Try outcast inn north of skingrad, that's where most people are farming. Bunch of containers and reset door in same room.

@EF321 Really appreciate the advice. I'm in the same boat as the OP. Got only 3 plans so far.

Edit: Is "Outcast inn" is the name of this inn? I do not remember seeing it. Then again, I have not explored everything yet.

I just spent the last 5 hours straight farming Outcast Inn. I got one purple new blueprint and one green new furnishing plan. The green I already knew. It's not that I didn't get recipes, but they were all white or green and were under $100. I consider that a very low drop rate! If it's truly based on RNG, I must be the unluckiest person in the world! :D

Same experience. The Mirrorshard spots drop the crystal recipes pretty regularly, but no other furnishing recipes. I have farmed Outcast for literally hours on end, every day, since launch. I've gottne no recipes from this area at all. Base game recipes are not what we are all farming for. Can I get a couch? A table? A keg? Come ON.

The drops don't seem good, yeah. Something's up with the loot table compared to other chapters - I've been getting lots of base game blues and purples, and dozens of the blue base game style books. And no new green plans - I hope if ZoS reads this they check on the green plan drops. Those should not be rare.

I also wish they'd give us another source to get these plans. Give them a chance to drop from dailies (like the structural plans will eventually), or wb's or treasure chests and maps in the zone... something... farming urns is not gameplay and it's getting really old after all these years.

I too have gotten too many white plans and loads of base game recipes and plans, only ONE new plan...the blue beehive. Which I wanted more than almost anything so at least there's that. I think I will just sell some mats on the guild vendor and buy the new furn plans. I don't want to waste any more time farming the kitchen.

Second day of trying to get the new furnishing plans.

An hour of doing Outcast: nothing
    Doing several incursions: nothing
Visiting a variety of locales to search pretty much everything: nothing

I have half a bag full of base game plans, together with blue base game style books.

This is violating a basic principle of game play development: keep your customer playing by giving her small victories and accomplishments. Right now, we're getting: nothing.

    This is not encouraging...

Your not alone there, I think my rng must be cursed. After spending that past couple of days farming Outcast Inn all I've got is a load of white reciepes I already have and a couple of green ones. Oh well at least I'm stocking up on cabbages and apples

I've been farming Outcast Inn and tracking my drops.

I've gotten 26 purples, 8 of which were Gold Road plans.
I've gotten 60 blues, 11 of which were Gold Road plans.
I've gotten 128 greens, 2 of which were Gold Road plans.

    So that comes out to:
    Purple - 31% new
    Blue - 18% new
    Green - 1.6% new

Well... today's efforts were more or less equally disappointing.

About an hour of Outcast Inn: 0
About an hour of incursions: 0
    A new delve: 0
A random dresser in some abandoned building: 1 blue
    Rustwall Estate: 0

    Hm...

I got a ton. They drop very well.

This was posted June 7th; last week was going pretty well for me also. But after Friday, if felt like drops decreased significantly. No new purples for days.

It started to feel pointless, like I'd get the same amount if I just quest normally and check containers on the way. I wonder if it's intentional or am I imagining it? If people who are still getting good drops are just farming insane amounts – are you rotating through that kitchen for hours on end?

I did about an hour. Only got blue and green (and lots of white) base game plans. Stuff that I've already collected at least hundreds, if not thousands of times over the years.

Not a single new plan. Not green, not blue, not purple.

    Ok, I'm done.

Did another hour, on my main and my alts.

    Nothing.

I have this vision of a bunch of devs sitting around a screen, beer bottles in hand, and laughing their heads off at all these desperate customers, trying to get what should be in the game, but which was secretly removed, just so they could watch us run in circles...

Well... another notch in the 'it was a good idea to cancel my subscription' post...

Haha I am surprised at some players' tenacity. I love some of the new furniture so after I heard it was apparently a good farming location, I tried the inn for about 30 mins, then asssumed the drop rate was probably bugged as I only got stuff from vanilla and I think Morrowind, and went back to doing something else.

Remember anniversary and people with hundreds runs without loot? I'm pretty confident that something in rng system is broken. Maybe in some conditions some loot tables don't load/refresh fully, maybe some unnecessary cooldowns activates, maybe there is limit for population in zone. I don't know what it is, but something is wrong.

I've wondered if it's on purpose. Noticed something similar in IA: if I don't go for a few days or longer, I tend to get a new plan (meaning U41 structure, not U40). But trying to farm is futile.

Is it some kind of anti-farming measure? And if so, I wish they would just tell us. I'd happily go do something else in game.

Also IMO it's weird to lock up the furnishings so much, like they did with IA U41 too, and all the map-locked antiquities. A bit of RNG is good for the market. But we also want to use them. Housing is such a time-consuming thing... Like, I have to be careful not to enter my own house when I have other in-game goals because I get distracted and end up placing things for ages. I can't imagine why ZOS would rather have everyone hopelessly looping through a kitchen and busying the forums with questions about what's going wrong, instead of playing with the cool new items for hours.

