I hope it's large-scale scenario PvP, akin to Alterac Valley in WoW or Outpost Rush in New World.

Arena 1v1, 2v2, and 3v3 would also be super awesome.

I just don't think the game is balanced in a way to make small scale arena fun right now. Cyrodiil is already swarming with groups just building to not die, rather than kill, imagine what this would look like.
    DAGON - ALTADOON - CHIM - GHARTOK
The Covenant is broken. The Enemy has won...

    Elo'dryel - Sorc - AR 50 - Hopesfire - EP EU

I don't agree - it'd basically be like Deathmatch BG but with less sucker punches.

The only thing they'd need to add is an escalating heal debuff to make sure matches end in a reasonable amount of time.

I hope that the new non-Cyrodiil PvP update in Q4 is a new mode of PvP, like maybe a large scale "last man standing" PvP mode. I don't expect a new Battlegrounds mode or map, or anything to do with the Imperial City, so ideally it wouldn't be another small scale PvP mode.

Here's hoping this new PvP feature is enough to last us a while! Maybe it'll even get continual updates over time?

ZERO disrespect to you - this is exactly what most people do not want.

When people say PvP they mean Cyrodiil. Period.

They haven't touched Cyrodiil in 7 years (anything of real value added I mean.. they have removed a ton of stuff to help "fix" the lag).

I understand now. I think the title of the thread is misleading, then — it should be, "A wish for the future of Cyrodiil", to emphasize that players want more for Cyrodiil specifically.

It's unfortunate that Cyrodiil isn't getting anything in Q4. I'm excited for new PvP content elsewhere, but I respect that the Cyrodiil PvP community wants to be acknowledged by ZOS.

Cyrodiil has an enormous amount of potential to be the best pvp in all gaming, but its being ignored by ESO for so many years that is bleeding players non stop. Very sad.

    Cyrodiil is boring.

The entire premise is dated, and has been played out over the course of a decade. PvP in ESO is in desperate need of new systems, and more variety.

To put it into perspective, let’s use an example…

Imagine your favorite meal to eat was dinner, and you had to choose where to eat. Would you choose the restaurant with a menu of only three things or the one with a complete menu? What if I told you the quality of the food was the same, and the prices were the same? Then what if I told you that you would have to convince your friends to come out to eat? Maybe the three options would allow those friends to all agree on something, but then again, what if they all have different choices? How can you convince your friends to come with you to a restaurant with a limited menu?

That’s the problem with PvP in ESO, it’s a “three” mode selection, where Imperial City is just a tighter Cyrodiil. It’s impossible to sell the game’s PvP to our friends, because it lacks the variety to get them through the door, and so our part of the community hemorrhages players.

Q4 could staunch the bleeding, but no matter what they do, there needs to be the realization that it’s just a start.

ZOS needs to keep at it, and they need to cultivate that type of audience if it’s going to have any presence in the future of the game.
