Please give us a way to visit non-primary houses [console]

Perhaps, when you click on a friend or guild-mate, the option to "visit primary residence" is still there, but under that is an option to "visit other residences." When that is chosen, it would populate with either a list of their residences, or a list of their residences you have permission to visit (whichever is easier on the database).

I really wish we could put links in our guild notes for our houses we'd like to let people visit, but when the text is placed there, it doesn't give guild mates the option to visit those houses.

Right now, once a month I send a link via e-mail for few select houses (like my parse house) to a few select people, but with the upcoming ... changes (trying to be polite ;) ) of the mail system, that becomes even more painful.

I see you're on PS so this won't help you but for those on PC there are addons.

I think you're posting in the wrong thread? This one is about adding the feature to visit other players' non-primary houses, and houses can already be configured with permissions to allow/deny visitors access to the house.

On pc there are text commands to visit non-primary houses, no add on needed. I would guess that the same function exists on console?

That's not what's being asked. They are asking for the ability to let other people visit multiple homes without needing to be online. It's already available to PC players via add-ons but it's not possible for console

Scripts apparently work on console too BUT op wanted a way to add links that are usable to guild notes etc and unfortunately they are not clickable in notes or in guild motd even on PC without using addons which ofc are not available on console. :(

There are? Is this using the string that looks like:
    |H1:housing:1:@allocthons|h|h

    how is the command used?

I'm going to piggyback on this thread. When I hit map then select the houses tab where I get to see a list of all the houses I would like each house to have a drop down menu. I could choose to go to my house or other players houses. So for instance if I click on Snugpod I could go to my Orcs humble abode or I could choose to see what other players have done. It could be just a random players house I get transferred to or a list of houses and I pick one. Then off I go.
Players would have to opt their houses in if they want to allow random visits.

I also like the idea for a dropdown for visit other residences when we click on a friend or guildmates name.
and then the parrot said, "must be the water mines green too."

    From an older thread:
You can visit people's houses, including non-primaries, without them being there and without add-ons. I think add-ons are the most user friendly and easiest, but you can use these scripts instead:

    To jump to someone's primary:
    /script JumpToHouse("@playerid")

To jump to someone's specific house:
    /script JumpToSpecificHouse("@playerid", houseid)

Their house has to be open to visitors, same as with the add-ons.

I'll give this a try tomorrow when I log in, and see if it works, and report back.

You can but you have to do it thru mailing them links, which is only available so long and about to be shorter. They don't work in notes.

You'll need to use the numerical house id when you run that command, they're listed here:

You actually can add links to the Guild MOTD as well as in the "about us" section. I have a total of 18 or so houses linked in both of those messages (with description next to each one) in my own personal guild to make it easier (faster) to get to those houses.

The system also lets you scroll through the list. And yes, this is available on console as I play on PS5.

The trick is to go to each house, get the link to appear in a mail, then copy and paste that link, adding it to your message section for each house. Yet this procedure can be a bit tricky on console, using a keyboard does help a little tho.

Having said all that, I would like what the OP is asking for as well!!

    Edit:
Pic taken on my old Ipad because it's a pain sending screenshots taken from console lol:

    25qevl2sut40.jpg

As you can see, I can press right on the D-Pad on the controller to cycle through the houses to pick which to travel to.

    Edit 2:

These may seem like silly houses lol, but I am a collector, I like to collect and display every bit of furniture. These also act as preview houses for me and guildmates, if they want to for example find the perfect bed for their house. They can simply go to my bedroom test house, see all the beds available and then decide what they want for their perfect house. So, sue me!!! :p

Damn. /script JumpTo* doesn't seem to work on PS5. Can anyone confirm other consoles?

At least those two commands don't work.

There are a few script commands that do work, (like /say /reloadui /stuck).

I know there is one that works, I forget which one tho, it basically includes the same code as the link we get to mail people.

Basically, you can stalk a guildmates and any random person's house by first of all getting the code. Go to any house you own, force the game to put that link into your mail. Copy and paste that to chat, just change your name to who's house you want to visit.

Obviously, it only works if the player owns the house and has it available for people to visit. I have been to my guildmates house by doing this, so I know it works.

    Oh, that works!
    The code is:
    |H1:housing:01:@name|h|h

(replace housing ID number and the name)

So if anyone on PS/NA types
    |H1:housing:13:@allochthons|h|h

into a chat window, the [allochthons's Snugpod] text will come up, and then you can scroll up and select it, and hit square like you would on any other linked house.

The playstation on-screen keyboard will let you copy/paste. Type what you want, hit the Options button, choose 'select all' hit X, select copy, hit Options, choose paste.

So you can put a house you travel to a lot (snugpod (13), sugarbowl suite (68)) in the buffer.

This is an ugly solution, but it does what I requested in the original post.

@vsrs_au, thanks for letting me know the house ID was in that UESP article. I knew the article, but hadn't made the connection.
@Paulytnz, thanks for the clarification on the MoTD. And no shame, I love people who have houses like you do. I'm not a huge housing connoisseur, but friends are, and I appreciate the creativity.
I also knew you could type the H1:housing string into a text window. I just hadn't made the connection that I could then use that link. /facepalm

And having said all that, ZoS, this is kludge at its worst. I still have the original request.

Please give consoles a way to visit other player's non-primary houses that doesn't require manipulating long text strings and the buffer on the console keyboard.

There is an addon for PC called PortToFriendsHouse that lets you do this. The only downside is it can't show you what houses they actually have, it's just a dropdown of every house in the game. Once you choose the player, if you don't know which houses they have, you have to just try them one by one till you can go to one. Of course if you know the house you can simply choose it.

Can consoles not use any addons at all? Then yeah they need to build in more functionality.
