As the title says..

I've been in Vvardenfall for 10hrs now farming World Bosses for Sanna' rah and Barbas helm without any luck.

Is this really acceptable?

Wasting my life away for an in-game cosmetic?

I used to chase these things. It was actually I think Bastion Nymic and the severe lack of rewards coupled with the tiny chance of drops that made me wake up.

They try to force me to repeat the same boring "content" over and over for hours now and I just log out and play something I enjoy. It might look good for their "engagement" numbers on a spreadsheet somewhere, but it doesn't endear players to the game.

These style pages could easily have been added in a more engaging way, like "complete these challenges and get a style page at the end", where everyone who wanted to could actually get them, in a fun way where players could even work together to achieve a goal. Instead we got spam 1000000 dolmens/geysers/wb's with so many other players present that many can't even get an event box, and pray you're the lucky one today!

TL;DR: Don't let them dangle some new shiny in front of you to waste your time. Do what you actually enjoy doing.

Imo all these pages should be at least tradable. So those who are lucky/don't mind grinding can get some money and those who don't wanna grind/are unlucky can just spend some gold.

Those world bosses respawn every 5 minutes. Just put a timer on and watch Netflix/YouTube or do something else productive while you wait, that's what I've been doing 😸

ZOS does not know how to make holiday events fun. They insist on adding their multi-layer RNG to EVERYTHING and making it a grind. This is the 10th anniversary; they should be GIVING stuff away. They should take a lesson from Assassin's Creed Valhalla. That game knew how to throw an event. You could earn and bank as many tickets as you wanted (in case you did not want to participate in a future event, but wanted to buy the goodies). You could earn unlimited tickets each day. The events were good and long so you had a chance to buy everything. There was no RNG involved.

Yep, RNG this game is atrocious, and that's a generous description. That and the lack of in game rewards leaves a bad taste in a lot of players mouths about ESO. It wouldn't kill ZOS to give us better RNG and more in game rewards. And doing so would certainly help player retention and attract new players as well.

I love the RNG. Second day. 120'ish boxes. 2 gold style pages. 4 motif pages. 1 roe.

As my luck is so bad, I can now happily log in, eat cake, do writs on 2 characters, and ignore everything else about this event.

Still don't care for mini molag or the personality. The horse mount looks awesome, but it looks like you're carrying a plate of cake while riding it? Blah, not interested. So tickets can go to Indriks, so even tickets don't interest me.

For me, this is another awesome "take it or leave it" event.

Must absolutely suck for those that suffer FOMO though.

I am "just" around 70 geysers with no luck and it's the first I decided to farm.
Hope I get it in the first hundred attempts at this point, but I wouldn't bet on it...

There’s absolutely no need to add items intended for celebration which zos know people will want, add a hard finish date and lock them behind very rare rng. Spending the event camping boring content is really awful.

What better way to celebrate 10 years under RNGeesus's yoke than to add limited edition items with abysmally low drop rates? I had planned to spend a longer time playing yesterday and enjoying the event, but unsuccessfully farming bosses, geysers and dolmens left me exhausted and wishing to switch to a game beyond RNGeesus's grasp.

6 hours for me with Geysers so far today without luck. I'm so sick of them.

Edited to add: Took a break for about an hour, came back, and now 4 and hours later still no staff. 💀
10 hours total for just this staff style page and NOTHIN' yet. It's depressing.

I got lucky on the geysers - think I was there for under an hour. Everything else has been quite some hours, and haven't dropped them all yet. I am so sick of dolmens that I never want to see another one.

Going for these style pages feels like a recipe to make yourself never want to engage with certain parts of the game again.

The RNG during this event is especially atrocious. I 100000% agree with the person who suggested some quest with a page at the end as a reward.

Currently, this doesn't feel like a celebration, it just feels like work. Big pass.

Not a big fan of RNG myself in general. I am more of a "do this time consuming stuff a thousand times but be sure to get a guaranteed reward in the end"-guy.

But in case of those special bonus event rewards it had to come down to RNG in the end, I guess. And although I had very bad luck so far myself I don't mind it in this case.

1. There is plenty of other stuff to do during the event. And those rewards are awesome. Those few replica stylepages are just a bonus. Moreover its just some cosmetics. If you don't want to put in some time / effort to farm them... just don't do it and you still will be alright.

2. Speaking about rewards and stuff. This surely depends on your point of view. But to me it IS rewarding getting a rare drop after putting in some time and effort. Its much more rewarding in the end than just getting it gifted easily.

3. The event will last for 20 (!) days. Thats plenty of time. Don't freak out on the first day(s).

Personally I do like the concept of having some special / unique items which are not that easy to get. Its rewarding, its satisfying.

Although... making the replica stylepages tradable could probably have been a good idea to solve the issue of frustration of some people.

To me it definitely seems like the crappiest of the 4 to farm. Maybe the Summerset Ulvor staff is next, but I’ll take a geyser over a world boss farm any day.

Today I was able to get a sample of people's experiences farming these pages. Some people spent 8, 14 and even 17 hours trying to get them. Others talked about getting a drop after 3 hours as if that weren't a lot. For my part, I got the Staff of Worms after 34 dolmens and someone in zone called me lucky. I didn't feel lucky. I expected to feel some joy, similarly to when I stumble upon nirncrux or a nice lead, but no: I felt awful. Dolmen runs are at least faster; I dread how it's going to be with the geysers and Vvardenfell WBs.

Before someone says "no one is forcing us to farm the pages", I'd like to point out if the devs add something cool to the game, people will want it. When I saw what the Staff of Worms looked like, I just had to have it. Unfortunately, now it'll always be the weapon that took 34 dolmens, an activity I hate, to drop. And I was apparently lucky.

Yeah, you're lucky; I don't have any drops after 18-plus hours besides getting Trueflame yesterday. I might not even get it after a few weeks. Who knows?
