Sleek Creek, Captain Margaux’s, and Twin Arches, all small enough to clutter up, so they look lived-in. I have a lot of larger ones, that are slowly filling, but still look bare.

favorite house for use is grand topal hideaway

favorite house for fast teleports: snugpod in grahtwood as its conveniently close to both wayshrine and where you turn in writs

runner up homes that i like but dont use: shalidors shrouded realm, the fair winds, erstwhile sanctuary
    plays PC/NA
    handle @Necrotech_Master
    active player since april 2014

    My current Top 3 Houses

    1. My custom-made Floating Wizard Tower in the sky at Coldharbour Surreal Estate.

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/640201/floating-wizard-tower

It was my most complex build by a country mile and I think it turned out really well. It is also my love letter to the franchise as a whole. It's designed to feel like the staging of a missing quest. It has a puzzle and little hidden references to other Elder Scrolls games.

    2. My custom-made Werewolf and Druid village in Hircine's realm. Pics in later comment.

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/633734/my-werewolf-and-druid-village

I wanted to give this village a small town feel to it, like some of the smaller ones in ESO. I think captured the vibe I was going for.

    3. My cherry blossom custom remodel at Ravenhurst. My latest build.

    https://forums.elderscrollsonline.com/en/discussion/657837/cherry-blossoms-at-raven-hurst-‍#latest

I've been wanting to one with a more Japanese/Asian feel for a long while now because I have always loved the aesthetic. And I have been inspired by so many other good ones with this theme. But it felt so daunting to make my own. I do finally have the skill at housing though to make something I'm pleased with and it makes me happy. I am so happy that my guild's contest finally gave me the push I needed to make this house! It was a garden themed contest (I won 2nd place).

    Honorable mention

    My Christmas/New Life house

Old build. But one I enjoy setting as my primary every year to get into the festive mood!

Gardner House, Cyrodilic Jungle House, and Ravenhurst are among my favourites, but I actually use the inn rooms at Leyawiin and Vulkhel Guard most for ease of travel and proximity to crafting/writs/wayshrine and mount training/wayshrine respectively.

Since I only use them for free porting and storage:
    • sugar-bowl suite for proximity to wayshrine
    • grand psijiic villa for dumping furnishings
    • ravenhurst for general purpose ( storage chests, proximity to wayshrine, mini-furnishing dump).

the other freebie 1-rooms in base game non-island start zones for free porting.

I surprisingly don't have one. There always seems to be a little design problem I find in them or I simply don't like their overall layout/theme. My current main house (Daggerfall Overlook) is pretty cool though thanks to the amount of time I put into decorating it for my DC based Khajiit sorcerer.
Every single house that we're actually able to furnish. So scratch all the notable homes. Small and medium sizes player houses are what we need more of.
Funny, because I find decorating decorating small-medium sized homes impossible. There's not enough room to show off a ton of achievement furnishings, antiquities, houseguests+assistants.

Linchal Manor, Varlaisvea, Willow Pond Haven, and the Princely Dawnlight Palace are my favorites which is funny because I don't really like big houses specifically, I just like all of the aesthetics and vibes of each of these. I only even own Willow Pond out of all of these, but still love them and hopefully can get them all one day.

I can't decorate for the life of me. I simply do not have the patience (and I also find the housing tools somewhat lacking, but that's beside the point).

I'm the same. Can't decorate to save my life. I'm in awe of some of the decorated houses I see. But for some reason, I still collect houses.

I like the Cyrodilic Jungle House because it's a great price for what you get and very conveniently located.

Snugpod is great for quick access to where I turn in master writs.

My most visited house is the inn room in Leyawiin because I do my daily writs there and always sell stuff at Sally Forth Goods (Scritches needs to be pet-able!!!!). So I port there at the end of my first daily game session to do my writs and log out.

Many houses are conveniently located near an outlaw refuge. Always great when I have a bounty I want to clear and I don't want to use a counterfeit pardon.

