Gaining a cp point didn’t count towards A “level” per the golden pursuit requirements. How many cp equates to a “level” on a baby toon? My account is full of grown up toons, lol, i can only gain CP 🙂

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom Some of the golden pursuit objectives award an outfit style page, called the evergreen saturnalia style. My questions are 1) Do these styles only drop from doing the specific objectives, or will they also be available by other means? 2) One of the objectives is 'earn event tickets' (it awards the sword style), but there is no active event going on right now, so if someone completed the golden pursuit by doing the other activities, does this mean they would be locked out of that style page? Because if that style page only drops from the event ticket objective it means that we have to wait for the next event AND try not to accidentally complete the pursuits until then (which is hard because a lot of them are just usual daily activities...). Some of my guild mates reported already doing 7 objectives just by doing their usual daily activities, for instance, so it will be easy to reach 20 objectives way before the next event.

    • How can I disable the annoying popup message telling me to claim the golden pursuit which I have no interest in?
    • How can i disable the whole golden pursuit shennanigans that I equally have zero interest in and did not ask for?

In short, how can I disable or otherwise hide/remove this unwanted and unasked for 'feature'?

Also, generally, could you stop making unilateral gui changes without also providing a means for us, without having to resort to add-ons where available, to disable, remove or hide them. Change is good but choice is better!

    Thanks.

Great question! We double checked with the team that designed Golden Pursuits, and they had this to say:

"The 'Earn Level' tasks are specific for character levels. Champion Point levels will not count towards it. The December Golden Pursuit campaign is built to still allow max roster players to earn the capstone and freely earn all of the rewards associated with the campaign. They'll have a remaining 24 activities to participate in, with the Capstone being earned at 20 (and none of the activity rewards being on the level activities.) That said, we do welcome feedback for future Golden Pursuits!"

Another great question, thank you! In talking with the dev team, they said, "The Golden Pursuit Activities that reward individual weapon style pages, can only be earned by completing the associated activity. That said, players can still complete those activities, even after they complete the capstone. They won't be locked out of it. For example, the Earn 10 Event Tickets activity will be completable (alongside the Earn 15 New Life Festival Boxes), when New Life starts up on December 19. We designed these to be completable with wiggle room for the event."

Thank you so much for replying @ZOS_JessicaFolsom ! :) If I understood correctly, we can complete all 20 pursuits before the event, but when we earn 10 tickets during the event, we can still get the style page from that pursuit objective. If that's the case, that's great news, and it means players won't have to monitor or pace their activities before the event.

^ This, specifically, for example - there does not seem to be a way to ignore or dismiss this prompt without actually interacting with the golden pursuits.

Why has a means to disable/ignore/dismiss this (GUI design 101...) not been implemented?

If you press X on keyboard (not sure what keybind it is for controller), it will dismiss that prompt temporarily. That prompt will reappear any time you re-emerge from a load screen.

There's no way (without the use of addons) to suppress that prompt permanently. And pressing X on keyboard to (temporarily) dismiss the prompt is not telegraphed in the UI and so it is not discoverable by people who do not already know about it.

BTW, pressing X also works for the prompt for level-up rewards.

I don't mind the pursuits themselves, but the fact that "activities" turns golden in my menu when I don't have any action to take is super irritating. It's like I have a little red dot showing there are text messages I need to read, but the dot doesn't go away when I read them. Maybe make it golden the first time a new campaign is launched, and then again if I have something to claim? Golden text the entire time - even after I've finished the campaign - is annoying.

As far as being able to turn things on or off... it could be handy to have that for a lot of things. The entire reason I haven't leveled Bastian to 20 is that I don't want to get his potion clutter in my inventory. The other companion perks are beneficial, but his potions are underwhelming (kind of fits with his whole vibe though) and I don't need more inventory work. I'm on PS5 so add-ons that keep things clean aren't an option.

Same general thought about things like guild text chat - I've left guilds that were otherwise great just because the chatter was overwhelming and there's no way to turn it off for a single guild. Or no way to turn off zone chat but leave guild chat on. So while I'm not irritated about the entire pursuit situation like tincanman, I do think some interface options could make people happy.

Thanks, @code65536! This sounds like the same issue we were seeing last month, and we do have a bug in for it. We're still trying to nail down the cause. We can confirm, at least, that this is not working as intended.

Thanks for the feedback, @tincanman! If you could choose, what specific functionality would you like to see? Is it specifically the ability to toggle on/off in-game pop-up notifications?

    As per my posts above:
    • The ability to dismiss/ignore/disable the prompt. Just getting that prompt off-screen would be a useful start; I expect some others might be in the middle of something and may want to return to the Golden Pursuit interface later at their leisure rather than have the persistent prompt. Perhaps, push it to notifications (which already exists with a well-developed interface) where it can be reviewed and responded to later, for those who want to? I expect others would prefer it as is which is why a disable/enable toggle, for me, would be preferred, but a compromise might be a fade-timeout with the prompt pushed to notifications at the timeout end(if such were implemented, the ability to set the timeout timer would be a winner as it could be set to zero, effectively shunting the prompt to notifications immediately...)?
    • The ability to disable the golden pursuit interface thing altogether; it's very much like seals of endeavour but more shouty, visually speaking. I can ignore seals of endeavour because they are not as intrusive. But Golden Pursuits are very intrusive. The GUI has the yellow marker within 'groups' and also, when other interface features are active there is the incongruous yellow icon top-screen. I get that you are trying to associate gold/yellow and therefore draw attention but, with respect to the rest of the gui, it is anomalously intrusive.

    Thanks.

Correct! You won't be locked out of the outfit style activities and rewards, even if you do other ones that don't have it first. There is no lockout of those rewards at all.

