Nord Chapter, who wants what?

Sooner or later, we will have to return to Skyrim in a new Chapter. When ? I don't know.
Fans of TES V mainly will be enthusiastic about this return to the Nord lands.

For Colovia it was quite simple. Skingrad was unanimously expected.
For Skyrim, I imagine that there are three clans among Nords enjoyers : Whiterun, Winterhold, Solstheim.

I deliberately cite these three places because they are possible regional capitals/hubs of a Skyrim Chapter.

My question is therefore to know through this investigation, which of these three hubs is most particularly expected.



Although this is just my personal thought, I imagine Skyrim can serve as two Chapters + another Chapter exclusive to Solstheim.

Or, just one Chapter for Skyrim on the continent.
Whiterun is a large city and can serve as a regional hub/capital.
But as we all know, a region can only contain one big city which serves as the capital, the others cities are small in size. Otherwise large but serving as a public dungeon (Sunhold, Orcrest, Zenithar's Abbey as a great city like, and maybe Sutch this year if appear).
And knowing the wait around Winterhold, I can't see players accepting that the town is small or sacrificed to a public dungeon.

Whiterun or Solstheim, either of the two would be great. Solstheim may be problematic though, as in ESO's timeframe there's nothing on Solstheim.
I'm not really interested in Winterhold, as it's more of the usual magic stuff...

we'll likely get all of Tamriel eventually.
but i hope we'll get Winterhold and the Pale first, i really wanna see Dawnstar in ESO.

in TES V we can go to Solstheim via Dawnstar so i can see it being available in that potential chapter too.

though any Skyrim chapter would very likely have more Blackreach too so im not sure if that would all fit in a Winterhold chapter.

Skyrim 15th year anniversary is in 2026.

ZOS released the chapters Morrowind & Blackwood for the 15th year anniversary for Morrowind and Oblivion

So by following this trend, next Skyrim chapter should be 2026. I imagine they’ll do Whiterun as it was the main space is Skyrim. But lots of people have asked for Winterhold for a while.

I'd like to see Winterhold, since the ESO timeframe places it before The Big Collapse, so there's plenty of scope for the devs to make it a major hub.

If we never go back to Skyrim in this game, it will still be too soon. But if we're forced to do so, I suppose original Winterhold would be the least objectionable to me.

I just picked Winterhold because at least we might get pre-destroyed Winterhold but I'd much rather see somewhere else than Skyrim. It's nothing against Skyrim but I want to see something we haven't seen a lot of in dlc zones like Redguards or Wood Elves.

Solstheim

I want Solstheim because it'd be the third time we access it via some DLC. The first time was in the Bloodmoon DLC in TES III, and the next was in the Dragonborn DLC in TES V.

So, we know what happened to those people living there from the gap between TES III and TES V, but we don't know what happens before TES III — ESO is the perfect opportunity to showcase the very early beginnings of the island.

Agreed. There are so many other areas that could be explored first.

Having said that, if we had to go back, I'd want to see Winterhold.

Y'know, I feel as if there are just not many people playing this game that want to see "outlier" content. It's like most want the same stuff that's been spoon fed for decades....

I LOVE Blackwood (yes, a nod to Oblivion, but still very fresh fun to me) and High Isle (never done before so absolutely wonderful to me).

Necrom..... well, I'm not a dunmer fancier at all (actually over the last year I've either deleted all mine if low level, or race changed them) - and that extends to EP in totality. The only reason I have any use at all for Necrom is because I rather enjoy Herma Mora.

And yes - I actually DO love most of the past single player titles - Arena and Daggerfall (and I WISH I could replay Daggerfall....); but not Morrowind (the only one of the single player games I never finished and haven't touched in the years since). But Oblivion and Skyrin - I'm still playing them as well as ESO.

I.... was SO bummed that the Skyrim chapter etc was mundane weres and vampires. I have disliked that sort of content since I began playing TES with Arena at release. Just no use for it at all....

