Totally understand that sentiment and will pass that along. The event was intended to be a surprise for players, but understand the want for an advance notice.
For people who have the means to datamine the game's data, the details for the event were available months in advance, and this week's suspiciously-themed weekly endeavors were a clear indicator that it was going to happen this week. So the surprise wasn't quite there. When I saw the reduced recon cost in the datamined details, the very first thing that I thought was, "that sounds like an exploit", and it was going to be the first thing that I was going to check when the event went live.WhosTheFancyOneNow wrote: »it took people less than 2 minutes to find that exploit
To be honest, I was surprised that the exploit worked. Because it was so obvious that I thought, "they couldn't have possibly overlooked this". I really was expecting something like a cost floor, so that the halved costs could never fall below 25.

They only mentioned the MYM event so many of us figured the crafters was cancelled.
They don't want us saving up stuff for the event though, cause some players like myself would do thousands of master writs during it.
Unfortunately I did most of my writs the last few weeks, netting about 40k vouchers.
If I had known about this event I could have gotten 80k, enough for another set of grand master stations.
This is the first time we were doing the event and was supposed to be a surprise event, which is why we waited to say anything. Also this benefits of the event will only apply to new writs generated during the event. So there would been no benefit to the stockpiling your writs.

Surprise events work better when you don't tell everyone it's coming in an email a couple of weeks before

Not all of us are able to data mine and since speculation on the forums is restricted.... a lot of us have to rely on official channels.

That's true. There are things in there that have yet to see the light of day and may never see the light of day, so just by itself, it's not particularly useful since there's a lot of irrelevant noise. However, ZOS did let word of this slip out. At the start of the month, there was a marketing mail about the month's daily login rewards that made a passing mention of the Crafter's Celebration.

The cost of transmutation is still 50% off.

I don’t think I’ve transmuted a single thing since the changes to jewelry crafting. Only reconstructed.

I also prefer reconstructing to transmuting for gear I'll use, but many people transmute weapons to nirnhoned for a shot at the nirncrux on decon. That isn't possible with reconstruction.

That sounds… like a very inefficient way to make gold tbh. Even with the reduced transmute cost. But I guess some people just have transmutes to spare and then it’s better than nothing.
Same here man!!! Same here!!! This event should have been put in the Official Event Post. I just recently turned in several gold Master Writs. I could have gotten that Transmute Station with this double earnings by now.The developers should compensate me by giving me that Transmute station for free.

To be honest I didn't think I'd be troubling the event manager, because I only came across a master writ on my sixth crafter, but I did get one!
It was a purple jewellery writ, for 55. Now that's approximately double the usual return, so is that how it's done?
Because I didn't get 110 when I turned it in, I got 55.
If it's marked up for the event then will it stay marked up forever? Or will it only have that value for the duration of the event?
And how can it be double when it's 55?
Events should make you feel good, but somehow - worse drop rate and ambiguous mark up - I feel cheated.
It looks like the double reward is only applied to writs you earn during the event, so it wouldn't have mattered if you saved up your older ones.
