How do I see my homes on the Main Tamriel map again?

Hi!

With todays' update (MArch 10 2025), all my homes have disappeared from the Main Map of tamriel, except for my Primary one. I own most of the homes available, and I use them as wayshrines. So I need to see where they are on the main map. I do not want to have to enter an area and then look for my home in it. I want to see them on my main map as I also use them as deposits for my furnitures (yes, I do housing :)
So now I feel pretty much desperate looking at an empty map and thinking of the headache I will have from now on trying to remember where a certain home is located and then clicking on each region and see if it is there or not.

Is there a way to make the homes appear back on the main Tamriel map?
Maybe an addon that can do it?

I always used the addon "World Map Wayshrine Controller" to show exactly what I wanted to see. But that addon now is of no help.
My homes have all disappeared from the map :(

Hi @Renoir888. This is working as intended and apart of some of the new map improvements we've made in U45. You can see a general rundown here in the patch notes. Also included the line down below referring to this.

    Map Improvements
The team has been looking for ways to improve ESO’s in-game map, with the intention of making it easier to understand and parse for both new players and veteran players alike. While there are still more changes we wish to implement in future packages, the first batch of quality-of-life improvements includes the following changes:
    • The Tamriel view of the map will now only show one Wayshrine per zone.
    • The Tamriel view of the map will now only show favorited and primary homes. You may still favorite as many homes as you’d like.
    • Dungeons and Trials will no longer be shown by default on the Tamriel view of the map, but can still be toggled on.
    • The Tamriel, Blackreach, and Aurbis views of the map now have a more catered filter list.
    • The ‘Wayshrines’ filter has been split into the following filters:
      • Wayshrines
      • Dungeons
      • Trials
      • Houses
    • If you have a focused quest, the quest’s ultimate location will now show on the Tamriel and Aurbis maps. If the ultimate location is on the ring of the Aurbis, the location will be shown on the appropriate symbolic location, like Clockwork City.
    • Quest indicators, group member indicators, and player indicators will now show on symbolic locations if said indicators are pointing to those locations.
    • The names of zones in the Tamriel view of the map will now appear as you zoom in.
    • When hovering over a Wayshrine, the name of the zone will now appear in the tooltip.

I think maybe they meant to mark your own houses as favorites if you want to see them on the map of Tamriel?

I haven't been on yet, so I'm very curious to see how it's all going to work now. I own nearly every house in the game on my primary server, and like you I use many of them as wayshrines.

    Hi @Zos_Kevin

"The Tamriel view of the map will now only show favorited and primary homes. You may still favorite as many homes as you’d like."

Favorited homes are not showing up on the Tamriel Map.

And if they did it would be a problem. What if I favorited the same home for 30 different players? Would I see one home on the map or the same home 30 times? Or would I get a drop down menu with the names of the players when I click on the Favorited home on the map?

I think by adding your own house to Favorites, they don't mean a Home Tours Favorite, but instead from the Collections menu. The same way you favorite costumes etc..

Collections -> Housing -> Category of House -> Select the House -> Actions -> Add to Favorites.

But I'm on PSNA, so I can't verify that at this time.

    Hi!

    That worked only partially.
The homes I favorited through the Collections did appear on the map.

BUT that used up my Favorite Collectible slots, and since I only had a few left available (after favorting costumes, personalities pets, etc. out of the 100 possible) I could only make a few homes appear.

SO the "You may still favorite as many homes as you’d like" is not true? We can only Favorite up to 100 but sharing that 100 slots with all other kinds of collectibles?

    (I own 66 homes)

@Renoir888 You can use this link to navigate getting to setting up your primary home: https://help.elderscrollsonline.com/#en/answer/37504

To favorite homes, follow these steps.
    • Go to your collections
    • Move to the housing tab
    • Right-click on the house you would like to favorite
    • Select "Add to favorites".

You can also follow those steps to make a home a primary residence.

I get that, but then cannot favorite as many as I like.

There is limit of 100 shared with all other kinds of collectibles (except mounts).

Is this a bug? Are the homes supposed not to count toward that limit of 100 collectibles? (Just like the mounts).

Just checked in with the team. This is not a bug. For now, there is the 100 collectible count and houses count toward that. We have let the team know about this instance and they are going to look into options down the line to improve the cap. But nothing confirmed or set in stone right now.

      Hi,

So the issue is that you have to Favorite them not from the Home Tours but from your Collectible.
      They will show up BUT...

The number of Collectible you can Favorite is set to 100, not to "as many homes as you’d like."
And you share those 100 slots with all your other collectible.

ZOS needs to check on that, if it is a bug, or make sure that the number of Favorite home is indeed "as many as you like".

I wasn't making a sly suggestion you should change to using the individual zone maps; I'm just saying the individual zone maps have always been my main way of traversing the world, and it has worked well for me, and I'm glad I don't have to deal with the headaches you Tamriel-level map users are experiencing.

It always works like that. The PTS is up for weeks on end, they ask for feedback and get it, but nothing happens.

And when it goes live, they're suddenly "oh, thanks for bringing this to our attention". Like, we did a few weeks ago? How can you be surprised?

It's why I don't bother with the PTS anymore. It's beyond useless.

It would be very nice to have the option to revert this change if we want to.

I understand the desire for a less cluttered map (I was already using an addon to remove map markers I don't want to see) but it's frustrating that it includes removing ones I use regularly.

Like the OP I use homes as wayshrines to teleport to zones (or to get me close to an actual wayshrine) and I don't want to have to zoom into individual zones to do that.

(Thankfully it seems like the update is not currently working for me as my map is unchanged, possibly because I use an addon to control which map markers appear, but I'm concerned this will be "fixed" in future and I'll lose quick access to my houses.)
