yeah. can't eat bread, should eat cake instead.

I almost hope all that ask for comprehension of ZOS policy don't manage to grab their desired item.

That sounds like “you can’t save all the people, so why try to save any?”

The point is it makes it far, far, far less punishing. It changes buying tickets from mandatory to “optional in case of emergency”, and (at 18 tickets) gives people a two day grace period for the horse.

Let’s say the player misses five days (three days more than the above example).

Current system: 45 total tickets - 30 tickets to complete the horse.

    Vs.

18 ticket horse: 45 tickets total - 9 tickets to complete the horse.

    That’s a 21 event ticket swing. That’s huge.

Terrible analogy, because this is a video game and this isn't that important.

You're not supposed to be able to buy everything, and as soon as they said you will want to spend tickets on it, I hoarded tickets from the last event.

Yall are taking this way too seriously. They warned us. Those going on vacation and the like wouldn't have made it anyway.

What you should be comparing it to are indrik costs.

When indriks first came out, they staggered them enough and offered enough tickets that you would have been able to get everything by playing. None of the parts dropped in reward boxes so it was ticket only collectibles, similar to the personality. You needed the same amount of tickets regardless of whether you played or not. No extra ticket purchases were necessary if you played the event.

Yes, now it’s more complicated because they are a returning item so those who didn’t get them during have to budget and pick and choose.

But with the horse, they’re double dipping. Fragments drop in boxes but there are not enough days in the event to collect enough fragments. And they are bind-on-pickup so no trading. For each day you miss, you miss 1 confetti piece and 3 tickets, leaving you needing even more tickets.

This is also the same event where ZoS added achievements that can only be purchased with event tickets.

It would be even more of an improvement when you consider you also can't hold more than 12 tickets at a time, which means people who will need to spend extra tickets due to missing days will need to know that in advance because you can't save them up through the event and choose what to spend them on once you know how many you have and what you're missing.

Also the indriks didn't require you to play every day of an event to get them. I missed a lot of days in a lot of events but I managed to get all the indrik mounts without having to buy tickets.

It helped that I always tried to finish an event with 10-12 tickets, just in case I wasn't able to play much during the next event, but players were able to do that because there were more tickets available from each event than required to get the rewards.

Yes. Let's compare this to Indriks.

The Indriks didn't require playing literally every day of the event.

Did not punish you twice over for missing a day

And were available multiple times that year.

Honestly, you can't do things the way everyone is happy.
For a reward that requires you to basically log in almost every day, you can't expect to receive the reward if you are not doing so. However, there even *is* the option to buy the tickets with crowns (which I don't like or would do - but it *is* an option for those who are not able to play most of the days).

Sorry but that is a bit like telling your kids in christmas season preparation:

if you help baking these cookies during each day of preparation you get an extra reward for free.

To your kid that is sick and cannot help you say: I am soooo sorry, you cannot get the extra reward for free because you missed out baking the cookies each day. But you can pay for each missed day with your pocket money.

Don't expect your sick kid to be grateful or happy.

This is nothing like that. This is more like your boss saying "We are going to supply everyone with some parts of a useful item just for showing up to work each day. Employees that go the extra mile and purchase some of these parts themselves will receive a bonus."

i feel like the mount should have been 15 confetti, this would give more flex room for people who might have to miss the event, and would not require buying any extra with tickets

the whole "needing to spend tickets to finish an item" is just awful in general (as well as achievements that require spending tickets, of which both the mount and cake slices require)

I suspect that ZOS wanted to encourage participation throughout the event but intended you to be able to miss a few days.

They give more tickets than is needed to get everything new, after all.

I think something that was probably overlooked is that missing a piece of confetti because you didn't login actually penalizes you twice.

Because you miss the confetti and tickets on day 1, so you have to use the tickets from day 2 to buy them. This means neither day 1's tickets nor day 2's tickets can be used on other things like the cake slices. It's not the most intuitive thing. I actually didn't initially realize there was an effective double penalty either until it was pointed out.

