This week:

- Kill 15 Players in Cyrodiil
- Defeat 7 Patrolling Horrors
- Complete 7 Trials

No option for normal players. Please always have SOMETHING that most of us can do, not unachievable goals!

I have never run a Trial in ESO. Finding a group going after Patrolling Horrors is difficult and they are hard for many to solo. And that ignores the threat of being ganked.

I am fodder in Cyrodiil, not a player killer.

Yeah, I know some of you can solo all of these playing with your feet and your eyes closed, but many and likely most of us cannot!

Endeavors already don't make much, don't put an unneeded wall around them!

You can probably finish the first one just getting in a zerg group and following along for 20 minutes. I tend to heal and get credit for kills the group gets. That's usually what I do while I'm trying to get barrier and war horn for my healers.

I don't pvp and I don't do enough trials anymore to complete the 7 trials endeavor, but it seems extremely easy to go into Cyrodiil when there's plenty of people around and just throw aoes and sticky dots around while a zerg does the actual killing. That might still be stressful for some, but I guarantee you could finish it easily within 15 or so minutes.

For trials, if this was before the Group Finder, I'd agree with you. However, I've started using it regularly for normal trials, and I had never done trials before. I think they're a lot more accessible to the average player now, except perhaps those with the crummiest connectivity.

As for the other two endeavors, I can definitely see it being an issue for those who averse to PvP. I don't do much PvP myself except for the events, but sometimes getting out of my comfort zone means I find something else I enjoy. And I did find in the last Mayhem event that I do enjoy PvP in small doses, even though I suck at it. Of course, maybe you've already tried and already know you hate it, and that's fine.

"Normal" players, as you put it, still have options. It might just not be comfortable or ideal options.

Wow, OP is right these are terrible! I have no interest in PVP and even if I did this is beyond my skill level. I'm not ready for trails at all. This will be the first week since endeavors started that I won't finish the weekly.

I thought the whole point of endeavors were something an average player might do in general play. Limiting the entire weekly to things like this are definitely not in that spirit!

I wouldn't say PvPers or people doing trials aren't "normal players"... I see all playstyles as valid, why would I care if people PvP, play ToT, do housing, run trials, dungeons, do quests or go fishing?

That said, ZOS has once announced that they care to have a good mix when it comes to endeavours, so there's one thing for almost every playstyle. I don't see this being the case this week (Is there a PvP event coming this week? Because the endeavors look themed somehow). In general, they could give us more than just 3 options. The more variety to choose from, the better, really.

The semi-annual PvP Mayhem event is slated to start "late February," so this looks aimed to line up with that.

Find someone else who doesn't like these endeavors and go kill them 15 times in Cyrodiil by a keep they can respawn to, then repeat but let them kill you. It's a hassle but that might be the fastest way for you to complete them. Or just ignore them, I do that sometimes.

To get kill credit for kill players Cyrodiil endeavors you just need to tag people and then have them die you don't actually need to do the killing blow yourself.

From a time perspective it will likely be one of the shorter weekly endeavors to complete once the event starts.

That makes sense. And it's another reason to complain, btw: Why do they announce events so late, lately? If it starts this week, as usual on a Thursday, that's not even 4 whole days from now.

"Normal Players" can leech off PvPers when MYM likely starts. Judging by the large amounts of people in Cyrodiil during that time (alongside some complaints on here) normal players have no issue going in there briefly just to get the event tickets.

I think the number of people who refuse to go in there briefly for even an event or endeavor but still care about getting all tickets/endeavors is actually fairly small.

yea those don't really offer an endeavour for everyone.

though we can now use the group finder for trials.
i will probably try killing The Horrors as i do that every Mayhem anyways

i thought all the kill x amount of players quest required different players for each kill,
    did i remember that incorrectly?

I recall doing something like the first endeavor with guildie. It ends up with like 8 of us logging into 2 alliance and we just take turns killing each other and have guildmate in same alliance rezing. We did that in a remote location, not close to any keep so no PvPer will interrupt us, even if they see the PvP icon on the map.

yeah i think one of the weekly endeavours should always offer a casual activity, so i'm with you on that

the kill 15 players one is pretty easy though. just join a group in cyro and wait for a keep siege. you'll get credit for your group's kills (i believe)

I remember the "find a group" for some other PvP challenge a year or more ago and some PvPers came in to gank us. Really annoying.

I can handle it with zergs, but the small one I found on PC EU just after the reset was not big enough and finding a zerg can be challenging. Red had taken that over and my best character is Yellow, so maybe I need to try the non-locked one and see if I can find a group and a few times.

I may have to miss this week. I can possibly coordinate with guilds on PC, but PS5 is a pain to type in.

They really need to have 4 or 5 choices, all that cover different areas.

    - PvP
    - High End Trials
    - Crafting/harvesting
    - Normal PvE
    - Something else?

Since this is obviously a PVP week, they could have replaced the last one with "Get killed by 15 different players in Cyrodiil" and that would have been something that everyone could participate in.

I am almost not surprised. There has been a change in philosophy with Necrom. Zos seems almost anti-casual player now.

These “choices” seem to be following that trend.

What do you mean? The only thing that comes to my mind is the "world event" you have to group for (which annoys me too, btw).
    BlueRaven wrote: »

I think it's more a case of thoughtlessness, as in not keeping in mind that there ideally should be 1 option for every different play style, and instead completely focussing on this week's event theme. Just like they did last week with the crafting stuff.

I have no issue if the focus for endeavours for the next week or two is on PvP.
We all had extra endeavours through daily login rewards and then this last week the daily endeavours have been slanted towards crafting (a PvE event).

What do you spend endeavours on and how often? I have several new mounts and many outfits, some pets, even a custom fast travel action all through endeavours. Missing out on one week will in the long term not impact.

For the record, I primarily PvE but join in with PvP and I am prepared to die, a lot as I am pretty bad at it . I will join the PvP this week, but do not expect to gain any endeavours out of it. I join in for the enjoyment of it all.

    I'm a sub-normal player.

I'll be doing the "Kill 15 Players in Cyrodiil". This will mean I can't lose the 5000 Telvar once I have them.

Tactics will be to get into a defensive siege, and catapult meatbags at the enemy. Being stood on a castle wall negates the enemies' ability to pull sweaty moves on me. Past experience shows this is an effective way of getting kills.

It will also be fun :D

The term "casual" is not very descriptive, mainly because the number of definitions of that word is just slightly less than the number of players in the game.

Seems to me that the first one was written with PVE players in mind. Assuming it is not a mistake, that is. They could have easily set that at 150, which would have given the regular Cyrodiil players something to work towards. As it is, 15 is basically just a "show up and get rewarded", and that is definitely beneficial for the PVE players who spend no time in Cyrodiil, but are willing to give it a go for the event.

I expect that the first one will be, by a massively wide margin, the most common one completed.