As we have @ZOS_JessicaFolsom assisting us here, just offering a potential solution to the issue brought up on this thread (https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/669790/golden-pursuits-earn-levels#latest) where some players are unhappy that having 20 fully leveled characters has effectively removed 5 options from their Golden Pursuits and of course others are arguing it's not a big deal - do something else. Anywhoooo......

Perhaps there is time to amend "earn X levels" to include CP levels such as "earn X levels or X CP levels" to allow inclusion of both the new players and veteran players - giving both the same number of options in total to choose from?

While I don't have a guar in this race and can do enough to earn all of the rewards either way, it's been truly disheartening to read so much disgruntlement about something that was intended to be an awesome, earnable set of rewards for us.

    Happy Holidays!

So I am penalized for already having reach 3600 and 20 characters and having stuck with ESO so long with time and money invested.

Not a good way to reward your faithful. Being honest I am upset about it. I do not get to choose what I do or play as I want to and still earn the rewards. I am limited in how I can get it for being faithful player and supporter of the game.

You are not treating your faithful fairly and refusing to do anything about it but saying you can still get it just adds a slap on the face to go along with the disrespect you are showing towards use.

Again you are not listening but sticking your head in the ground and ignoring any meaning feedback.

The more I think about the more upset I become. It's not about the rewards. Honestly I could care less for them. It's just something I would earn and probably never use for any length of time.

What upsets me most is the feeling that my time energy and money doesn't matter to ZOS and that you take your faithful for granted. That we will "just suck it up buttercup and keep eating it by the spoonful".

Know this will be deleted probably but how else are we supposed to give feedback and tell how you make us feel.

To me this feels like doing (some) of the Golden Pursuits is more of a chore than normal playing or fun. It feels like I'm being punished for buying all available character slots and leveling all characters on my account to level 50. The remaining 24 pursuits can (theoretically) be done by everyone, but losing 5 options for Golden Pursuits severely limits the choices you have. If we break down Golden pursuits it looks something like this:
    • 5 Level Up
    • 9 Single Player PvE (3 Complete Quests, 2 Kill Bosses, 1 Class Abilities, 1, Treasure Chests, 1 Incursions, 1 Harvest Ressources)
    • 4 Group PvE (2 Group Dungeons, 2 Trials)
    • 4 PvP (2 Battleground, 1 Alliance Points, 1 Kill Players)
    • 2 Infinite Archive
    • 1 Social (1 Visit Player Homes)
    • 2 Crafting (1 inside owned home, which means I have to have access to a crafting station in a home - certainly not a problem for veterans, but possibly for newer players)
    • 2 Event related

Out of those 29 Golden Pursuits, I would reckon that 18 could generally be completed by most players rather easily (5 Level Up, 9 Single Player PvE, 1 Social, 1 Crafting, 2 Event related). Though if you already have all your characters maxed, this number falls to 13.

5 can be done through a medium amount of perserverance (2 Group Dungeons, 2 Battleground, 1 Alliance Points), though it might include some failed attemps (bad luck with Dungeon Finder group mates or simply dying through Battlegrounds until you have gathered enough Alliance points).

3 most likely require a group and might be unattainable by some players, because it is not guaranteed that you can actually find said group (1 Kill Players, 2 Trials), because you're either really bad at PvP (I definitely am) or need someone to take you along on a Trial. If you're not able to play for a longer period of time, but maybe have to go AFK every once in a while, this might also pose a problem.

2 are Infinite Archive, which again might be a problem for newer players. And maybe even for very casual PvE-players.

I don't quite know how difficult I would rate the "craft inside owned home", because I have no idea how many players don't have that.

In the end, if you have maxed your characters and really don't like PvP, you're stuck with having to do every single other available pursuit. Or if you do like PvP (maybe you're an awesome Nightblade and can kill 10 players easily, even if you're solo), but you play at odd times and have a hard time finding someone for PvE group content, your choices are again severely limited.

I do not doubt that I'm able to complete the necessary number of Golden Pursuits. Only "Kill 10 Players" is very likely not on the table for me. But I would rather have a bigger pool to chose from, so that I don't have to spend my sometimes very limited playtime doing something I don't like very much (e.g. PvP or Infinite Archive).

tl;dr: Cutting down the number of Golden Pursuits that can technically be completed by absolutely everyone doesn't feel like a beneficial design choice.

I am quite certain that someone with max CP and max characters would have no difficulty completing the other options available to you. Meanwhile, those leveling pursuits that are unavailable to you are accessible to the kinds of new players who would have difficulty accessing content like trials.

Accommodating a broad range of players means some pursuits will make no sense to you, just as there are pursuits that I'm sure you can easily do that would be quite inaccessible to a new player.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom I'm reporting here that one of the options for the Golden Pursuit is likely not working as intended: I unlocked the "craft 50 items" by doing them in bulk and it worked; I did that directly in my house and the "craft 20 items in a house" counted just 1/20. I tested this a couple times more and it force-required me to craft 1 item at a time; all items I used to craft in bulk I won't have them back and they didn't count.
Maybe you could hotfix this for other players?

Aside from this, I think I appreciate this Golden Pursuit more than a regular event, and it will keep me busy returning to play more ESO, so... Positive feedback from me

Thank you @SkaiFaith! We've confirmed that the "craft 20 items in a house" Golden Pursuit is not correctly updating when doing multicrafting with Alchemy or Provisioning. We have a bug in for it - in the meantime, the suggested workaround for that one if choosing Alchemy or Provisioning is to craft the items one at a time. We realize that's a bit more time consuming, though. :(

I am confused. The tooltip says "Earn levels by gaining experience through combat, crafting, and much more."

I have gained levels on crafting on a level 3 character. This is not progressing the Pursuit for me.
