Move Weekly Trials turn-in to beginning of every trial

I just completed an in-progress Halls of Fabrication run. My group was telling me that the last boss will trigger the quest and I'll get the weekly reward. However no one explained to me that the boss drops an item buried in your inventory that you have to dig up and activate. I was telling them I didn't get a quest so they kicked me. I activated the item and the turn in point is at the end of the trial. How is that useful? Now I just have to abandon the quest.

i had a similar issue in Dreadsail Reef a while ago when i forgot about the quest item until i was out of the trial, it was very frustrating.

Was that on Veteran? All I did on normal today was pick up the quest at the entrance then turn it in to the NPC that was standing there at the after the final boss. I didn't have to use any item.

Correct. I joined one that was in-progress. People said the last boss would give me the quest. They did not explain how this worked. I completed the trial and didn't get my weekly reward because these people kicked me without explaining how to get my weekly reward.

I didn't pick up the weekly trial quest. I only picked up the one inside the trial. Now I understand why I didn't have an item to use.

There's only one trial quest. It was in-progress. That's why it's an item. The game doesn't explain this.

If you had not picked up the quest, you would have gotten the item from boss. It basically just gives you the quest as a courtesy from final boss if you do not already have it, because 12-man groups often don't start and end with the same people.

It already is at the beginning? You can just walk into the trial by yourself and turn the quest in. I’ve done this with AA but I’m pretty sure it works with CR too, so it should just work for all of them.

i remember it working for Cloudrest, but not with Dreadsail Reef so not all of them?

Yeah. You are wrong. As I said in my post the turn-in for Halls of Fabrication is at the end of the trial. Making a conjecture based off of two other trials that you actually played isn't useful.

Also ran into a similar problem with Dreadsail Reef, but in my case I’d picked up the quest from the questgiver and then forgot to hand it in. Then had to complete the whole Trial again to turn it in. :/

No need to be rude, it was a logical line of thought, but alright.

I do not see why there is not a dungeon/trial "quest-turn-in" NPC at the undaunted camps.

many of the turn ins for trials are at the end of the trial, only a few trials do you go back to the entrance area to turn in such as AA and lucent citadel

I'm not sure I would say "many"; it's less than one-third of the trials.

    Key:
    • – The quest can be completed in the lobby of an uncompleted instance. This allows a player to complete the quest later if they forgot to turn it in initially.
    • – The quest can only be completed at final boss of a completed instance. Players who forgot to turn it in initially can complete the quest only by entering another completed instance.

    Trials:
    • Hel Ra Citadel:
    • Aetherian Archive:
    • Sanctum Ophidia:
    • Maw of Lorkhaj:
    • Halls of Fabrication:
    • Asylum Sanctorium:
    • Cloudrest:
    • Sunspire:
    • Kyne's Aegis:
    • Rockgrove:
    • Dreadsail Reef: (DSR is special in that if you leave the final boss area with the quest, the quest enters a bad state and can never be completed. This issue was reported when DSR was first released in 2022, and it's never been fixed.)
    • Sanity's Edge:
    • Lucent Citadel:

In any case, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any of this to be changed, esp. since there's been no movement on the DSR quest for over two years (since that's an egregious case of the quest being outright buggy).

good to know, ive never missed turning in a trial quest before lol

a lot of those cases the NPC to turn in IS at the end of the trial, but still good to know that its still accessible at the entrance should one forget