I followed the suggestions in this thread, and got a purple Colovian blueprint 2 days ago, after just a few runs in the Inn. I am quite glad, because I sold it for more than 1M gold, money I really needed for furnishing. But besides that, I didn't get much, only a Colovian dresser (blue) yesterday.

This chapter has very few containers in quest locations or delves, it's really surprising, and it adds to the frustration of not having the opportunity to get drops while playing. I remember how long it took for me to complete some delves or quests in Summerset or even Elsweyr, because I was checking all those urns and bags!

So, probably the devs have silently nerfed the Inn, but same with the ink, the drop rates are wrong.

I got zero Gold Road furniture plan. The drop rate is even worse than for ink. :( And I really open containers like a madman.

The thing is and I really think they urgently need to revise their drop change algorithm for furniture blueprints is that with each new chapter and the new recipes the chances drop to obtain a certain furniture plan. It will get worse because with each new furniture plan the amount of "old" furniture plan increases and the chance of drop of one from the pile of the "old" ones.

I really think within a specific zone they really need to increase drop chances of the corresponding furniture plans and reduce the drop chances of other furniture plans in order to compensate for that effect.

What I observe is that now from time to time I get double drops (on my level 28 char). I guess this is an attempt to take this effect already in account. I fear however that in case of double drop there is another algorithm that limits the origin of the second plan. I have yet to get double drops with plans from entirely other dlcs. And I only got base game plans. Not even any dlc plan during a double drop.

So what I’m getting is that if the drops for the new furniture patterns are going to be exceedingly rare then I will stick to grinding gold in the usual manner (flipping your under-priced items) and buy the patterns from the guild houses without ever having purchased gold Road. I’m OK with that.

It's really quite simple: I love housing. It is pretty much *the* reason why I play(ed) ESO.

But with each chapter (aside from the chapters getting thinner and thinner in content) it has become more and more of a chore to both get the furnishing plans and the materials needed to then craft them.

Since this seems to be quite deliberate that it becomes harder and harder to do housing, my decision to leave must stand. I'd hoped that Gold Road would be able to change my mind, but I don't feel like being a cash cow for lazy programming.

I'll keep an eye on the forum and maybe, if things get better, I'll reconsider. Right now, not even the prospect of owning new homes is enough to keep me as a paying customer.

Keep having fun at the customer's expense, ZOS, if that is what you feel is the right thing to do. But don't expect the customer to reward you for this.

Agreeing with the above posts: loads of base game recipes found, including food/drink (of which, if there IS a cooldown do these count towards?), loads of blue style books. Number of new furnishing recipes found: ONE. Green. Possibly a couple of Crystals from the Incursions. But one ACTUAL furniture plan.

I don't have the time OR patience to keep going around the same few containers in the inn, but geez Louise... when I did try I got absolutely nothing new.

This is exactly how I'm feeling. I've been trying to furnish the new house and yet I can't because there's no doors that fit the doorways-- have to wait months for the structural furnishing plans to START dropping. I need many of the new furnishings for this house and even though most of them are green level, I haven't seen any around for sale (haven't tried using TTC to find some) and I haven't gotten them myself. I've gotten a few furnishings but just not the ones I need...

I am convinced that some accounts simply have better luck with certain things. Yeah, yeah, its all anecdotal, but for example I had really nice recipe drops in High Isle (even without really farming them!), but here even after a few hours of farming with different chars I am only getting base game recipes (including a few purples). Weird.

I haven’t got the new chapter yet (on console) but this has been my experience since Greymoor.

Most other players must also be seeing such rare drops too because a lot of Necrom and Apocrypha plans are still in the millions of gold range in guild traders.

You can’t afford to buy up all of those.

    I'm actually so confused lol...

I'm just doing the main quest; there are SO many locations with tons of urns, backpacks, trunks, dressers! It's like whoever was staging this was thinking about giving us lots of stuff to loot (thanks!!) but then... there's garbage in them 99% of the time. Did they want us to loot, or is this supposed to feel like a punishment?

Best place I’ve found to farm is Niryastare just north of the Sutch Wayshrine. Just past the entrance, around a corner, and down the stairs is a large room with easily 50 lootable urns, jewelry boxes and a couple dressers. Park a couple characters in there and log in and out of them. You will visit this place during the zone quest, but it is accessible at any time.

It also doesn't help that not all recipes drop from Faustina Curio's bundles. They are supposed to improve the availability of furnishing recipes, but it doesn't work when so many of them are not in the loot table. Particularly some Redguard recipes, Vampiric stuff etc.

I haven’t got anything of value from there. The barracks in Rustwall have more containers, I think I got a lead for a purple Ayleid plan there. Is it inaccessible after the quest?
