[REQUEST] Add time stamps for death recap

Please add time stamps to the skill recap screen that one can open after death. This will help to understand better how things come together when one dies in a burst.

Time stamps are rather useless if you are killed and all that time stamps will show is that during the same time frame you where hit with several skill hitting at once all with the same time stamp. You won't get much information out of that death recap screen.

Death recap do also put multihit into the same skill/ability so you have some abilities that will show 3 hit or more hits and then same skill again with 3 or more hits, so you don't really get any useful data out of analysing death recap.

Logging every skill and debuff/buff will also have negative impact on performance so you will trade more information with higher chance getting killed.

Don't forget that heals also have an impact if your HP will go to zero or even lower and with DoTs you will have a hard time to figure out if DoTs or a single skill did the final part to bring your HP down to zero or even further down which then register as you character to be dead. Defile as a debuff can also reduce healing and there a lot of other debuff or buffs that probably wont register in a death recap as part of why you died.

I would recommend to use an add on like Combat Metric if you are on PC or use any HUD GUI add on like Lui Extended or Bandit which both can show information on screen on what you are targeting and what is targeting you.

(Haven't used Bandit myself, but it does also have more feature that isn't related to HUD like Activity Finder for forming groups etc)

Better death recaps with timestamps are extremely useful in diagnosing deaths, and all this can be achieved with virtually zero performance cost.

How do I know this?

Because PC users already have the LGM addon which gives detailed timestamped recaps not only for you, but for everyone in your group, and this addon been a staple of endgame PvE on PC for over half a decade.

For example, it's useful to see the damage rate of DoTs (how often they tick and for how much), and also to see what could have saved the player (in this case, there were no burst heals from the healer)...

Eactly. Without time stamps the death recap is practically useless as it gives zero cues on how the damage stacked.
