Western coast of Hammerfell or Skyrim (either Whiterun or Winterhold). There are hints for all three locations.

We could go somewhere completely unexpected, like somewhere in Black Marsh.

I knew you would ask, therefore I have been searching for the old forum posts I made (there was a thread last June)...

Sorry for being a bit lazy, I don't have much time right now. Also, there were more hints from earlier chapters, but many someone else can add those (I don't remember anymore, or at least not at the moment).

Well, some, sort of, in Blackwood, but not the "deep Black Marsh, deeply ARGONIAN stuff" some people really want to see (which would be a total year maybe of content I wouldn't touch with a pole of ANY length....)

i believe Sanguine will be involved in some way.

2 recent quest characters mentioned Sanguine:
    - Plokun from the Gates of Oblivion event
    Any plans after that?
    • "I have a scheduled stop in Sanguine's realm of Revelry. He's always on the hunt for new entertainments and I am happy to provide.
The killing portion of the show should certainly satisfy their unique tastes."
    https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Plokun

    - Ysgild from the Disquiet Study delve in Apocrypha, though she says this after the zone story.
What's next for you and your brother?
    • "We were thinking of visiting another plane of Oblivion! Maybe the Realms of Boethia, or perhaps the Myriad Realms of Revelry? I hear those can be nice!"
    https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Ysgild

and Sanguine finally got a statue in Gold Road which could be how his character looks as well
    afayua0n3siy.png

no idea where will go in Tamriel in 2025, but i hope it's Central Elsweyr or anywhere in Black Marsh.
and Raz did mention Black Marsh in his Galen quest:
What are the Eyes of the Queen up to these days? (He will say any of these lines)
    • "Do not tell anyone, but we are planning a huge mission. The most essential ingredient? Kumquats from the Gold Coast. Shh. Tell no one."

    • "Raz believes we have an operation coming up somewhere in Black Marsh. It's been some time since this one got to make friends with an Argonian. Scales and fur make such a lovely compliment, don't you think?"

    • "Ahh kitten, Raz could tell you…but then he'd have to kill you. Do not worry, you wouldn't feel a thing! And he would be most respectful with your remains."

    • "To tell you the truth, Raz is not sure. He hasn't spoken with Cariel, Egranor, or Aroz'lai in some time. Perhaps it's time we had a get-together. We will charge it to the crown, of course."
    https://en.m.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Razum-dar

Dacio Caro from the Tel Dreloth quest in Telvanni Peninsula mentioned going to Winterhold, but that's only if you choose for her to travel. Winterhold would be fun, but i doubt it'll happen next year.
    • You're leaving the peninsula? Where are you headed?
"I'll start at the Library of Vivec, then head over to Winterhold…Sathile and I have the whole route planned.

What's wrong with getting a Chapter based in Black Marsh? I wouldn't mind it because there's a lot of space there that could be explored (which we haven't seen since Murkmire or Blackwood) and maybe it'd fit the bill for the "gloomy" atmosphere we seem to get on alternating years.

Maybe we'll get another Argonian Companion — one who doesn't have slavery as a centerpiece of their past — and who is more of a traditional Argonian with a Jel name. After all, we got Zerith-var two years after Ember, and he is more of a traditional Khajiit than Ember is; it's not too much of a stretch to imagine this playing out again. Also, maybe the Chapter feature would be somehow related to the region?

    Morrowind - Gloomy
    Summerset - Bright
    Elsweyr - Bright
    Greymoor - Gloomy
    Blackwood - Gloomy
    High Isle - Bright
    Necrom - Gloomy
    Gold Road - Bright

I'm not seeing a pattern here? I guess others maybe have different categorization for it. I guess since Blackwood it's the case. Although I'd mostly classify Blackwood as gloomy because of so much plot taking place in the Deadlands, but the main zone area is bright imo. Same issue with Necrom TBH. Apocropha is gloomy but I don't think Telvanni Penisula is. It feels less Ashen than Morrowind did. More bright.

Not sure. A lot of different NPC’s mention places now which was the hints before but hard to pinpoint now since Black Marsh was mentioned a few times, Hammerfell as well and also Winterhold and some Daedric realms so who knows.

I am hoping for Winterhold. I’d love to see the broken coast before it was broken. I’d hope that it went out real far and Winterhold was more in the middle of the Hold. I’d also enjoy a Black Marsh chapter. More Argonian lore but also maybe some lore on Lilmothiit.

I don't think we'll see anything else anytime soon. They can spend another 10 years on Tamriel alone, even more if they mix in a daedric realm every few years. If really nothing is left, maybe they'd move to Pyandonea for a year? But that's already far in the future.

I wouldn't say we will never at all see Akavir, but if so, that would be even later, if ESO still exists then (or if there are still regular new content releases then; I'm not sure, honestly, 10-15 years are a long time and the content reductions through the past years make me suspicious). Maybe they could use it to prolong ESO's life for another few years as it would certainly make people curious.
What's wrong with getting a Chapter based in Black Marsh?

It would be okay of course; and if other people enjoy it, fine with me, but I personally just dislike swamps.

I don't doubt at all that ZOS may do that after what they did with the Khajiit, but I personally truly would prefer to get companions of the remaining races first.

The only swamp in TES I've ever had any use for is in Hjaalmarch; I have no use for Argonians, and I really want to go to Hammerfell. As I said in my previous post above.... a Black Marsh/Argonian chapter would be probably a whole year I wouldn't play - and upon further thought, I'd likely unsub four accounts, and go back to Skyrim.

In other words, I have my likes and dislikes in TES just as others do.

with zero in game references to back it up, I suspect one of the following:

1- Elder Scrolls 6 releases and they go to hammerfell in ESO to celebrate the occasion and tie stories together

2- Due to performance issues, Cyrodiil gets shut down for PVP, and then released as 4 chapters: 1 chapter for each alliance zone, and then ooops no one pvp's in the sewers we are making it a PVE chapter now for the 4th.

3- Mora drags up another forgotten daedric prince and this time they have sweetrolls! we turn into goats and eat the sweetrolls while exploring a forgotten realm that will have zero impact on the timeline because *poof* forgotten.

I don't think they'll tie stories together, but I've already been wondering for a while whether they might release a chapter in Hammerfell right before TES6 releases as a kind of marketing strategy. I don't think that's impossible.

like we were told in December 2022 would happen.

there's no reason to believe q1 and q2 will change as zos hasnt said anything about it.

And if they do change it they will probably tell us in the 2024 retrospective letter.

Strategically, that would be a horrible decision. The reduction of new content releases already had a bad influence during the last few years and with no chapter release at all, it would get even worse. Some people only log in right after the summer release right now because they don't really see anything fun to do the rest of the time, and some people have abandoned ESO altogether because there's not much to do most of the time, so they just lost interest. The players who are still here regularly already show a lot of patience, but at some point, patience will have an end.