Ah well. I guess I'm the outlier. But at least I pay my own way.

I'm still a huge fan of TES V, but even I would not want to revisit Skyrim when there are so many other places to go that we haven't already explored to death in that game.

However if they were to make a Winterhold chapter, I'd agree that seeing it before the collapse would be interesting, not just to see it intact, but we would hopefully get to see the magical side of Winterhold, before the Nords became distrustful of magic.

There was a DLC for Solstheim in TESIII Morrowind and one for Skyrim. Thats 2 times we were on that island. Personally, thats enough for me. I would not want to return there a third time if avoidable. Tamriel is still big enough for a lot of other chapters before it comes to that.

I am indifferent, original Winterhold could be neat but so could lore accurate Whiterun. That said, I'm not sure ZOS would make Whiterun the scale it should be and would instead just go with the size that we have in TESV.
More Skaal stuff could be cool too, but I'm not sure where Solstheim stands in 2E and it'd also be too small for a Chapter. Maybe as a public dungeon or a new kind of PvP or arena area where one not only has to fight wild animals but also the cold.

Edit: Nevermind, it seems bigger than the Systres. I'm not great at Geography even when it comes to TES... don't ask me where Pyandonea and Aldmeris is, I know I mentally have them both in the wrong spots.

I've seen enough of Skyrim for at least a decade, I want to see other places, places of Tamriel we have never seen before. I also want the world map corrected to be more accurate to lore, which would open up even more areas for content.

No, fixing the map is somewhere in the depths of the too-hard basket, along with the dirty laundry, long-standing code bugs, and the original versions of moderated forum posts (OK, just kidding on the last, honestly!).

I feel like they could include all of these in a chapter. But I would be most excited about Whiterun and owning Breezehome and visiting the Cloud District and Blade of Woeing some ancestor of Nazeem.

None of the above please! What made Skyrim the game interesting, at least for me, was the gameplay. Most certainly not the Nords, who really weren't interesting to be around. IMO (sorry!!) they're just aggressive, parochial and drunk in a really jarring way. We've surely seen enough of them at this point.

i want to see "outlier" stuff, i just also like to see the rest of Tamriel.

i really really wanna see the islands south of Valenwood, they've been on the world maps of past games since Arena and weren't even visitable then.

i Love the Necrom chapter, Because we got Apocrypha and i really want to see more daedric realms.
especially Moonshadow, which would awesome cool to see paired up with a Central Elsweyr zone chapter.


Also really hope we eventually get a maormer chapter with some island zone or zones, which could only really be on islands we've never visited like in the Eltheric Ocean or islands never even seen on a map elsewhere.

The Whiterun hold area is probably my least favorite in the whole province based on TES5. Solstheim does nothing for me.

Dawnstar would be my favorite. If they do it I hope they take some liberties in relation to TES5, because Morthal, Dawnstar, Falkreath and Winterhold obviously shared the same architecture set because of development constraints.

Otherwise, Winterhold is a no-brainer, although they'd have to fix the map for that one.

Pre-Collapse Winterhold and the Pale in general would be great. Maybe with a focus on local events without the usual Daedric influences. Don't get me wrong, I came back for Apocrypha and I'm loving it, but variety never hurts.

Backstory on the Skyforge could be cool, although I doubt we’ll get it. Meeting Paarthurnax and the Greybeards again would have been cool if they hadn’t insisted on ‘Dragons, Dragons EVERYWHERE’ back in Elsweyr…it’s worn out the novelty now. But we could dive into some fun Kyne lore since the Gildergreen hasn’t been struck by lightning yet.

If you are not even a 'Nord enjoyer' why even make this poll, because in that context, you don't even care. Perhaps a better poll would be about what race people prefer a focus upon in a new DLC.

I'm not a fan of the Nords, but that doesn't stop me from seeing what trend exists among them.

Pre collapse winterhold would at least be something new. Id prefer no nord chapter for another 5 years however considering how often skyrim gets rereleased, and how much nostalgia attempts are made with it
