Is there any In-game hints about the next chapter in gold road?

TheNuminous1
TheNuminous1
✭✭✭✭✭
All the previous chapters have had hints, sometimes in quest dialoge like saying "I'm going to X place after all this blah blah ect"

Or in notes or books in game.

Or by other things like how they have a valenwood pet in the necrom dungeon then we get the dawnwood.

Or how there was a cat pet then we got elsweyr

Has anyone that's played the new chapter noticed anything that would make them suspect the next zone?

Totally put of the dark I'm guessing winterhold

But you guys let me know I'm super curious.

There's a random encounter with two philosophers on their way to the Temple of Julianos in Skingrad. Agmund the Nord is from Winterhold (probably from the College), Isayas the Redguard says he is from Abibon-gora, which is at the Western coast of Hammerfell, bordering Alik'r. In TES2 it was home of the School of Julianos.

I'm quite sure we'll visit both places within the next few years. Maybe they'll even use the Hammerfell chapter as an advertisement for TES6 (something along the lines of "take a look at Hammerfell's past") and release it a few months before the singleplayer game.

There's a mount in the crown store that states its commonly used in the rugged Alik'r interior for its sure footing, I might be grasping at straws for that to be a hint or not, but Central and Southern Hammerfell is still wide open for a Chapter sized zone.

I would also love to see full glory Winterhold though.

No positives, just one big negative. The border with Southern Hammerfell is one long uninterrupted cliff, from one end of the map to other, even where it should be a river estuary. No gaps. No gates. We ain't never going there.

It's not like they couldn't change the map. The Systres were also added later.

There's another interesting random encounter, with a deserter. She says she's on her way to Anvil to get on board of a ship and that "maybe we'll meet again in the West". The only place left on the West side of Tamriel by now would be Hammerfell.

Well, I'm rather partial to "We sail for the horizon" - because it's about the Ra Gada, written by a survivor of Yokuda's drowning; I found it in the Scholarium this morning.

Sure would like a bit of time travel back to Yokuda before the swallowing.... [Yes, I'm aware that's a highly unlikely scenario *sigh*]

I have noticed two details at the typical end of main quest party:
    - Someone complaining about the food and talking about missing Redguard cuisine.
    - A goblin researcher planning to research Rieklings next.
Could be coincidences, of course, but it's interesting that it's again Hammerfell and Solstheim...

One detail in Beragon's dialogue also caught my eye: He mentioned to have already visited other continents than Tamriel.

Winterhold could be connected to Scribing upgrading to class skill grimoires through the hard work of the Mages Guild there. There could be a twelve-quest chain to unlock them that includes lots of gathering all over Tamriel to help the mages with their efforts. And the things that need to be gathered could be gated behind randomness.

I'd still love to see a Maomer expansion, you could take the quests with Captain Siravaen on Galen as a hint or at least testing the waters on that. Would be a good excuse to add a new race to the game as well

I would like to add that there is a group of Alik'r Swordmasters practicing at the Zeal of Zenithar event. Why is it interesting? Because it's the very only zone explicitly mentioned. And why would there be Alik'r Swordmasters at all in a festival?!

Plus, Zeal of Zenithar has hinted at previous expansions/DLCs before. I can't find evidence but I'm 100% sure it has.

    These?

They were already added in 2022.

    There are also these:

And I have another one for Hammerfell: For each region, there is a map furnishing antiquity. You can just buy the lead for it in taverns. The antiquity codex has 3 parts, so you have to excavate 3 of them to get all information (what I did, also works well with the current event quest, btw, as excavating something is one of the possible tasks). According to the codex, the West Weald map is a military map of Redguard origin.

I would like Winterhold but I think this might be a clue that we're going west of Anvil (Hammerfell)
I came across this NPC who says that she
plans to go west, sailing out of Anvil.

I wonder if she is heading to either
Hammerfell or some island in the west that's related to the Redguards.

That would be great because they are due for an update and they need some love (buff-wise), and I've made a few threads asking for the devs to buff them!

So here's a video of my encounter below:

    https://youtu.be/4wR4SGJvuLo?si=72ONdfq4vCXPsHfH

Edit: I would also like Hammerfell.

So, Agmund then makes it at least 3 Winterhold references since Necrom. One was the Dark Elf lady who says that she is going to go to Winterhold to maybe find a cure for her BF, if you chose to let her adventure. Second is the book during the Scribing quest that you can find and now this.

I do agree that Hammerfell might be held back to be used as an advertisement. It’d be smart… almost like a deep history. “Come explore Hammerfell during the Second Era, see its roots and then take your adventure to TES6 and see what it’s become.” Something like that.

I'm not sure why one Studio would intentionally time gate content for its game, specifically to advertise another Studio's game. Especially with TES:VI still being like, another 5 years off at least.

They might be different studios, but it's still the same company and they do coordinate things. ZOS also discusses TES lore with Bethesda beforehand; this year, for example, one big question was how they could portray Ithelia, and as far as I know they also discussed about what to do with the Dwemer.

Also, I think it's not 5 years until TES6, as it should be the next game on their release schedule. Starfield is released, and Fallout 5 is scheduled to release after TES6. TES6 is their current project in production. I think 2 to 3 years are more realistic.

Like Syldas said, different game studio but same company. Plus, it’d be smart to match up the terrain so that Hammerfell doesn’t look vastly different either. Some people are still super annoyed that Eastmarch is so off, not only in the wrong location but just way off, mountains where flat land is, a cities architecture that looks more like a 4th era version than the actual 4th era version and just so many more to list.

any mentions of other places don't guarantee that they are next.
any of these past hints could be next really

    in Galen Raz said
"Raz believes we have an operation coming up somewhere in Black Marsh. It's been some time since this one got to make friends with an Argonian. Scales and fur make such a lovely compliment, don't you think?"
but Black Marsh hasn't happened since 2022.

    Lady Laurent after High isle:
"I may stick around for the peace talks. Or I heard about some strange happenings in the Telvanni Peninsula. Or Hammerfell. I haven't been there in ages."
which is an older mention of someone going to Hammerfell.
Though Telvanni Peninsula was after High isle of course we also had Lyris saying she might go to Skingrad after Markarth and that was 4 years ago (and she isn't in Skingrad sadly).

i would love Winterhold to happen and it was mentioned by Dacia Curo btw. she is an imperial, her boyfriend's mother is the dark elf lady.
(You're leaving the peninsula? Where are you headed?)
"I'll start at the Library of Vivec, then head over to Winterhold…Sathile and I have the whole route planned.
And since she taught Nathyn how to project his image, it's like he's here with me! Sort of. He's still getting the hang of it."

oh and there's been mentions of Sanguine's realms by 2 characters since 2023.
    - Ysgild from Disquiet Study in Apocrypha
What's next for you and your brother?
"We were thinking of visiting another plane of Oblivion! Maybe the Realms of Boethia, or perhaps the Myriad Realms of Revelry? I hear those can be nice!"
(that's a mention of Boethia's realms too though only this one as far as i know)

    - Plokun from Gates of Oblivion event
"I have a scheduled stop in Sanguine's realm of Revelry. He's always on the hunt for new entertainments and I am happy to provide.
The killing portion of the show should certainly satisfy their unique tastes."

Far from being a hint, I think Feronia is just giving us the ZOS company line, "The less you know about my plans, the better off you'll be."

Given that context, the next thing she says, about heading west from Anvil, is as likely to be deliberate disinformation as not.
