PLEASE increase Sovereign Sow fragments with upcoming Jesters Festival

I've been trying for years to get the last 2 fragments for the Sovereign Sow. This is the only event pet I have ever cared about having, and being only 2 fragments away for years is beyond frustrating. We only have one chance a day to get these and failing day after day, year after year, is sucking all the fun out of the event.

PLEASE increase the drop rate of these fragments this year.

While I sympathize, there really isn’t much that can be changed about this event now. The event’s drop rates and stats were set when this event was tested on PTS in January.

Every event tests on PTS during the patch before it releases, so if there are things anyone wants to let the team know about, the PTS test is the time to do so. We should be getting a new PTS very soon after the reveal, which will likely have another MYM along with the events upcoming between June and September timeframe.

They greatly increased the drop rate on the replica weapon styles. They can do this too.

How much work could it possibly be just to put fragments for sale for tickets? Why would that need tested?

Or put them for sale for crowns. That wouldn't need any testing.

And why are these fragments so rare anyway? It's for a pet pig.

Yes, and the great increase in anniversary page drop rates were during subsequent events: the Pan-Tamriel (tested end of September 2024) and the next Anniversary event (tested end of Jan 2025). They can’t hotfix that during the event without a full patch.

I’m not defending ZOS’s decision here, I also think the drop rates for everything during the Jester’s event is obscenely low, especially since everything big seems to come from gold boxes and it’s a short event. However, as someone who is on PTS every patch, I also know how testing works and where and when changed can be made.
See here: this is a thread I posted during testing on PTS also saying that drop rates were too low
    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/671956/omg-i-adore-the-new-jesters-costumes#latest

Fortunately, someone did specifically mention the Sovereign Sow fragments in the official PTS thread for the Jester’s Event (https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/672301). But as a PTS tester, we could always use more people to give feedback - the PTS has been quiet lately, and it seems that fewer voices are easier to ignore when it comes to making bug or feedback reports.

They could sell them for crowns. That wouldn't require a patch.

Still not having all these fragments after trying since this event started in 2017 is not what I'd reasonably expect.

yea that isn't gonna change this year, like tomofhyrule said.

it could change when update 49 goes to PTS in January 2026, as Jester's Festival is always in quarter 1 updates.

Besides, ZOS won't change something just because ONE player says that.

If I ask ZOS to add, remove, increase, decrease. modify, etc., something, they won't do it just because I say so.

To add to this, it doesn't matter if a whole bunch of people collaboratively bump a thread to push for something if ZOS is against the idea. The amount of people advocating doesn't really make a difference; all we can really do is present the idea and hope ZOS writes it down for future consideration.

That's a thread of yours too.

A thread with 21 posts, where 6 posts are from you, one from a Dev moving the thread category, and where some of the posters there have more than one post.

So I'm being generous saying that it's like 6 or 7 players asking for this change.

6 or so players won't change something, otherwise I can get a couple of friends or guild mates, open a thread and change something in the game.

Also, as spartaxoxo said in your thread: "The first year it was a guaranteed drop from the boxes. Afterwards they changed that but still did not allow them to be traded..."

That means ZOS evaluated something and decided to change it intentionally.

That clearly tells you they want it that way.

I said it was a thread I started. And I said I asked for this before.

The overland content thread has been up for going on 4 years now with the same handful of players asking for change. Now they are going to experiment with it.

I've asked for this for a few years now and it's not unheard of that they may eventually make a change. Especially since this is just a pet pig from an event and not something that would require a big change in how the game works. So why should it be next to impossible to get?

Why they changed it then? Have you read the part where I said it was not like this before and they INTENTIONALLY changed it?

No, of course it matters. ZOS are a service provider and user experience should be a priority for them. We have already seen many times when they do whatever they want and don't listen to user feedback game population declines and their revenue accordingly.

Doesn't matter how many people are there. Most people don't bother coming to forums to posting. Doesn't make this concern any less valid. If ZOS changed it before then they can easily change it again. It only confirms that it's not a problem.

It's been pointed out many many times by pretty much all content creators both old and new that overland content in mind-numbingly easy. I get complaints from guildmates that overland is too easy all the time. So don't try to downplay a HUGE problem as something that a vocal minority is pushing.

FWIW, this year the fragments drop from the regular boxes and not just the Stupendous box. So if you have a lot of alts, you can crank out a lot of drop chances.

It's in the front page News article about the Jester's Festival. It outlines what each type of boxes drop.. I hilghted it below. Green is regular box drops, red is what the Stupendous adds to the drop.

I got one fragment today after 4 hours of doing nonstop event quests. I only did all of the quests on 3 of my characters, because it took almost an hour for each. The other 4 I just did the event starter quest, the bring the pig to the king quest, and king boar and the apple quest next to his quest giver.

Now I only need one more fragment to have this pig. Moving forward I will probably just do those 3 on each character because it's tiring to do so many, but that will be 21 chances a day. I hope I am able to get it tomorrow. At least I am more hopeful now.

There are SO many things there, that some of them should really be packed up and put in a Past Glories box for 2 event tickets, which will automatically give you *one* random bound, curated past item that you don't have, like with some other events (e.g. Mayhem).

The sow fragments, the old gold style pages (Second Seed, Regal Regalia, Cadwell Weapons), the Bucket and Broom style pages: mirth shards and revelry shards, popper parts and noise maker parts, daedroth jester minstrel costume fragments, the Pie of Misrule and Cherry Blossom Branch runeboxes, in each case IF AND ONLY IF you don't already have the associated collectible. All the things that are account-wide and thus you only need one of.

And you could take some things out of the Past Glories box (thus forcing it to give you something else instead) by using the unbound version, whether you got it from regular jester boxes or bought it from a guild trader. Until eventually the Past Glories box runs out of things to give you.

Also: Mirth Shards and Revelry Shards should become usable one-at-a-time, and be tracked by Achievements that grant the relevant Collectible, just like the popper parts and noise maker parts are. Rather than forcing you to have all five (or more) before you can use any.
