Character Bound style pages from Anniversary Event

I am seeing some complaints about this, but I am not sure if this is intended or a bug. Does anyone know of anywhere the devs have commented on it?

For which style? I think earthbone ayleid is supposed to be not bound, but the weapon pages are character bound.

The drop rate is assuringly low for the limited styles besides Trueflame. I swear the PTS drop rates were a bit more reasonable than they are now. Now it feels like you have to kill 500 plus WB, whereas before, it only took 50 or so kills.

The style pages you get from Vvardenfell WB and Summerset geysers are the ones I was referring to. I was assuming I could only use it on the character that found it, but I’m being told it is account wide.

I was confused because I didn’t think other style pages said “Character Bound” but maybe I just never noticed.

The replica stylepages are:

- characterbound (its said in the tooltip) and therefore can't be banked
- once consumed usable by all chars, accountwide

Don't know tho:

- if they are curated (mostly looking at those 2 from vvardenfell wb's here)
- if they can drop again after either you already consumed it before or have one in your inventory

Probably they are curated and once droped can't drop anymore. But just guessing here.

So I looked at another style page that I had in inventory from the event, one of the older ones, and it just said “Style Page” at the top.

I believe the “Character Bound” ones should be renamed because it is misleading. If the intent is to not be able to trade or sell them, then these should be “Account Bound”.

Character Bound Crown finding lessons can only be used by the character, for instance.

"Character Bound" is probably an unfortunate choice of wording in the UI. Internally, it's known as "backpack-bound", which are bound items that can't be banked.

The binding only applies to the page, not to the collectible that the page unlocks when used.

As for why pages are backpack-bound rather than regular bound, I assume that's because since collectibles are account-wide, there's no point in transferring them to another character, so there's no point in allowing them to be banked.

For the record, ALL bound style pages in the game are backpack-bound. Pages you buy with tickets from the Impresario? Backpack-bound. Battleground pages from the mail? Also backpack-bound. So this isn't new, and it's been the way bound style pages have always worked for many years.

I know that style pages have been account wide historically, but the wording of character bound implies that you would need to get a style page for each character that you would like to use the style.

You also never know when things might change, like the achievement that requires you to buy cake slices with tickets this time. Any new changes like the style pages has made me extremely wary.

Someone in Vvardenfell zone chat said they'd gotten a page twice. It may have been Sunna'rah.

I did a bit of fishing last night-- three holes, in three different zones, while there to do other things, and stopping once the hole dried up. The Trueflame page dropped at the third hole.

I killed a few WBs in Vvardenfell, but most of the time it was a joke because there were so many players and the boss melted so fast that I didn't get looting privileges. I enjoy running around Vvardenfell and Northern Elsweyr soloing all of the WBs from time to time, so I don't mind doing that in Vvardenfell during the event, but I won't grind and I'm not going to stick around if a site is being camped by a crowd of players.

Same with dolmens and geysers-- I'll do a few from time to time, but there's no way I'm going to be grinding them. There are just too many other things in the game that I'd rather be doing than grinding for hour after hour.

I'm guessing they left it in their inventory which is why it dropped twice. Should probably eat those style pages as soon as you get them.

Nah they had used it already and even had the weapon transmogged. Zos just didn't care about curating these drops
