They could have made the reward anything-- a title, an emote, a non-combat pet, etc.-- and no matter what they decided on, two things would be certain: (1) it could never "embody" something as intangible and diverse as 10 years of adventuring, and (2) some players would be happy with it while other players would not be. Although I personally don't use skins on my main characters, a lot of players do enjoy using skins, and as skins go this particular skin is kind of cool.
Skin is the least interesting cosmetics in my list. Represent hours and hours of quests, no. [snip]

It's a nice gesture and a good idea.
But it feels thematically disconnected.
What do I mean by that? Well, it doesn't relate to anything that had happened over these years. It doesn't evoke memories or nostalgia. It doesn't symbolize any of the important moments. It's just a skin.
To be fair, I think it's a cool-looking skin, and I like that ZOS is responding to players who say that there should be more things that are earnable in-game, so they deserve credit for that. But a special achievement like this calls for something with more... care.
It's the equivalent of giving someone a gift card for their birthday instead of a more personal gift.
What has made you have such low standards? So 1000 tel var stones would be fine too? They could have given us anything, so anything is good. Including the skin!

ZoS assumes I am broken or close to breaking, and the skin is supposed to represent this. Frankly, it's quite insulting even. The only thing that breaks you is the combat and balance decisions, but then they put you together again, when your dead class gets resurrected 2 years later and all is good for a while.
Rolling over mobs and story bosses for 10 years equal more a walk in the park. Hardly a prostration, for one of my gifts.
No, 1k tel var wouldn't have been fine. What I meant was they could have given us anything crown store-wise like polymorph/skin/mount/costume/etc.What has made you have such low standards? A proper reward would be a radiant apex level mount, but I forgot, you have to spend around 800$ for one, it would be overkill, right?
I didn't have to finish the entire game for any of the other stuff. The fact remains, the reward system of this game is broken and no amount of freebies and login crates will fix it. We simply can't earn that many cosmetics by playing, and what little there is looks like ass.But I also see this free gift in the light of everything else they have already given us throughout the 10th year anniversary: Free mount, free recall, free DLC's(thieves guild/clockwork city), free costumes, free skin(this one), two free houseguests, free house, etc. If you add up everything, it's not just a little. Maybe if you look at this achievement/skin separately, then yes I agree with you it's not much for a 10th year adventurer. But taking all 10th anniversary freebies combined, I am fine with anything(crown store-wise).
I never use skins so I won't use it. It would have been nice if they'd put a few items up into the crown store, as they have when they've tied free items to achievements recently. A good mix of items so that there would be something for everyone.
