Not sure if this was mentioned before, but the Redguard Window, Iron Lattice can ruin the mood in the house... when it shines through the floor down into the basement.

It's so sad, such a pretty window but the reflection's can drive you nuts.

I think nearly all these type of windows in the game have the same issue.

I know the Vampiric Stained Glass does exactly the samr in Ebonheart Chateaux. When placed on the back wall opposite the entrance the reflections shine in the basement below, quite a feat through solid stone!! 😯

Is the light from this window always on or is it affected by the weather?

Stained Glass of Lunar Phases antiquity window does the same. I put it in an upstairs room in Linchal Manor. You walk in and see that thing shining clear down onto the ground floor level flooring.

@spartaxoxo In my case, that window is affected by weather. Cloudy/rain makes it not shine through stone flooring to another floor level. However, upcoming March update has PTS patch notes saying windows will no longer be affected by weather so I guess it’ll shine 24/7 in the future.

Lighting is always kind of bad in this game Housing-wise. It goes through walls and other solid objects like crazy. It doesn't make any sense and it's been like this ever since Housing was first introduced.
    Character List [RP and PvE]:
Stands-Against-Death: Argonian Magplar Healer - Crafter
Krisiel: Redguard Stamsorc DPS - Literally crazy Werewolf, no like legit insane. She nuts
Kiju Veran: Khajiit Stamblade DPS - Ex-Fighters Guild Suthay who likes to punch things, nicknamed Tinykat
Niralae Elsinal: Altmer Stamsorc DPS - Young Altmer with way too much Magicka
Sarah Lacroix: Breton Magsorc DPS - Fledgling Vampire who drinks too much water
Slondor: Nord Tankblade - TESified verson of Slenderman
Marius Vastino: Imperial <insert role here> - Sarah's apathetic sire who likes to monologue
Delthor Rellenar: Dunmer Magknight DPS - Sarah's ex who's a certified psychopath
Lirawyn Calatare: Altmer Magplar Healer - Traveling performer and bard who's 101% vanilla bean
Gondryn Beldeau: Breton Tankplar - Sarah's Mages Guild mentor and certified badass old person
Gwendolyn Jenelle: Breton Magplar Healer - Friendly healer with a coffee addiction
Soliril Larethian- Altmer Magblade DPS - Blind alchemist who uses animals to see and brews plagues in his spare time
Tevril Rallenar: Dunmer Stamcro DPS - Delthor's "special" younger brother who raises small animals as friends
Celeroth Calatare: Bosmer <insert role here> - Shapeshifting Bosmer with enough sass to fill Valenwood

I believe based on old posts that this light bleeding issue happened around the stonethorn dlc. It hasn't been addressed or fixed since.

Almost 3 years ago, during Stonethorn DLC PTS, something was silently done to lights in the whole game (and this includes housing). It ruined not only the look of environment, but also Worm Wizard personality and Shadow Rider Senche mount.

I thought that even original red light could be more subtle, but I love the fluffy sabre cat model anyway so I learned to love the light in it too:gdztUTj.png

I didn't make photos of that personality from behind before the bug, but you can imagine that it wasn't shining through my character's back.

Try turning the window around. I've done that with the Vampire window and it stopped it from shining into the room.

Spinning it around can work when using windows in pre-built structures but only if the reflection doesn't find another area to shine on.

When building your own structures spinning it round does just change where the reflection shines, so not that helpful!!

All player placed lights works like that in housing. Doesn't matter if it's a window with sun reflect effect or a lamp, they will shine through any material. They don't have shadows either.

The only lights that do are lights default to the house, such as sunlight.

Not related, this existed before this bug. It's the same "feature" that makes us able to place lights and such inside walls, floors etc and have them still shine through.

The bleeding light bug is annoying though, because it makes things worse and all lights in game, not just placed lights in houses.

I didn't realize this. I've only built 2 structures from the ground up and only used windows in one of those, and I wanted them to shine inside.

Spin the window around to the other side and it won't shine through.

I thought about it after I had put the windows in place - it does "fix" the mood in the basement, but it also ruins the nice mood on the floor with the windows where the light shines so beautifully into the room. It's really a general problem with the light that will hopefully be fixed at some point.

It's always been that way, for all windows. At first I thought it was time-based. But it depends on the weather and if it's midnight. Because then the windows are turned off on any occasion. So it's good that we're getting a weather controller, because you can finally set up what you want properly.
So cloudy in almost all my houses
    Really sorry for my english