As you can see, furnishing a house isn't the first thing I think of when considering whether to buy. ;)

Antiquarian's Gallery - which i have had so much fun decorating twice.

Princely Dawnlight - which is just magnificent, but feels quite austere.

Sweetwater Cascades - this one truly feels like a home to me. And I made a home cinema in it.

For me Sleek Creek: conveniently located near a city with all the basic services and I decorated it like a skooma den.

I did pretty much the same thing. I was doing one house for each character and that one was for my Khajiit. He was/is a bit racist thinking anything not made by a Khajiit as inferior so other than common items everything is Khajitti.

My favorite is far and away the Grand Psijic Villa, between the grand Alinor-themed architecture, the sparkling ocean, the patches of gardens and ponds, and that gorgeous Artaeum sky.

Other than that, I tend to buy houses that I can build entire structures in. I like building up to the max height ceiling, making "towers" as I call them.

I made a ziggurat in Moon-Sugar Meadow for instance. That's probably the "tower" that has come out the nicest so far.

Some of my favorite features in a house are a courtyard, so I have a nice place to decorate with vegetation, and a short distance to a wayshrine. I also like having a courtyard so you don’t just step directly into the house but have a nice transition.

Picking my favorite house would be hard, as I have a few I am pleased with how they turned out.

Thieves Oasis, Stone Eagle Aerie, or Potentate’s Retreat are probably my favorites.

I would include Earthtear Cavern for the natural beauty, but I don’t feel like I have decorated it to its potential, though. It was my first notable house so it is more of an achievement house.

Serenity Falls is a close second only because I haven’t finished decorating the outside yet. Ebonheart Chateau turned out better than I expected, but it has an awkward floorplan for the upstairs with the curved walls that you can’t place any paintings or banners. I did create some great planters in it so it probably should be rated higher than Serenity Falls then.

Twin Arches was my first house I purchased. It has the best value of the smaller gold-purchased houses.

Hands down, the best (imho) house to own in all of Tamriel, is the Sugarbowl Suite. =D

When you port/recall to it, you can see the Wayshrine just steps away from you. I port to this house sometimes dozens of times a day instead of hoofin it over land to get to a wayshrine. Saves a ton of time, and a lot of gold.

I guess I probably should show some love to it though. Not a stitch of furnishings except the candleabra it came with.

The Free house in Vulkel guard works just as good. step outside and you are at the wayshrine.

I don't think 'close wayshrine' was supposed to be part of " Best House " since it does not describe the house itself. Just a random location.

    Thanks!

A little over 500 I believe. There were about 100 slots already used between plants and the shrines, so it was at about 600 total after completing the structure, meaning not much room to actually furnish it unless I want to start stripping out surrounding plants and the shrines (which I might do, just don't have anywhere else I want to plonk the shrines down at the moment).

I love Pariah's Pinnacle for its position hidden high in the harsh mountaintops of Wrothgar. It evokes a feeling of solitude that perfectly suits my High Elf Templar's nature.

All of the spring, summer, and autumn foliage within exists because I liked the idea that the aura of his power was effecting his surroundings, causing non-native life to grow even in the cold reaches of Wrothgar. I tried to reflect the four seasons in the build.

He's also the character I got Emperor on, so the main hall was the perfect place to showcase his throne, within view of the small training area/arena where I duel with friends.

I've built multiple levels within the entire structure on stone platforms. I've been refining the build over the last 3 years- it still isn't complete yet, but these are the parts that are. Eventually I'll be building a library and hotsprings.

    1. Alinor Crest Townhouse
Easily the best townhouse. The best part is the combination of marble and that dark wood panelling. Is it teak? And the Alinor style is just hands down the most beautiful furnishing style available.
    2. Water's Edge
Close second. Its warm wood makes for a warm atmosphere. And the Leyawiin style is my second favourite furnishing style.
    3. Mathiisen Manor
I created a library for my arcanist in the entire upstairs area.
Lots of flowers in planters make it ridiculously beautiful.