Edit to add quote that shows how many tickets are needed for everything.
If my maths is right, you need to spend 45 tickets to get all new things from the impressio, assuming you get a gold box with an unknown style page and confetti each day of the event.
2x personality parts (10 each), 7x cake slices (1 each), 1x new cake (3, or was it 2?), 5x confetti (3 each). I think it was 60 ticket we can earn all up.

    @Monte_Cristo

    Ty for doing the math!

I like the mount so I am deffo trying to get it, but if I end up not having enough tickets, I will just hope I can complete it later.

Since it is the anniversary year, I kind of assume that the confetti packs will be on the vendor for future events too. There is even an achievement for it, and it would be kind of weird if it was a one and done deal, as they have never done that with achievements as far as I know. I think that in the worst case, you can probably complete the mount next year.

Of course this is all speculation on my part and I might end up being super wrong, but I think the above is far more likely than all the usual panic scenarios on how they are "forcing" people to buy crowns and what not.

And recently they seem to be (slowly) going towards the right track with more earnable stuff in game, so immediately deleting a mount, one of the more popular reward types, right after introducing it would not make too much sense in that regard.

I would've thought the horse would've been easier to obtain to, you know, celebrate the anniversary. For me, it's not even a celebration anymore because I feel like my tickets are being micromanaged. Events are becoming to over-incentivized to the point where I don't even want to do them. I have to do all this planning and provisioning of my tickets, that at this point, I'm just not off-put by the whole thing.

i agree that this event is excessively tight on tickets, because a minimium of 22/60 of the tickets have to be allotted if you wanted to get the achievements

i think this type of thing is actually contributes more to event fatigue than the actual tight event schedule

I like how they talk about how there are going to be gobs of tickets available during the event, all while knowing full well that people are going to have to use a large portion of them to be able to get the mount. Why even bother at that point? You can either end up with not enough fragments sitting in your fragments inventory, or you can pony up a boatload of tickets to get the horse, and then fall behind or not catch up on other limited time goodies. It's crazy.

i remember that event too, there was 2 collectibles, both poor drop rate

one was the voriplasm pet and the other was the memento, basically had to prioritize one or the other unless you were willing to pay high prices for the other (i dont think there were tickets back then either)

60 tickets for this event sounds like a lot, but when all is said and done thats barely enough to complete all items for the event

7 (cake slices) + 15 (minimum, 3 per fragment 5 fragment for the mount) + 20 (2 personality fragment for morphable) + 15 (if you needed the base fragments for the morphable pet)

I've been saying it for a long time. ZOS slowly but steadily added more and more to the event vendor without adjusting the available tickets. If you haven't kept up from day 1 then you will never get everything unless you head over the Crown Store and buy tickets. Events are no longer about fun, and 100% about monetization, and it's a bad look. You would think that you could take advantage of the 60 tickets available during this event to catch up, but that isn't even remotely feasible. I feel bad for people who are behind.

yeah, theres still a few old things im missing for example, the non-combat indriks mostly, all of those are also way expensive too, 10 tickets each, but with how tight tickets are for current event stuff its hard to save any for those to round out the collection

theres no way to have it all without buying tickets, really have to prioritize what you want

Yes, mixed it up. I meant April

I am not overly happy to have to buy something that is free for everybody else without this time issue :(

I got one character. I have 5 confetti's. I'm not filling out 18 characters just to try and get confetti. I'll see where I am the day before it closes and make any decisions then. If I get, fine. If I don't, I'm still happy with my current mount.

It would have been nice if they were Not bound.

    no big deal though.

Even if they did drop it down to sway, 18 or 20, there'd still be people that couldn't get it and thus be unhappy.

    You. Can't. Please. Everyone.

Oh be for [snip] real. Of course people would be much happier with 18 fragments. People could miss a day or two and still get them all, and if they knocked the confetti down to say 1 event ticket cost, everyone would find that fair. Yes some people might still miss.some, but it would be much, much fairer.

Oh, and saying "you can't please everyone" is such a cop out. Sure, maybe there's going to be an outlier or two no matter what-- but you sure can please the 99%.
