Banner Bearer Player entering ring noise makes it unplayable

When a player runs into the inner circle of the Banner Bearer's AoE ring, it makes the same noise as when you first activate it. I ran this on a trial this evening and had to take it off. The noise is constant with 12 people and extremely annoying. Shame, I was enjoying it.

    Interestingly, we played nHoF last night and one of our members had the banner. After 5 minutes we had to stop whilst he took it off his bar, he said to me, I see what you mean, this is awful".

    I agree, this sound is very annoying. It's loud, it spams every second.

    I don't need to know when someone enters and exits the coverage area of ​​my banner, I can see it perfectly with my own eyes.
    This sound is not only loud, it constantly spams my ears.
    This absolutely interferes and distracts from completing the content.

    The last year or so I've noticed sound effects popping up here and there that are just really off compared to other sounds by being horribly loud/obnoxious in comparison. Tarnished nightmare proc, the sound when the tentacles take you in IA like when you first enter the door, etc.

    This goes without saying IMO but I know someone would probably bring this up, so: these specific noises are much louder than everything else, so turning volume effects down makes every other normal noise too low.

    There's a setting that plays a sound "on proc" for a lot of abilities that people don't turn off. For example when you get to 3 crux it plays if you have fatecarver slotted. Caused a lot of pain when Menders Bond came out.

    Haven't used banner but if you all had the add-on, as not many people have responded saying they have the issue, I assume it may not be everyone having the issue. Which usually means addon.

    Wish it was an addon related sound issue but unfortunately the FWOOOSH FWOOOSH FWOOOSH when you share a postal code with your groupmates is a 'feature'.

    I think everyone who has tried this has encountered this. At first it was cool. Like, the first half of the first dungeon I did when it came. Really powerful sound. Has some weight behind it. But by the second dungeon I was already sick of it. Exactly because the sound is so big so hearing this constantly gets old real fast. And that was only a 4 player group. Trials are hell.

    I LOVE the Tarnished Nightmare proc sound and the slurping IA entry effect !

    I hate the sound of brass bands, Morris Dancers and anything by Taylor Swift.

    Sadly it doesn't work with fiery banner. Quoting from the addon description:

    Note: Fiery Banner (Banner Bearer with a Fire Damage focus script) currently has a bug where it ignores all audio volume controls so the master volume has to be muted instead. I've filed a bug report about this so hopefully it'll be fixed soon.

    I admire their optimism even more than I appreciate their selfless contribution to this one's sanity.

    I have been having the same issue with my companion, it seems to hover on the edge of the banner range and that crazy loud and annoying sound goes off multiple times a minute all the damn time, fighting, running around, anything I do. Finally just dismissed the companion, which is too bad, it was one of the new ones and I was enjoying the quips.

    I'm glad the banner will be adjusted for everyone... but personally I solved the banner noise issue by turning Effects down to zero in the audio settings. There is a workaround for the banners, whereas there is no workaround for the Grim Focus issue.

    I'm sorry if this seems confrontational or hostile, that is not my intent. I just know a lot of us would appreciate the same attention for an issue we have been unhappy with for over a year now. Please, please, please give us the same help.

    Seriously, how hard is it to change the VFX to just show the glow when the ability has stacks. And I'm saying that as someone who actually likes the glow.

    That said, very glad that ZOS is going to look into mitigations for the banner audio, not everyone notices it at first, but once you do you can't unhear it and it's quite obnoxious.

    I agree, this is how it USED to work, and how i'd PREFER it to work. I like everything about how grim focus has been adjusted since the nightblade changes EXCEPT this ONE visual discrepancy. Fix the glow please!

    (and while we're at it... PLEASE return templar's Puncturing Strikes back to its original spear model... you can keep the current mechs and function, just give us our spear of light back... the other aedric spear abilities use the original model, so puncturing strikes just... doesn't look right anymore compared to the rest of the skill set. Furthermore the ability uses the NIGHTHOLLOW motif staff model for the spear... thematically, this is horrible, that a VAMPIRE staff is being used for an AEDRIC spear model... if you wanted to give us an aedric-themed spear, use the Imperial Champion Staff! It's properly spear/lance shaped and even has a representation of Akatosh's Red Diamond on it, now THAT'S aedric. Please get rid of the sad vampire shovel!)

    I find it most interesting that certain player complaints about sound/visual FX are acknowledged and adjusted immediately, while others are virtually ignored. It would be nice to know the reasoning why.

    While you're paying so much attention to fixing this, why not pay a little attention to the player outcry about the Grim Focus glow? That's an old problem, right? How about we fix things in the order they happen? Come on, help us out.
