Why in all these place can PC users (and all guides will tell you to) switch out gear/builds for mobs, trash, Boss setups. But, On consoles we aren't allowed to use the Armory Assistant in any of those places ?! Why ?! It's evidently NOT against TOS or the Rules to do so as PROG Groups and others do it daily. If you Turned off API access to dressing room How mad would the PC Players get?! Fair is Fair, Equality is all we need. Side note: If there's an API, Why can't the Console players use it via Web interface eg: DIM (Destiny Item Manager) and have access to all the toys too ?! At a Minimum, allow us to use the Armory in all places except PvP of course.

swapping out a couple of skills and gear isn't a big deal on PC even without addons. Can't speak for the controller interface, though.

Armory allows you to swap cp, skill morphs, stat assignments, mundus and ww/vamp, so more than addons can. Meanwhile the limits on armory slots mean the armory isn't useful for the kind of fight specific setup switching you're talking about.

Addons for PC don't do anything that a player on console can't. They just automate the process.

PC users can't use the armory either. Cuz the armory allows the player to swap morphs and attributes.

This on PC I say armory is mostly used going between PvP and PvE or Tank and dps/overland.
Dressing room and similar mods is for switching gear and skills on bars.
This you can do anyway, its just much faster and easier.
If your in an pug dungeon and you wiped, wait before attacking again as people might changing their setup.
Like fake healer adding heal to bar. Might do this before last boss, dps is decent but glass cannons, so healing is critical here.
Still mods is an pc only thing for ESO for some reasons.
Grinding just make you go in circles.
Asking ZoS for nerfs is as stupid as asking for close air support from the death star.

Sorry but they do. Try switching all your gear in 0,05 sec on console. You just can't do it. And we are talking about some instances where your time impacts your score.

Yes, it's impossible to switch the gear manually as fast as addons allow. But you are not competing against PC players, you are trying to beat the records of fellow console users who also have to do it manually. So, while inconvenient, it doses not create "an unfair advantage"

It does when you are talking about World Records, as World comprehends PC, Console, NA, Europe, etc., all together.

Hence why I noted that it automates the process.

No, "world" does not cross the PC-Console border. "World" can encompass NA vs. EU or XB vs. PS, but the people who care about these things make a distinction between PC and console.

Then that should be done separately since PCs and consoles are very different even without addons.
Edit: did not read the post above me when I was writing my reply. So, if for the world records PC and consoles are already separate, then there is indeed no unfair advantage.

What they encompass is simply their opinion, but not how a World Record works.

A World Record is a WORLD record. A World Cup is a World Cup, don't care if a team is stronger or weaker, if it has better infraestructure or worst. World Record means the TOP score, time, etc. in the planet.

Whoever tries to separate or make it look different is completelly wrong.

In any case, you can make "vAA PC Score Record", "vAA Console Score Record", "vAA PC NA Score Record", "vAA EU Score Record" and so, and each will be the BEST score record on each server and/or platform(s), but only the TOP Score of all those will be the World Record.

PC is a computer, Xbox, etc. are Consoles, NA (whole America in fact) and EU are Continents, the World is Planet Earth.

For the purpose, imagine Guinness accepts TESO, go to Guinness Records and try to put Xbox High Score Record as the World Record if there is in fact a higher score in PC. Good luck with that.

It's not working here like in your IRL examples, all score pushers making a platform distinction. Opinion of people outside of their group aren't much relevant, those are different environments still.

Agreed. Their reasons for not allowing us to use the Armory Assistant in places with leaderboards is flawed.
    • Anyone can still swap gear, skills and champion points manually because this game only prevents changing these things while in combat. It's definitely not like in Destiny 2 where some activities literally lock your loadout preventing you from changing anything.
    • Changing gear, skills and champion points manually with the Keyboard UI only takes a fraction of the time that it takes to change them with the Gamepad UI.
    • PC Players can also change gear, skills and champion points with just ONE button click thanks to addons, because for some odd reason the devs allow addons to work in leaderboard activities.

Everybody should be allowed assistance with changing their gear, skills and champion points in leaderboard activities, or else nobody should be allowed. Balance. Equality. Fairness.

Not really. Just do a "Elder Scrolls Online Word Record" search in YouTube and see how many groups (trials and dungeons) don't even mention what platform or server they are.

And again, that "It's not working here like..." statement, whatever they think they are making it work as doesn't matter.

They don't decide how a World Record works.

They can think Earth is flat, that doesn't make Earth flat.

We are on different platforms and not competing with each other unless we are talking about World records (and I'm not convinced that it's a problem either; I already stated my opinion on that matter). Yes, a lot of those addons would be great if added as QoL to the game. But we are not there yet (and not sure if we will ever be), but that is not the reason to advocate for not allowing them.

I’ve had to switch out some skills during a trial and it’s distracting while everyone else is waiting for you and talking on mic, it’s a wonder I didn’t ever screw it up.

I’m kind of glad we don’t have to worry as much about gear and skill changes since we don’t have the PC add-on, it would make things much more complicated.
