between what the players want from events (getting tickets, getting past items, getting current items) and what ZOS wants from events (logging in and playing on a regular basis all throughout the year).

The event ticket / event system is terrible.

If the idea is that you should need to play through multiple events in order to purchase one item with multiple fragments, then you HAVE to make the fragments available for purchase at every event.

This is why the pan-Tamriel event was so popular! They actually brought back tons of old items and people could choose what to spend their tickets on instead of being forced into the current ‘seasonal’ reward fragments collection.

The way it currently works is just asinine for new players or players that missed an event in any quarter of the game.
