I logged in after the patch today, and my fps is about half of what it was before while in Daggerfall (below 30), and in the wild, I get random fps drops that never happened before, is anyone having this issue as well?

I have an I7 2600K @ 3.40
GTX 780 Ti
8 gig RAM
the game is installed on a SSD

I sure hope not. It has been smooth as a seals arse so far.
This is my signature. There are many like it - but this one is mine!

don't know if this is an issue with ESO or anything else but i like to hope so, since my own high -end rig seems to be having fps drops too (pre-patch as well) in the more "crowdy" areas (drops to the 48 fps range at times) with the notion that this game should not be a challenge of any form for my rig to get under a constant 60 fps.
    rig: (stock value, not overclocked)

Seems to be related to the partition you are on. We have 2 pc's here, both equal. 1 has a smooth sail while the other is having low framerate and has reversed to low settings to be somewhat playable. The next day it was reversed.
We solved this by grouping up and change to the fastest partition by joining your friend.

Is there a way to manually change which "instance" or "shard" you are on?

Not that I know off. There aren't preset partitions. It just opens when a partition has reached its amount.

I think they should lower that amount and a lot of those low framerates will disappear. Seems simple enough for them. For us it's a headache.

I had logged in and out previously, and had restarted the whole client before, and after doing it again it did somewhat help (about 35-40 in daggerfall) but it didnt fix it completely. The only way to change instances is to log out, wait about 30 seconds, and log back in.

Edit: i forgot i had played with the settings, and i didnt have view distance or reflections maxed for this

Pre patch i can't recall ever lagging. Post patch however it seems my frame rate is lower as well and i get lag spikes every so often. I have a pretty good rig so I'm sure it's not me.

I also have dropped fps. I was getting 70-80 on mostly high settings at 1440p, but now I'm getting 30-40 fps.

i just did spindleclutch, and it was pretty much unplayable on high, i had to drop it to medium, and even then i was at 60 (V-sync) with spikes down to 25-30. there is no reason why i should not be able to handle this game on ultra high.

EDIT: This fps-drop seems to be caused by addons! Disable them to get your framerate back!

I can definitely confirm this issue. FPS has dropped 20%-50% on average and I'm getting massive FPS-drops when doing sudden movements. I never had any FPS related issues pre-patch. I have not changed any settings/drivers on my rig. It's pretty much unplayable for me now in close combat.

    PRE-Patch FPS: min: 28-30 max: 45-65
    POST-Patch: FPS: min 10-14 max: 30-40

    Fix it!

The ESOHead add-on was causing frame rate drop after update. It has been patched. You might want to disable all add-ons to rule those out.

i can confirm pre-patch no lag spikes. After patch lag spikes. Turned of Add-ons and lag spikes are gone completely. Looks like the patch made the add ons out of date they need some patching now ;D

I was also having a really low frame rate post patch. I am not using any addons.

    Intel i7-3630QM @2.4 GHz
    GTX 670 MX
    8 gigs of RAM
    Windows 7 x64

I am using a laptop with both a dedicated card and an onboard Intel 4000 HD card. Apparently (since the patch) Optimus wasn't switching to the dedicated card and was using the onboard. I fixed this by updating the Intel 4000 HD drivers and using the Nvidia control panel to select the 670 MX as the preferred graphics processor for ESO.

To do this, go to Manage 3D settings, click on the program settings tab, select ESO.exe as the program you'd like to customize, and then select 'High-performance NVIDIA processor' as the preferred graphics processor for the game.

Since a few of us have Nvidia cards, hopefully this fix will help

Don't know about lag spikes but I do know my performance went from 40-50fps to 12-15fps...
