Characters you want to see return in the future

Have to say that I agree. Laurent/Stibbons and Rigurt are loathed by me because their "bit" is just so over the top that it is not amusing but rather more an annoyance when I see them in new zones.

Holgunn was great; in fact, I like a lot of characters from those starter zones. Would be interesting to see where life has taken Lokra (though that does rely on choosing one of two options in her quest). And I'd love to see an actual continuation of Darien's story/a Meridia chapter but, like you, I worry that the return of any of these characters will be OOC portrayals and not have any kind of true development so maybe it's better not.

Honestly, I think this is why I tend to dislike a lot of the 'fan favorites'. They are all so over the top to me. Darien and Jakarn are too much 'dashing 'flirtatious' rogues' and Laurent and Stibbons hits upon my pet peeve of 'ooh, lets show the woman being the stalker/abuser and make it funny' (had this happen in an anime that I liked and that was the one character I loathed. Sadly, they went the route I expected and the woman and the man she harassed and stalked are implied to be thinking about getting together), Rigurt is just too brash.

I think that is why I don't like the new altmer companion. They are just too 'I must be happy and ewww seriousness is bad' stereotype for me.

The adoptive son of Magister Therana is Tiras Tirethi.

Revus is the poor guy who accompanied him into that Ayleid ruin in Blackwood. And who had caused a small Dwemer machinery incident earlier on Vvardenfell. Rank-wise he's a Spellwright, and not a Telvanni by birth.

As a gay male victim of female sexual harassment and stalking I especially don't find this sort of thing amusing.

And the lengths which some went to to cover it up and try to convince me that I'm wrong to regard it as the unlawful abuse that it was are a whole other level of horrifying.

Good to see people happy to speak up about rightly not loving this stuff.

I don’t see it that way, though others have commented on it before. Stibbons and Lady Laurent are just role playing for our character from my point of view. She’s probably a fussy woman for sure but puts up a show to try to cover up the fact that, if you read between the lines, they both seem to care for each other. After all, it would probably be inappropriate for two individuals in different levels of society (for lack of a better phrase) to be involved with each other.

I also like Rigurt the Brash. They do sort of play off the fact that he is not as cultured as the people he deals with, I find that the most entertaining. He always does complete his diplomatic tasks, though.

I do agree that many returning characters do lose their appeal and sometimes, it seems, their minds as well. I guess different writers are handling them and don’t portray the same personalities that we saw earlier in the game.

Exactly that. It's a facade they are putting up because their relationship (a noblewoman and a commoner) might be seen as inappropriate.

Also, they might be enjoying that dynamic for their relationship.

I think he's meant to be a positive character. He might be really dumb, but he's friendly and always tries his best.

My issue with Stibbons and Laurent is I don't want to be involved with their 'roleplay', but they force me to become involved when I do their quests.

Basically I don't care what they do on their own time, but don't force me to participate if you want my help.

As for Rigurt, I just feel that character is just overdone and over the top. I don't really find him obnoxious, nor do I really care if he comes back for other apparences.

I guess for me personally it makes a difference whether they're really noblewoman and servant and just try to keep their relationship secret, or whether they roleplay that servantship thing.

I am not really talking about the noblewoman/servant thing, but rather the more abusive aspects, where Laurent will put Stibbons' life in danger, or berate him for not doing exactly what she was thinking, even though she didn't tell him and so on.

It is that aspect I dislike them for.

I'd like to see some of the characters from the companion quests return. Maybe if you've completed a companion's questline, you get a quest or two from the other characters in the questline. Does anyone really think Quistley or Aurelia wouldn't be in trouble again?

I want to see Ember, Isobel, Sharp, or Zerith-var in a future quest, ideally with characters from their questlines. To dive more into their past, their dreams, or friends they're connected to, or a new skill they can unlock as part of a new sidequest.

Failing that, just seeing the characters from those quests would be cool, like Ember's friends or the Twilight Cantors.

Personally, I'd love to see the characters from Sharp's questline return. They even allude to it being a possibility.


Though, if we're talking about characters in Companion questlines, what if characters from different Companion questlines got to meet? It'd also be cool to see a quest featuring different Companions themselves interacting with one another — I can totally imagine Zerith-var and Sharp-as-Night getting along. As someone else mentioned, Bastian and Sharp-as-Night would make a great duo, too.

At the very least, it'd be nice to hear some dialogue from each Companion meeting/reacting to a different Companion. It'd be the ultimate crossover!

Personally I miss Cadwell alot, but I can understand if they are unable to bring him back.

Another person I have been waiting for forever is Dringoth. I miss him so much! Absolutely loved the guy, and as far as I remember he went off to explore the wold and got lost in coldharbour, but after that, I can't remember where he ended up. I loved his character and have been wanting him to appear.

The Augur of the Obscure and the psijic mage (name escapes me atm) need to make a return again.

The Augur's humor was priceless.

Also, I want to hear from our not so good adversary Molag Bal again. He is one of my favorite daedric princes and I want to see more quests involving him, unless he's just forever restricted to the main story and it may never happen.


Aside from those, there's Heem-Jas, the cast of the DB and Thieves guild (would love to have more missons concerning my Dark Brothers and Sisters and fellow larcenists), Choixth (random encounters?), or even (dare I say it) Raz again.

Never in my life would i ever want ben diskin to voice the augur of the obscure ever again because he did a brilliant job making the character so annoying that i genuinely wanted to stop playing the psijic order quest.

I've been wondering what happened to the Ordinator in Gil-Var-Delle shortly ago. It's strange that I can still remember even minor characters from the base game... and less from the later chapters.

I agree about Jakarn; Darien less so but I do think his journals and stuff that you can find that show it's very much a bravado to hide a lot of what he's got going on internally that he doesn't understand. I like subtle storytelling that, as you get to know characters, you discover more that they might not allow a random passerby to be privy to. I think Darien has a lot of potential for that and they tried-ish but I'm not sure I trust him to be brought back with that in mind.

Why? They are supposed to lead their own life when not summoned by the player character. Why would there not be new developments and new things they could need or want a close friend to help them with? We have returning characters in the game all the time.

I for one have been wondering what happened to Mirri's family after the end of the questline. All it takes to elaborate on that would be a new dialogue popping up from Mirri about having received a letter from her mother, for example.

Yeah, several of the dialogues, I believe when you summon them, imply that they were off living their own life.

They might even be able to do it where you get something like a mail from a companion not summoned when there is a new quest available for them. Sort of like a letter (perhaps it can contain an actual letter that would accept the quest when you read it)

But, yeah, the extra quests could be just about anything, though some continuations from their previous quests would probably be the best. I can't really remember specifics now, but I am pretty sure there were a few of the quests that left me wondering 'what happened' but that was their last quest.
